I think so! And you can do this to help other people find places. When I first arrived, Aerith showed me how to get to the airship station this way. I haven't seen her for a while, but it's been a useful thing to know.

There are a lot of ships on these worlds. Since the worlds are separated by darkness, you apparently have to take a ship to get around. They call them gummi ships--it's a strange name. Even stranger to think of the fact that there are several worlds out there. But I've been to a few, so I can attest to it.
