[It's just another normal day in a strange world and Qui-Gon had found an excuse to get out of the house. He was shopping now, that same pet of his on his shoulder as he eyed and touched both trinkets and produce. There was a passive look on his features.]

Despite how different our worlds are, we can still find comfort in similarities. I wonder how this fruit tastes. [He's taken something from the racks and brings it close to his nose. His pet noses the thing as well and he beckons the padawan holding the basket to put a few of those strange fruits in there.]

Obi-Wan has told me about the diversities of this world. I'm well aware there is even differences between thoughts and ideals amongst the fellow residents. I'm curious to know, to learn, and to understand these cultures. Many things can be said when you turn an open mind and we learn to comprehend one another. We are only as distant as we allow ourselves to be.

[He finds another strange fruit he's never tasted and he puts a few of those into Obi-Wan's basket. He's even putting some strange treats in.]

It's a shame I have never tasted most of this food, much less cooked with it. Are you feeling adventurous, Anakin? Padmé?

[This could only end in two ways: disaster or victory.]

[Once Qui-Gon has decided on something, there are few things that can change his mind. Obi-Wan had suspected it was only a matter of time before his Master decided to explore and quench his curiosity. He follows quietly, watching to see what catches the other man's eye-- and the pest's nose. It's his remark at the end that really catches his attention, unable to help a grin and the teasing tone of voice that came with it.]

Do you mean to say you intend to try cooking, Master? Perhaps I should make sure we have back-up meals.

On any other note I would feign being offended but perhaps that would be for the best.

[And he's only doing it for Padmé because he knows jedi's can eat anything when hungry. Politicians... are politicians.]

[He laughs, setting the small bag of fruits Qui-Gon had been looking at in the basket.]

Fortunately for you, we've amassed a great deal of those ramen packets over time, but we can still attempt to salvage what's left if the cooking adventures go wrong, at least.

She finds herself curious about the kind of place Qui-Gon comes from though, so she'll probably ask regardless.] I never realized there could be so many different types of foods. [She peers a little more closely into the feed.] Everything there looks so unusual to me.

As it should. I come from a place where there are far too many worlds to possibly visit in a lifetime. Every planet has its own vegetation, it's own live stock. The possibilities of food are almost endless.

It sounds incredible. Our planets here don't have much life-- just the one we live on. [Granted, she knows there are other planets out there in other galaxies with life and senshi even, but that's knowledge she'll never say as Rei.] It must be nice to live in a place with so much diversity.

It's a vegetable in another world. I keep forgetting sometimes certain things look similar to others in other worlds.
