[This is the first transmission Naru's made since she abruptly left Traverse Town without telling any of the others she was going. It's been a couple of days, so even though she doesn't want to give away where her and Nephrite might be... she does want to let people know she's alright]

Hey everyone. It's Naru here.

I'm sorry i left so suddenly but everything is alright. You don't need to worry or anything.

[The message pauses as she tries to think of what else to say]

Don;t try to find me or anything. I'm sure we can meet again sometime. Until then, at least we have the communicators. Usagi, at least try to give the school a shot, alright? [i thought I'd be going with you...now I'm not so sure] And Ami, thanks again for everything you've done. You stay out of trouble too!

[Debates leaving messages for Usagi's other friends, but she hadn't really had the chance to speak to them much beforehand. Perhaps, given that Nephrite and her were in hiding, it was for the best that she hadn't. Though she still held some regrets about it]

Are you really safe?

[This is not reassuring. Not at all. It screams of secrets and perhaps even coercion. It reads like a script.]

Naru-chan, are you sure you're alright? This doesn't sound quite right.

[That wasn't as simple to answer as it should have been. This was a new world and who really knew how safe it was, plus there were people looking for Nephrite.. and well.. she'd never spent this much time alone with Nephrite either. Naru didn't really think too many people would condone running off with an older man]

Yeah, of course. [But.. she sounded a little unsure]

[Her efforts were having an effect that were the exact opposite of what she'd been going for]

I'm sure. I.. [Pause] just wanted to see what the other worlds were like. [Worst lying ever]

[It was the 'don't try to find me', really. And if Naru is just traveling, why wouldn't she tell them where?

But she can't really pry, either.]

[Sounds like she's managed to get out of explaining anything ]

[For all their efforts, they haven't escaped Zoisite at all. In fact, he's standing quietly behind Naru. He makes his presence known after a moment of allowing that chilling someone-is-watching feeling. He looks at some distant point instead of at Naru. His voice (as always, it seems) is low and mild.]

Nephrite is also near?

[He's very sure of his feeling.]

[Nephrite never knew Naru in her world, so she doesn't make that connection. But the fact something is troubling Naru is all too easy to tell, still.]

We can't help you with it if we don't know. Would you like to talk when you come back?

[Yes, when. She's not letting Naru stay away forever. Usagi would never forgive her.]

[Oh those lovely other dimensions. Naru assumes they're from the same one, but wouldn't expect her to know about Nephrite anyway]

[Naru isn't exactly saying 'definitely' or 'surely'. She sounds like she's struggling with something. Ami may not be her closest friend, but she can't ignore this, either.]

[if Zoisite had already managed to find them... would this mean that have to move again?! She looked to the communicator and wondered if using it had been a mistake. Naru tensed and looked back at Zoisite. He was still looking for Nephrite....]

I don't have to answer that.

[They can move, but he'll find them just as easily. He ignores Naru's refusal to answer - he already knows it, and he is no longer the man who might simply hypnotize her for the response. No, he moves on to his business in coming here instead.]
