005 ☄ [Video | Bodyswap Shenanigans]
[Padmé, as Obi-Wan, has been learning a lot recently. About the Force and the Jedi, and things she never thought she'd get to experience. Currently she's still getting her feet wet with her awareness of the Force, and while they don't have the little helmets that the young apprentices wear to hone their lightsaber abilities, Padmé is, at least, working with the heightened reflexes. It's a welcome reprieve from the sadness and overwhelming sense of emptiness she's felt every time a world disappeared.
She's concentrating when the video starts, and then she smiles.]
Okay, I'm ready.
[Thankfully the real Obi-Wan is there as well to instruct her, albeit from her own body. It's strange to look at herself so much, but she tries to think of it as little as possible.
And for a moment she looks pretty good, snatching the things he throws at her out of the air, but then she becomes distracted and she has to focus then on dodging. But she can do even that with the help of the Force, and she gives a sheepish laugh afterward.]
I'm sorry. Once more. This time I promise I'll get it.
[Even though this is already her fifth try. It's just really hard to concentrate so much; how do they do it?]

is so much...
that is strange...
about this scene... ]
I suppose you two must also have been hit with that bizarre curse?
It's rather amazing, though.... Getting to experience what it's like walking in someone else's shoes. Unfortunately Obi-Wan isn't that much taller than I.
[She giggles a bit, and looks over her shoulder to tease her friend, too.]
It gives you a different perspective at least.
[He is SO glad he didn't get swapped with anyone. ]
[And that makes this all worth it, to her.]
It seems you've escaped from all of this? And here I thought that yourself, Ciel, and that other, blonde man would be the first to switch, what with your unique bond.
[Chloe offered the 'other blonde man's' name. ]
Some how all of us managed to avoid it. Maybe the people staying near Disney Castle were some how skipped by the curse?
[He will also ignore that 'unique bond' comment, though it is really true. They all have a weird sort of friendship going on. ]
[Repeating it meant she'd commit it to memory better. She hoped.]
That is possible. Perhaps it's the power of the King and Queen that enforced such protection.
Magic again. There was a time when I thought that was just for fairy tales.
[But then Jedi's were supposed to not be real either... ]
Are you trying out 'the force'?
[She smiles at the mention of the Force.]
I am. I'm very grateful to have the chance to experience this... I hope it'll help me to better understand those I hold dear.
[action]
It does take a lot of focus, but you're doing better than most initiates. Remember: breathe and let the Force flow through you. Let it guide you and tell you where to move next.
Are you ready?
[action]
[She laughs softly; she knows he's not the type, but she really can't imagine that she's doing better than the children at the academy. The Force was overwhelming, and as grateful as she was to have a glimpse of it, she still had no idea how to handle all of these newfound abilities.
Still, she does as he instructs, and she closes her eyes to take a deep breath and try to focus.]
I think so. [She nods hesitantly and puts on her game face.] I mean, yes. I'm ready.
[action]
[action] /so tempted to make the silliest faces now, Obi-Wan >D
Her focus on another topic entirely, she barely manages to catch the last projectile before it goes flying into the wall again. Barely. It still slips from her fingers when she can't quite pull it back to her - she's really not used to these limbs yet - but, hey, that's progress, right?]
We were speaking of the future recently... Isn't that one of the Force abilities? Do you think, if I tried, I could do it?
[Because there are really so many answers she needs to find about their future, and if she can do this now... Well, it was worth a shot.]
[action] That can be turned back on you, Padme! 8|
I'm afraid it's not that simple, Padmé. While I've never had the gift of precognition beyond good reflexes, I know that it's not something that can be turned on and off like a switch. If it's the will of the Force for you to see something, then you will see it, but it's rare for one to be able to successfully force foresight.
It's true that I believe the Force has given us this knowledge to change things, but... Trying to make the Force give you visions could be dangerous.
[action] but she's always pretty :c
It's just... I've never been able to experience things like the two of you. [Obi-Wan and Anakin are the only two Jedi she's had prolonged contact with, so they're the two who always stick out in her mind.] And now I finally have the chance to feel the same things you do and experience them--it's incredible. I no longer feel reduced to a Senator, watching the two of you fighting my battles.
[She tries for a hopeless smile but fails.] If there was anything I could do like this, to protect the two of you--for once--I would do it.
[action] And I'm sure she can make some pretty outrageous faces. :3
Being connected to the Force is incredible-- I don't deny that. You've done a lot of good in ways that we can't. I've teased you about politics, but that's only because the Senate is lacking in voices who would use their influence to help others rather than their own agendas. Voices like you. Your battlefield is different than ours and I don't think you realize how much you have done. Brute force isn't the only way to protect someone, you know.
And besides, if your tactical ability has increased at all since the Battle of Naboo, I fear for those who try to harm you or the things you care about.
[action] she says that's impossible!
There was a time a couple of years ago, when I stepped down as the queen of Naboo, when I thought about retiring in order to lead a quiet life. [She grins and shakes her head.] My sister chides me for it all the time, but someone has to be the voice for those who have none. Just like others have to protect those who cannot protect themselves.
[Still, she feels the Jedi are able to accomplish much more than she'll be able to.
But at his last comment she can only laugh a bit.]
Well, there is one Jedi I've picked up a few tactical pointers from, if only after hearing of them second-hand. [Even if hasn't yet earned himself the title of the "negotiator."]
[action] Nothing is impossible, my dear.
Oh? Has Anakin been telling you all about his adventures, then?
