[The small girl smiled shyly as she looked into the lens of the communicator. ]

...Ephraim.

Are you still here? Is anyone still here?

[OOC: Sorry to lock off the action bits to just one person but this is a plot by Hades to pay Saleh back for interfering with him. Feel free to speak to Myrrh, think she is a sweet girl, or get suspicious which ever.
^^ Pain and Panic are acting like a new arrival to Traverse Town and they are not always the greatest actors. ]

[It was just another routine day in Traverse Town when Saleh checked his communicator and instantly recognized that shy little voice. It certainly caught his attention as he raced out to find her.]

Lady Myrrh!!

Saleh, so you are here. What happened to everything?

[It pretty much breaks his heart to explain everything to her.]

Ah...our world...everything has been devoured by darkness. The survivors are brought here by the light. Many other people from other worlds have been brought here after their worlds were lost as well.

I am grateful that you are safe, Great Dragon.

[Myrrh closes her eyes and looks away. So many important people were missing. ]

The light can save them? Maybe that is why Father gave me this box.

Yes...the light can save them. It is a difficult battle, but I believe we will prevail.

[He gets curious at the mention of the box.]

A box? What is it?

I am not sure what is inside. I can't get it open.

...

[She wants to ask something but hesitates. ]

Could you try to open it?

All right...I'll take a look at it.

[He takes the box and examines it carefully, holding it to his ear and listening to the contents inside.]

Hmm...is there no key for this?

[Myrrh fidgets slightly when Saleh takes the box. ]

Father did not give me a key. Do you think you could find a way to open it anyway? It might be important.

I'll see what I can do...

[So he'll begin the attempt to pry it open with his hands...]

[Myrrh quietly backs away a few paces as Saleh attempts to open the box. Just using his hands wasn't quite good enough though.]

... Maybe, with magic it would open?

Magic? All right...stand back, Lady Myrrh.

[He takes a few steps back and pulls out his Thunder tome. Then he extends his arm, calling forth a bolt of lightning to crash on the box.]

[Lady Myrrh stands back alright! With a light snicker she ducked over behind the corner of one of the buildings to watch the fun.

As soon as the lightening hit the box the lid popped open releasing a pyrotechnic display to put the lightening to shame. The magic now freed from the box reached our and grabbed a hold of Saleh's essence, pulling his magic away to seal it behind a powerful ward.]

[Saleh could feel the magic pulled from his body. When it was over, his body suddenly felt so weak, and he collapsed to his knees.]

Wh...what happened...? What...what was that...?

That, you stupid mage, was a present from Hades! You should have thought about what happened if you got on his bad side!

Hades...

[So it was a trap. And the girl talking to him was not the real Myrrh. The real Myrrh would never talk like this.]

You...you're not Myrrh...

['Myrrh' laughed with evil glee as 'she' transformed back into Hades two little minions Pain and Panic. ]

It took you long enough to figure that out!

A little sooner and you might have avoided Hades curse.

[Saleh doesn't dignify their taunts with a response. Instead, he stands shakily, propping his staff into the ground for support. He holds out his empty hand, concentrating, trying to form a fireball. His fingertips tremble a bit with the concentration. When the attempt fails, his hand relaxes, but he just lets out an exasperated sigh.]

[If Pain and Panic would have said more about it their laughter is cut short when Hades himself appears from a billowing black cloud of smoke. ]

Saleh, old friend, not looking so chipper! What happened, eat a bad date? You look like you can barely even stand!

[Hades, of course, knows full well what is wrong and he thinks it is WONDERFUL. ]

[Saleh glares at the Lord of the Dead, his facial expression flickering.]

Hades...

[There was nothing else he could say, however. Nothing that probably hadn't been heard, certainly nothing that would change the situation any. In his point of view, the best way to keep from falling from an enemy's taunts was to simply not respond.]

[That might work with anyone else, but Hades just glides over to Saleh to wrap a 'friendly' arm around his shoulders. ]

I'll tell you what to do, see, here's what you do. You go home, you get into bed, read a little scroll... and you...

[Hades flares. Turning fiery red for just an instant. ]

MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!

[A return to the jovial mocking tone. ]

See, I can't have people like you interfering with my plans all of the time. So take this as a sort of warning. Back off, live your own life, or, heh, I will find you a nice, dark, quiet little corner of the Underworld for your eternal resting place. Kapeesh?

[Hades wrapping an arm around his shoulders makes Saleh cringe. At the brief flare-up, Saleh jumps slightly, losing his balance and falling to the ground. He sits up again, but doesn't try to stand back up yet as he listens to the little warning.]

I...I make no promises. See...this is my business.

[So Saleh fell to the ground, Hades really couldn't care less. ]

This has nothing to do with you. Your world is gone!

What you need to do is remember that and stay out of my business. If you couldn't even protect one world what makes you think you could do anything worthwhile here any way. What, flat learning curve?

This...this isn't about my world. My business is helping others, regardless of the world I'm in.

[Helping in Cyrus's rescue was more than worthwhile.]

And with this "curse" of yours, this is now my business more than ever.

Look, Salay...

[Hades also knows this is not his name. ]

I gave you this little gift to teach you a lesson, but if you aren't going to learn anything from it I could just finish you off right now. It's your call babe.

[Just readying a fireball here. ]

[The fireball in Hades' hand prompts Saleh to slowly pick himself up once again. Again he struggles against his own exhaustion, propping his staff on the ground. This is not good; he wouldn't be able to dodge anything Hades threw at him, and he can't counter with his own magic either. But somehow he has to save himself. Perhaps he would have to surrender this time...]

I'll...

[There's a long pause as he gathers what's left of his stamina to get his words out.]

I'll learn something from it...

[Taking this for a win Hades makes the fireball disappear again. ]

Now you're talking! You take a bit time, think about this, at the end of the curse we get together have a talk, watch a little tournament together, share some moussaka, and go home happy.

[He just rubs his eyes, as it's getting more difficult to stay awake.]

I'll...I'll pass...

[He's just not interested in getting friendly with the Lord of the Dead at all.]

Pass? Pass out, looks like!
You should sit down before you fall down!

[Well, have fun with that. Hades will just be wandering off to leave Saleh alone, in the street, and very weak. ]

[Hades is definitely right about that one. Saleh feels a sense of relief washing over him. His body relaxes, effectively giving up the fight to stay awake. And thus he passes out, collapsing right there in the street.]
