So that's it. My entire world... gone. My country, my people, everyone...

[A teenager in red and gold clothing slumps dejectedly onto the steps in Traverse Town's first district. A moogle carrying the communicator is hovering beside him.]

I'm sorry, kupo. For now, you'll have to make a new life here!

[Zuko looks up, showing his mismatched eyes; one side of his face is covered with a burn scar. His anger flares as his gaze fixes a little above the camera onto the moogle.] I didn't want a new life! How many times do I have to lose everything?!

[He moves to stand abruptly. Bad decision; the still-fresh wound in his midriff jolts and he has to sit back down, gritting his teeth in pain. The moogle flutters beside him, worried.]

Are you okay, kupo?!

...Yeah. [Zuko runs a hand through his hair, obviously agitated.] Sorry. Getting mad at you won't fix anything. [He accepts the proferred phone from the moogle and looks at it with a blank expression.] What are you giving me?

It's a communicator! Maybe you can contact your friends with it!

How--? [He's curious, even in spite of his situation. He presses a button experimentally-- and the feed ends.]

[Zuko gains some respect for actually realizing getting angry isn't going to solve anything and thus letting it go.]

Hello, my name is Qui-Gon Jinn. If you have any questions that the moogle hasn't answered, I can try to help answer them.

Zuko! You're okay!

I hope that the Moogle showed you how to use this communicator. If not then I'll glad to be of help.

[It's a lesson he's learned the hard way, but learned nonetheless.]

...It talked. [Turning the communicator in his hands now, and squinting at it. Guess this is what the talking fluffball meant.] Yeah, I do. The... moogle thing said this is another world. Was that the truth?

Aang! [He blinks. The Avatar is a welcome sight, but seeing him on a tiny screen is just surreal.]

What's going on? Where are you?

It... showed me the basics. I'll figure out the rest.

[Right now, though, figuring out the communicator is the least of his problems.]

Are you from around here?

...You are injured.

[He winces and puts a hand to his stomach.] It'll heal. My friend took care of the worst of it.

Not originally, but I've been here for a few months now.

Then you lost your world too. I'm sorry.

Ah, I see.

Would you like something for it?

[Yeah, you're not getting out of it that easily.]

Yes I did, but I don't mind an awful lot since my friend is here.

My friend's a Waterbender. She can heal better than anyone I know. Uh-- no offence.

That's lucky for you.

[Zuko, though, has only heard from Aang so far. There's still plenty of people he's worried about.]

That's all right, I do understand.

But, should you need help, or information, I can do my best to provide it.

I just want to know how to get back to my world. Or... how to get my world back.

[He sighs.] But I guess if it was as simple as that, you guys would be home already.

I'm at the hotel! I got my room already! I don't really know my way around yet, but I can come find you!

I'm... [Zuko looks around for defining landmarks to give Aang directions.] ...on some stairs, outside the accessory shop. You've probably seen it, it's hard to miss.

Yeah! I'll be right there!

[He hangs up and, a few minutes later, there's an Airbender landing, staff in hand. He grins at Zuko.] I knew everyone wasn't really gone forever.

Unfortunately, we don't know much about either. But there are many people working on finding a solution.

[Zuko matches Aang's grin with a completely serious expression. He stands up from where he was sitting, trying not to cringe at the stab of pain through his wound when he does so.]

We might be here, but I haven't heard from any of the others. Have you?

No, I haven't seen anyone else.

[He pauses, looking at Zuko carefully.] Are you okay?

[He's still a little confused, but...] I'll help, too. I'll do whatever it takes.

What about this situation makes you think I'm okay?

[Temper? Lost. But he's more angry at himself than at Aang.]

What if we're the only two people left of our world?! How could we let something like this happen?!

[Blue hair and blue eyes; not always a normal combination, but she's smiling sympathetically.]
