✖ Voice / Video ✖ Mai + Traverse Town
[The distinct sound of rustling fabric is audible for a few minutes until a light clatter indicates the communicator has been dropped. A voice, feminine to say the least, heaved a sigh as a very familiar Kupo! followed.]
How many times do I have to repeat myself: I don't want anything.
[There's more voices now.]
Take this! You have to eat something, kupo!
I told you I'm not hungry. Just keep moving and leave me alone.
[And there was another clatter and the feed turned on displaying two floating moogle's holding a small saucer with a pasty before a very unhappy newcomer. She realized the comm-link had fallen and bent down to pick it up, brushing it off and ready to stuff it back in the sleeve she had it in. The moogle's didn't seem to make any motions of leaving, she clearly wasn't surprised even as they edged closer with the pastry.]
I hate this place.

[Zuko has made a habit of flipping through the network, checking for important updates or new arrivals. With each day he gets less and less hopeful, but he checks regardless. There still might be a chance someone he knows could show up. Hopefully not someone like his father.
There's nothing out of the ordinary today, so he's just vaguely checking while he makes something to eat. Until--]

[He fumbles to turn on the video function to reply, the bowl he's holding slipping out of his hands with a loud CRASH.]
Mai! You're-- When did you--?!
[Congrats, Mai, you've made Zuko forget how to form sentences. He's surprised and concerned and relieved to see her.]

[The communicator was halfway up her sleeve when she heard that familiar voice. She quickly pulled it out again.]
Zuko? [Yep. That was her Zuko, all right. She stared. Considering how she's been brooding for two days, it's a little hard to believe you just... appeared. In a strange mechanical box. She stared down the moogle's.] What's going on, now? Was it you two? Did you do this?

They didn't do anything, Mai. It's me -- I'm talking to you through this thing.
[He'd explain further, but he doesn't really get how the communicators work himself. Instead the camera jerks around as Zuko gets ready to leave.]
You're in Traverse Town, right? Don't move, I'm coming to find you.

[But didn't they say you were all dead? Well, dead Zuko was better than no Zuko, she figured. Before the moogle's could start she got up and walked outside of the in looking around. She's well aware this could all be a trick.]
Where are you?
