[It's like a mockery of her powers that have been taken away: Her transformation phrase has made her this.

As soon as she realized the heartless were coming in such great numbers, she'd pulled out her transformation wand immediately, shouted the words, and...

...slipped right into fur and skin, with a collar that resembles a pale blue ribbon and a charm in the shape of a star. Right now, it doesn't matter. An odd-colored wolf, blue, runs at top speed towards a pack of heartless, driving right into them with tooth and claw. She swipes fiercely, taking advantage of the size and strength this form gives her.

There are so many! Even the new instinct that drives her will wear out at some point. She lets out a determined growl and springs at her next foe. Discarded and long forgotten, the communicator manages to record some of the fray.]

(ooc: she'll also turn back after the battle, so it will be possible to speak with her)

[At some instinctive level, she listens; the wolf springs away to the left and, as promised, narrowly misses an attack she hadn't seen coming.

[Rima watches the battle with an almost icy cool detachment, but she is very interested in the outcome even if she didn't seem that way. ]

You are very good at fighting but there are more coming. Can you get away?

But the question is lost behind the immediacy of the simpler thought of flight, wolf instincts crowding the brain of the school genius. She tears into the next few heartless with no regard for them, and uses that to make an opening for escape.]

[Not that the wolf would have been entirely overrun by those paunchy Big Bodied heartless but they certainly would have made things more difficult for her. ]

[Again she's left to wonder: who is this girl?

At least she won't have long to wait to be able to ask. Once she's far enough away from the battle, she can fade from the wolf form back to human.

It feels a bit like undressing and changing, so she makes sure to do it off-screen before getting back to the communicator. Mizuno Ami picks it up.]

[And now that it's so obvious, without even trying to hide it... What will this person think, of a werewolf, even temporarily?]

[The idea that some one can turn into a werewolf is actually fairly normal for one who is usually a vampire. True, she had never actually seen a werewolf herself but it was possible that such things existed. ]

Have you always been able to do that, change into a wolf?

[Her first thought had honestly been to make sure she was clothed. She is not used to this at all.]

No, never before. I wonder... The moogles said something was strange with their powers when they alerted us all. Could this power I gained be another effect?

[Perhaps it wasn't her ideal partnership but there just so happened to be a particular exorcist in town who was letting out some steam on the never-ending waves of heartless. He had been lashing away when he caught the curious site of a wolf fighting heartless. He started sprinting, Mugen at the ready as he kicked off from the rooftop.]

First Illusion! Netherworld Insects!

[If that wolf knew better, she'd get out of the way.]

[She doesn't know better; she's never seen or heard anything like this type of attack or power. But the arrival of a human makes her wary and she shies anyway anyway, keeping her out of the way. She leaps at the next heartless near her.]

[Worm-like creatures appeared from a bright rip Kanda's sword created in the air. They went soaring towards the heartless taking out several in its wake as he landed not too far from the wolf. He shot it a look.]

You're in the way.

[She can't be in his way when she's purposely gone the opposite direction to give him space to fight. So why is he...?

Doesn't matter, right now. She snaps at the Heartless, bringing her target to ground, and tears at it until it's finally gone (for now).]

[He's moved forward, grounding and impaling everything that so much as gave him a threat. They brought reinforcements and it made him grin. Three big heartless were charging at him. He charged forward, not even leaping to get them from behind, He brought his sword forward and they blocked sending him backwards, his boots skidding on the ground. He grinned.]

Nice try.

[And he lunged forward with amazing speed, with a blink of an eye he was behind them Mugen glowing softly as the big heartless dissolved. He flexed. He hadn't quite healed yet, after all.]

[It's disconcerting to part of her, to fight this wildly and fiercely, with physical strength and sharp teeth and a strong jaw instead of by her strategies and planning.

But she has to adjust. She tears without mercy, something many would be reluctant to believe of her, but the Heartless are her foe.

She leaps at one, driving her full force and weight into it. It falls back, and dissolves.]

[He's finished his horde and he's moving on, just as much of a prowl as the beast fighting around him. Whatever heartless rushes at him he slices.]

[She's good at suiting herself to the pace of someone else, and she proves a good partner: strong, taking out the ones that might be a problem otherwise, letting him have the space to take out his own foes. A guttural growl comes from her throat as she lunges towards the next.]

[Oh, why hello there, suspiciously blue werewolf! A random Setsuna has joined your party!

...And is untransformed! What?]

Hello!

[And her backup staff (thank goodness she thought of purchasing it when it was available at the shop!) connects like a bat swing to a Heartless' head, sending it flying.]

[What do you mean? Her blue fur isn't suspicious at all and that collar totally does not look a bit like Mercury's choker necklace.

She gives a sharp bark to acknowledge Setsuna, and then leaps at the nearest heartless. She has strength and claws in this form; she's learning how to use them to her advantage. It's more brutal than she's ever fought before, but it's her only weapon right now.]

[Well, admittedly, werewolf is pretty cool. Setsuna's own power isn't quite as offensive, but...

...she shows it just as a Heartless is about to leap on her. However he suddenly goes right through her, not comprehending what happened before it, too, is sent up into the air by the hammer. Other Heartless attempt the same, only to phase right through Setsuna as if she weren't even there.]

[There are too many heartless, far too many to have the luxury of tracking down what's happened to their powers. All she knows is that her transformation phrase resulted in this, ever since the moogles said their powers were disrupted, too.

It's still shocking, to flinch in sympathy as the heartless is about to hit Setsuna and then - nothing. Passes right through.

No, Ami, Setsuna couldn't be a ghost. Don't be distracted!

The heartless she's just attacked falls and fades.]

[No, she's no ghost. Its simply her new power. And she's using it to her advantage - she's completely phased out, except for the hand holding her weapon. The chance of them actually hitting her is slim at this point, which is good for her...bad for the Heartless.

She did, however, see the look on the werewolf's face.]

Don't worry! I'm fine!

[She fights her way towards Setsuna, to let them stand together and cover each other as they've always done in battle. It's different now, but surely they'll find their own stride and sync again.

The wolf lets out a guttural snarl before leaping at the next heartless, straight toward its throat.]

[Its quite awhile, but Setsuna does find that beat and, once she has it, she doesn't stop. The Heartless keep coming, but she's determined not to allow herself to show weakness or frustration. That would only bring even more Heartless.

When at last there is a pause in the seemingly endless horde, Setsuna turns to Mercury, wiping the sweat off of her brow.]

Are you all right?

[With the heartless gone, she abandons the form she doesn't quite feel comfortable in. Ami - remarkably, clothed - stands tall in the wolf's place.]

I'm alright. [She looks a bit scuffed up and nicked, but not seriously injured. Her eyes run over Setsuna to be sure of the same.]
