[The video clicks on, revealing the very top of some spiky blond hair and most of a wall above that, also part of a ceiling. Then it tilts down to center a little crookedly on a boy's face, probably in his mid-teens, with bright blue eyes and, at the moment, kind of a questioning expression as he examines the device.]

So it's like this...?

Yeah, just like that! Go on, say something, your friends should know you're okay!

Uhm, okay then! [Ven focuses on the camera, giving it a big grin and raising one hand to wave a little.] Hey! My name's Ventus - call me Ven. I just... um, woke up, and I was hoping I could get in touch with someone I know... Terra? Aqua? Are you guys all right?

I think I've got a lot to catch up on.

[Just checking the communicator, nothing unusual here.]

[Wait, is that Roxas? No--

Could it be--?]

[It is. Aqua almost drops the communicator in surprise as a hand flies to her mouth. Shock and pure disbelief fight for dominance as she holds the communicator so tight, it's a wonder doesn't break.]

Ven! Ven, is that really you?!

Aqua! [He is so glad to hear that voice and see that face youhavenoidea.] You're okay! He didn't get you!

I'm fine, don't worry.

[The shock is gone now he's responded, replaced by a slow smile forming. He's really back -- he's really okay. She's so relieved, she wishes she was beside him, so she could hug him and never let go.]

But how did you... When did you wake up?

Just a few minutes ago! I'm at Sora's, he says he's been keeping me here for awhile.

[He'll get to the part about not being able to walk later.]

That's right, he has. Just stay right there and I'll come straight to see you, okay?

[Oh good they can have that uncomfortable talk in person! Not that he minds at all, though.]

Got it! Wait, Aqua - where's Terra?

[Aaand whatever happiness she had in her expression instantly drops. She's not even going to make any pretences of hiding the truth from Ven at this point, as much as she wants to. She tried to shield him before and it failed.]

Ven, we'll talk when I get there. You've... missed a few things.

[More than a few things. The man in the realm of darkness, not to mention King Mickey, filled her in on the rest. None of it spells good news for Terra... But Ven deserves to know.]

[Ven would have to be a fool not to notice that, and while he's a bit naive, he's no fool. His own face falls in response, and he has an immediately conclusion to jump to, based on what he last saw.]

...He didn't make it, did he?

...

[Not even King Mickey can give any definite answers, and so she doesn't respond. She just sighs, and offscreen, clutches her Wayfinder in her pocket. He has to still be out there -- somewhere.]

I'll explain everything as best I can. Just hold on a little longer.

[That doesn't reassure him too much, Aqua. Still, he nods - it's the only thing he can do.]

I'm not going anywhere.

Okay. Stay safe, Ven.

[And she cuts the feed.

Being restricted to gummi ships means it takes her longer to arrive at the Islands than she'd like, but as soon as she's climbing out of the gummi ship she runs to Sora's house, heedless of the odd stares from the natives. She does, at least, take the time to greet Sora's mother when she gets there, and inquire after Ven, who should be able to make out the two female voices downstairs. It's become fixed routine by now, for Aqua. But Ven isn't up and about yet, according to Sora's mother, which worries her.

She takes the stairs three at a time, and opens the door to Sora's room hesitantly, as if still expecting him to be asleep. Maybe she just dreamed it all up, and this day will be like any other and he's still sleeping.]

Ven? [The door creaks open softly, and she steps inside, trying to keep armoured shoes from clicking too loudly against the wooden floor.]

[And Ven is there - still on Sora's bed, worrying about Terra. But when Aqua opens the door, he manages to grin at her, raising an arm to wave.]

Hey - I'm okay, now. He didn't let him get me.

[But he's not getting up to meet her, either.]

[Wordlessly, Aqua crosses the room. You, mister, are getting pulled into the biggest big sis hug in existence.]

I knew you'd come back. I knew it...

[But she's still overwhelmed, speech muffled slightly against his shoulder as she clings to him fiercely. She's had to be strong for so long, she can allow herself one moment of weakness.]

[Most teenage boys would shy away from this sort of thing, and on another day, Ven might too. But now, he's hugging Aqua back just as hard as she's hugging him, silently being determined that he's never going to let anyone hurt her again.]

I know it took too long - sorry, Aqua. I didn't want it to.

Ven! You're finally awake!

[There is no way he can't be confused by this. She looks friendly enough, but he's sure he's never seen this girl before.]

Uhh, yeah, I am! [He grins and waves - and then gives into the confusion again.] Who are you? Have we met before?

I... merely saw you arrive. I worried for you. My name is Lilisette. How are you feeling?

Ven! Hey!

[Guess who's excited to see you? He saw Aqua already on the video, but now Ven? All he needs to see is Terra and he'd be all set!]

It's okay... It's okay. [She's still holding him tight. Now more than ever she wishes Terra was here, that Eraqus was still alive, that they could be together and happy like when Ven first woke. But this is better than nothing. She's glad beyond words to see him again.]

I should be the one to apologise, for taking so long to reach you.

Hey, it's not your fault. Me and Sora had to get me out of his heart anyway.

[That had been tricky enough as it was. Finally, he pulls back and grins at Aqua, trying to cheer her up.]

At least I'm in one piece, right?

[Don't worry, he'll adopt you soon. Or you'll adopt him. Ven collects friends like other boys collect scraped knees. Once that's cleared up, he grins at Lili.]

Considering what I just came from, I'm doing pretty good! Looks like it'll take a couple days for me to be all good again, but I can wait.

ZACK! [Oh man, THIS IS GREAT! He didn't expect to see him, that's for sure!] Heeey! Good to see you! Still over at the Coliseum?

Uh... no.

[cheekscratch.]

I sort of somehow ended up in Traverse Town. I feel like I'm missing something, honestly, but it's good know the Coliseum is still there!
