[The feed was recording an angle facing a very long drop down to a nicely decorated courtyard between various tall buildings. By the look of the shops and inns visible in the camera's vision, it was obviously Traverse Town and this was being taken from the top of the gizmo shop. What the person was recording was hard to tell, they were amateur with their movements and the courtyard seemed very empty until Kadaj's excited giggling fit commenced from behind the camera as Dante's low rumbled chuckle echoed beside it.]

Look at that. Just in time.

[A massive horde of heartless were now trampling about the courtyard. The camera was fixated on the largest bodies, those big round heartless that had no shame and had rounded about in high numbers. Dante whistled.]

You know, it's not so much the fact they're appearing in high numbers that scares people, it's the fact that they're so out of proportion. See? That one there, that guy is like an amoeba. An amoeba with antenna's and really shiny little balls for eyes. You don't where the hell it's going to move next or if it's going to change into something else, the things don't even have a shadow.

My favorites are those big daddy's, there. They're so huge. [And another chuckle.] I wonder what they're filled with. Do Heartless even eat? The belly had to come from somethin'.

[And he saw one charge at the blind and bounce against a wall.] Oh. [ The gears were turning.]

Hey, Kadaj. Call your brother. You think if someone fell on one of 'em they'd bounce back up?

[End feed.]

I admit, this is more entertainment than I expected.

If I were you, I would worry more about getting your own heart eaten, little brother. The Heartless may be amusing to watch, but they don't seem to play nicely.

Cousins once or twice removed, perhaps. I'd hesitate to even call them demons, though they bear similarities.

[Kadaj's voice comes from some distance behind Dante, as he slowly approaches, then leeeeans forward to try and push him.]

[Dante gripped onto the edge. Why did he know this was going to happen?]

What are you, scared? You're afraid of a big daddy?

[He shook his head, trying to appear flippant.]

I'm as afraid as you aren't. Unless you're scared.

[Right now she is currently in the middle of a battle of heartless, shadows don't really have a mind of their own so she's keeping to voice to refrain from showing just how badly beaten she is.]

I'm fine, the heartless are just a little pesky every now and again.

[And Dante just leeeans back. That voice. He's in heaven all over again~]

Why am I not surprised. I gotta say, you keep fighting the heartless like that and I gonna start feeling a little jealous.

Not of you, the heartless. They're hanging out with you more than I am. Of course, they're trying to mount you and all...[But that's probably something else they have in common. Get it?]

[Because the innuendo was the last thing on her mind right now.]

[If Dante looks closely enough, he might be able to see a telltale speck of blue and black allllllllllll the way across the courtyard, literally standing on the railing above the decorative fountain just under the entrance from the First District. It's Rinoa, and she apparently doesn't care that she might plunge a story down to break her neck or something, because she's not giving this place up without a fight. She's been in more hopeless situations before!]

Dante, are you being ridiculous again?

[She's got her comm unit clipped to the waistband of her overskirt, so Dante's going to hear her fine but all he's likely to see is that drop down to the courtyard. Oh, and her hand held out in front of her and shooting ice down on the Heartless while Angelo distracts them by rushing in and attacking them with her teeth.]

[At first, because those big daddy's were just so distracting, he didn't catch sight of Rinoa but being the only speck of blue made her stand out. He leaned over the edge and frowned.]

Not as crazy as you. You're running into a darkness-fest. You know that, right?

I know. I've done dumber things.

[Like walk straight up to a Sorceress and ask her to put on a magic-repressing bracelet. Not her brightest move ever. But she drops to the ground just next to the fountain, then starts walking towards the mess of monsters - and really, they're not that strong. There's a lot of them, but Traverse never gets the really terrible ones. The big round ones are frustrating, yeah, but for the moment they're at the other end of the very long courtyard, so she's got the Shadows and Soldiers and flying magic casters. And while Angelo distracts them, Rinoa just reaches out and touches them - and they freeze over where they stand.]

I wish I still had my wings, but this'll have to do for now - I'm not letting them into the First District! Are you going to help or are you just going to sit up there?

I was really gonna stay out of it but-

[And he sighed. He couldn't let a girl get hurt. That wasn't his style. Instead, an exact clone of him appeared, and then another, and another, and yet another as they all just free-fell off the gizmo shop.]

There. Are you happy now?

[She was counting on that. She can be a pretty good manipulator when she wants to be, and that definitely counted. She smiles a grim little smile as she drops to one knee, pressing the other against the ground in front of her.]

Very. Now if you could just keep those big ones distracted for awhile...

[Aaaaaaaaaand rows of ice-spikes shoot up from the ground under the Heartless, radiating in lines from her hand. Ever see a flying Soldier? Well, you have now.]
