[A rather tall man stumbled out of the shadows that graced the alley between two buildings. The former general had been nearly certain that when everything had vanished into the that suffocating darkness that he would never see any light again. The fact he had somehow been released from it or somehow had managed to escape was overshadowed rather quickly as he lifted his gaze to take in his surroundings, it was painfully obvious within seconds of the cat-like eyes surveying the buildings and people that he was in no city or landmass that could be found on the world he was from.

The appearance of an actual live moogle and the news it brought merely confirmed the suspicions that he wasn't anywhere close to home and also confirmed that home such as it had been currently no longer existed.

Once the creature had left, he considered what it had told him, considered what had occurred before he had been brought here and came to the conclusion that it was validly possible those from his own world were here and perhaps might be able to answer questions he had refrained from bothering the moogle with.

It took merely a moment's study of the device before it was turned on, the video function showing the General in uniform, standing before a nondescript wall that belonged to whatever building rested behind him. Despite the emotions that had been raised by experiencing what he had previously thought would have been the death of him, he looked rather calm and collected as he spoke into the machine he held.]

If there are any from the world of Gaia or if there are any Shinra personnel in this world, I would appreciate it if you would contact me.

[That said, he turned the feed off and decided to turn his attention toward investigating the town he was now in until someone contacted him and in the event that no one did, perhaps he would find someone else to pose his questions to.]

[Cloud couldn't believe what he was seeing. How could that man be here?! He had defeated him! How could he have clawed his way back from whence he came and-]

Sephiroth!

[He was also mentioning a world that sounded familiar and for once, he wasn't looking for Cloud. It confused the blond and made him angry all at once.]

What are you doing here?! Answer me!

[Well that was unexpected and it took him a moment to figure out just whom the blond addressing him had to be, but even after his memory gave him the name he had his doubts. For one thing the young man carrying that name had been rather younger and smaller in size. Still there was only one man he knew of with that particular hair style, even if the blond was giving him one rather hostile look currently.]

I have no answers for you Strife.

Don't lie to me!

[What? No taunts? Cloud can't help but be even more confused and even a little out of his element. Sephiroth always made him yell and get a migraine because of the taunting and the Darkness.]

I defeated you months ago. How'd you escape the Darkness again?

[A pale eyebrow lifts slightly in response to the yell and then the rest of the statement.]

I have no reason to lie, what would it gain me to do so?

We've never fought, so I don't see how you can claim that you defeated me. As for how I escaped from the Darkness which claimed my world, I do not know.

What?

[He shook his head, confusion and anger all at once is just giving him a headache and epic frown.]

We fought all the time! Because you just couldn't leave me alone.

[The last part of the sentence caught his ears.]

Your world?

[You're not the only one confused Cloud, nor the only one gaining a small headache from this. He kept his calm though despite the accusing words.]

Yes, my world. This Darkness you speak of has apparently destroyed it despite any efforts I made trying to keep it from doing so. [It had been a lot like trying to futility fight against an act of nature happening really, the shadows had been easily enough dealt with until the sheer numbers had gotten entirely too overwhelming and then the fact that whenever the light had been completely snuffed out of one place it was as if the place had indeed ceased to exist. Needless to say rather unnerving really and he was still dealing with the emotional baggage that came from seeing and experiencing all of that, even if it didn't physically show. Which was possibly why he decided to continue on and deal with the accusation that Cloud had levied against him.]

I never knew you until you enlisted into Shinra's army and then it was only because I choose to at least acknowledge those who fight with me and my friends that I even know of you at all. I can assure you we've never fought even once. In fact, I have no interest in you, so why should I follow you everywhere you go?

Shinra? I've never heard of it.

[Was this another lie? Another way to get into Cloud's head like he had done several times before? Cloud, this time, couldn't be sure. Not with other people finding doubles or knowing about doubles. Leon himself apparently had one. Could this Sephiroth really be another one of those?]

Radiant Garden never had an army called Shinra and you were certainly never in it.

[He scoffed, time to just end this now.]

Then keep disinterest with me, don't follow me. It's the last thing I need from someone like you.
