Did you have a good New Year's dream? I thought about the custom of New Year's resolutions. I thought about making a few for myself, and working to accomplish them.

I still will, but I thought it might be more important to make some resolutions together. To talk about what we want to change and improve in the worlds here. Of course, being able to revive our worlds and return home is the priority, but we can't ignore where we are, either.

We shouldn't, really; we should always be open to improving ourselves. I suppose it's just easier to think about when we're already thinking about new starts.

You mean new starts like we have to here. Starting all over again until our worlds come back.

You could say that, but.. it seems like a negative attitude, doesn't it? As long as we work our hardest to get home, I don't think we should chastise ourselves for not being able to yet. And being here... If our homes are really gone until we can revive them, being here is a blessing after all.

To be honest. I kind of like it here. I mean after all we might learn more here than we do in our home world. It's a rather fun learning experience and one I don't really regret going through.

Sure I'm missing some friends, but I have hope that they will turn up some day.

It isn't being here that's wrong. It's knowing whole worlds have been lost. Even aside from myself, and the friends I miss, these worlds should survive, and the people shouldn't be thrown into darkness.

We can't help what happens to others, I know it's wrong, but as we've seen people can eventually come out from the darkness into the light.

I just learn to accept that it happens and we can't do much about it right now.

I wonder if that's the same as inaction... It worries me.

Why would it worry you?

I'm afraid that if we become complacent like that, we won't do as much as we should to revive our worlds and truly solve this situation.

[His face becomes a little more serious for the moment, his usual cheery demeanour slowly went away as he thought about it. It was true he liked it here and if given the choice, if his friends were here, if Alice were here, then he wouldn't really mind about staying here permanently. But he guessed it would be different for everyone.]

But, how much can we truly do now? I mean the creatures we battle with, these Heartless keep coming back, no matter what we do. So, how can we even start when we know nothing of how to destroy them.

We know there are weapons that can do it. That means there's a possibility of creating more. Please don't think of it as hopeless yet.

But only knowing that weapons exist isn't enough.

I don't think it's hopeless, far from it. But, it's nice to understand both sides of it, that's all.

Knowing they exist isn't enough. But knowing it allows us to search for them, or work to create something similar. Knowing they exist means we know these are possibilities.

I guess your right. Maybe there is a library somewhere that might have more information.

I've looked up what I can in some of the smaller ones. Perhaps we should try to locate a larger one we could be allowed access to, together.

Well, where would there be a place filled with books?

I've heard the Beast's castle has an amazing library, but I haven't asked for permission to see it yet. If we could be granted permission, perhaps we could go together.

Have you been there before, by some chance?

I've been to that world once, but never really explored the place.

It still can't hurt to ask permission to see more. Shall we?

I guess it won't be so bad. I'm kind of curious as to what the library is like.

So am I. But I've heard he doesn't like many guests, so we may not be able to obtain his permission. [She'd rather realize the possibility now, than be disappointed after expecting it to go well.]

Well, what if we explained the situation? Do you think that would help?

It might. I don't think he means to be cruel, it's just, we are asking permission to come on his private property and use his private collection. He's well within his rights to prefer that we didn't.
