Hello everyone -- this is Tomoe, Mami; one of your pastry chefs from the Cat's Eye café! I just wanted to let everyone know that we are featuring certain dishes with some delicious goodies in season that perhaps some of you would like to try!

We've prepared a delicious baked date square served with a carmelized brown sugar glaze, I hope that you won't find it too sweet? Ah, and orange cheesecake, also. Drizzled with a dark chocolate sauce.

If you have some free time, please stop by! We would love to have you.

( mami was behind the counter, having just served a few customers, and wiping her hands in her apron. she grazed over the entrance to see the girl from over the communicator had arrived.
mami waved, and made her way over to the entrance -- ) Welcome to the Cat's Eye! ( she greeted cheerily ) You must be Touya-san.

You're hard at work.

[Ami gently interrupts Mami's work with a friendly if somewhat tired smile. She knows some off the staff have disappeared; it means Mami is working hard, and barely showing the strain. She'd like to have more fortitude like that herself.]

Do you need any help? I've been a waitress at the school festival before.

Thank you. I'll make sure to be there as soon as possible to help out around the kitchen.

[Rima, who had been watching the other customers milling about the cafe or happily eating their chosen meals, turned her head to pay more attention to the cheerful girl. ]

Yes.

[Though she didn't waste many words when she answered the girl's question... ]

Yeah! I'll see if Sokka wants to come with me!

( mami looks up at the sound of the familiar voice, and instantly smiles ) Mizuno-san! You made it. ( she straighens up ) It's all right, it's about time that I took a break, anyway. And I would hate to make you work when I invited you here for a little bit of fun.

( she motions over towards a table with a small 'reserved' sign perched on it ) Why don't you go sit down? I'll join you in just a moment.

Of course! Desserts always taste better when you have someone to share them with.

Great! Your table is right this way. ( as she turns, mami grabs a menu at the same time, leading the girl to a table tucked away in the corner. there, she stops, and places the menu on the flat surface ) Would you like something to drink to start off with, perhaps?

Thank you; you're a very kind hostess. [Ami heads to the indicated table, and seats herself after a quick, half-guilty look at the reserved sign; Mami shouldn't have had to do that and she shouldn't be taking space others could have used until now.]

[Rima follows and takes a seat behind the table once it is pointed out to her. She already had a idea what she wanted but she looked at the menu to pick out what kind of drink she thought would go best with her choice. ]

A diet cola and a slice of the orange cheesecake you mentioned.

So that's what that delicious smell was while I was waiting tables.

[Have a friendly grin.] You don't mind if I sneak back there while I'm on a break and try some, do you, Mami?

( she's just happy to have a friend visiting her at work, honestly. and when she finally joins the other girl, she's carrying two plates -- a serving of both of the desserts she had mentioned earlier. she places them on the table first and then smoothes her skirt as she sits down ) I thought if we shared two plates, you'd have a chance to try both of them this way.

Of course. ( she nods ) Coming right up!

( and she walks off... back to the counter, first setting the drink to pour, then to the walk in cooler to pick out a slice of the cake... she drizzles it with chocolate, that solidifies a little as it hits the air, and she nods in satisfaction. taking the glass in one hand and the plate in the other, she walks gracefully back to the table and sets them down ) Here you are!

( she giggles at the praise -- ) Not at all, Kenobi-san! Shall I set some aside for you?

That's a wonderful idea. I was wondering how to sample more without making a nuisance of myself. [Ami smiles pleasantly as always.]

[Rima picks up her fork and takes a small bit of the cake before deciding. ]

Its good. Do you make these?

That would be fantastic if it's not too much trouble. How shall I repay you?

Why don't you repay me by agreeing to sample the new pastries before they make to the menu?

( she beams at the praise ) Yes, I did. I'm glad it's enjoyable! I was worried the orange might be a little too tart.

( She giggles ) Mizuno-san, I'm not sure you could be a nuisance if you tried. ( she picks up a fork, going for a small piece of the cheesecake )

[Ami takes a polite, testing bite of her own dessert before nudging the plate closer to Mami to make sure crumbs won't fall on the table while they trade.]

It's very delicious; go ahead, please try it.

It is tart.

[Another bite. ]

But, not too tart.
It's well balanced.

[High praise indeed! Even if Rima's tone sounds kind of disinterested. ]

( oh she just relishes in it! she imagines this is what it must be like to be praised by akemi-san! she beams and shifts her weight on her feet ) I'm glad you enjoy it. You should come by more often, I try to make a variety of dishes, maybe you'll find something else you like.

( she beams for a moment, then digs into the other -- tilting her head as she chews -- ) You don't think it's too sweet? I'd worried not everyone would like it.

I try not to indulge it unhealthily, but I have a sweet tooth.
