[A rather tall man stumbled out of the shadows that graced the alley between two buildings. The former general had been nearly certain that when everything had vanished into the that suffocating darkness that he would never see any light again. The fact he had somehow been released from it or somehow had managed to escape was overshadowed rather quickly as he lifted his gaze to take in his surroundings, it was painfully obvious within seconds of the cat-like eyes surveying the buildings and people that he was in no city or landmass that could be found on the world he was from.

The appearance of an actual live moogle and the news it brought merely confirmed the suspicions that he wasn't anywhere close to home and also confirmed that home such as it had been currently no longer existed.

Once the creature had left, he considered what it had told him, considered what had occurred before he had been brought here and came to the conclusion that it was validly possible those from his own world were here and perhaps might be able to answer questions he had refrained from bothering the moogle with.

It took merely a moment's study of the device before it was turned on, the video function showing the General in uniform, standing before a nondescript wall that belonged to whatever building rested behind him. Despite the emotions that had been raised by experiencing what he had previously thought would have been the death of him, he looked rather calm and collected as he spoke into the machine he held.]

If there are any from the world of Gaia or if there are any Shinra personnel in this world, I would appreciate it if you would contact me.

[That said, he turned the feed off and decided to turn his attention toward investigating the town he was now in until someone contacted him and in the event that no one did, perhaps he would find someone else to pose his questions to.]

[Forgive him for this next question, but he doesn't exactly see the logic in your words.]

How would it do that?

He goes quiet. He's not really sure how it does himself, so he takes a moment to answer.]

Have you ever just wanted to scream as loud as you could?

[He gives the blond a brief dubious look, silent for a good minute as he actually considers the question instead of dismissing it out of hand.]

...possibly. Why?

Because, it doesn't really do anything, but it makes you feel better. That's why people do stuff like that, even if it looks stupid or crazy. It doesn't solve anything, but...if you don't have a cool head later, it will only get in the way and it might cost you.

[He thinks he finally gets what your getting at here, though he doesn't see any use for it himself unfortunately.]

I see. You vent your emotions through your actions and thus calm yourself.

I have learned to keep my calm and a 'cool head' despite any emotions which might rise. Screaming and ranting has little place on the battlefield where your enemy will cut you down regardless or even find your location due to your actions and thus provoke a fight better off avoided.

[He leaves off the titles that usually come with that name since he sees no use for them here where the company which gave them to him no longer currently exists.]

[He leaves off his title as well, but he smiles brightly.]

So, Sephiroth, what's your world like?

[He's not exactly certain how to answer that question, but he'll try to answer, even if most of his experience with the world happened within Shinra's walls and on fields of battle.]

It held mountains, forests, oceans, canyons and deserts as well as frozen tundra. Most of my experience has been on the field of war or within the service of the company which raised me.

I am wondering now though if it wasn't the company's actions which provoked the attack on our world.

[The last sentence is said in a lower and quieter tone than the rest, one might call it thinking aloud, but perhaps the young man could confirm or deny the possibility for him.]

[He nearly asks Sephiroth to be more specific, until the man talks about his experience. While he doubts the company had any doing in the attack on Sephiroth's world, he has to ask.]

What sort of actions?

Experiments into human genetics, among other such unpleasant things.

[Good luck dragging any real details out of him, even if the company no longer exists, there's just some things you just don't talk about on public airways.]

Okay so the company was creepy. That's not a reason for everyone on your world to suffer.

Perhaps not, but is there a known explanation for why it happened?

They call it Darkness.

However, do we know why it attacked us? Is there a reason behind the actions of it or is it just because we were there and there is no reason?

It feeds on people's hearts or something. So maybe it was attracted to the hearts there?

Possibly.

[Though that is one hell of a mental image he has now despite the fact it doesn't actually add up with what he's actually witnessed. But then he never did understand anything that dealt with emotions to begin with, beyond the fact they could get one into deep trouble or killed.]

[He smiles at Sephiroth, though whether he's trying to reassure him or himself isn't clear.]
