[There's a potentially familiar face on the feed this afternoon, if anyone remembers her arriving and asking for help in the middle of that invasion. She still looks composed, but more reserved. Perhaps a little withdrawn. She misses the Hikawa Shrine and her grandfather. She misses a lot of little things about being there. In fact, she's still in the miko robes she arrived in, seated on the floor somewhere.]

Back home, I lived at a shrine with my grandfather and we would sometimes make good luck charms for those who wanted them.

[She pauses, changing the perspective of the camera to focus on a few charms she's already made, laying neatly on the floor in front of her.]

It seems we could all use a little luck. We all have something we're fighting for, after all. It might not be much, but it seems right to offer to make them for anyone here who would like one. [The communicator turns around to face Rei again.]

As long as one believes, I think so. Sometimes all it takes is a reminder like these to give us hope and inner strength.

If it no bother, I would be interested to know the exact nature of these charms. What is the meaning behind them. How are they made?

I don't mind. Where I come from, one of the major religions is called Shintoism. These charms are what we call omamori. Inside the cloth covering are pieces of paper - although some shrines use wood - with prayers on them. We then bless them through a ritual and that's what makes them special. The ones I made are meant to provide protection and happiness, but sometimes other amulets are made to focus on health, education, or even safety in traffic.
