02 Strike ❀ Lost in thought and guy watching ❀ [Video/Action for Traverse Town]

[In the feed, it’s obvious that Makoto is still in Traverse Town even after all this time. She’s seated on a bench and leaning back in her seat gazing at the sky. There was something on her mind, and she didn’t realize that her comm had switched on when she placed it down on the bench]

[For a while she doesn’t say anything… without warning, she sits bolt upright and clenches a fist]

I just have to face it! I can’t just stay here forever!

[The other senshi would start to wonder why she wasn’t visiting the other worlds.. Or maybe they had noticed already. Whatever was troubling her was clearly something that she’d been thinking about for a while. Garnering a few stares from the nearby residents, Makoto nervously laughed it off, waved her hand once like she was greeting someone, and dropped her hand to her lap.]

…..

[She sighed plaintively and looked for a distraction. Thankfully she didn’t have to look long. Her eyes took on a glassy sheen to them, and seemed to dance in the light. A light blush graced her cheeks]

W-who is that? He looks so dreamy!

[She briefly wished the others were here to confirm how good looking the man was. He was carrying a bouquet of flowers… probably for his girlfriend. SIGH]

[It's starting to feel lonely again, but Ami still hopes they'll all reunite soon. Maybe they can even convince Setsuna to finally join them - but after this long, she may have to accept Setsuna has her own reasons for staying apart.

So when Makoto comes on the video feed, Ami clutches at it immediately before realizing: What will she even say? Would Makoto want to hear from her? She sticks to a polite greeting; it's the easiest start.]

Mako-chan. Are you doing well?

[Makoto doesn't realize Ami has this desire for them to all live together but she does know that if they ever want to visit another world together.. she's going to have issues]

[Of course she wants to hear from you! Though.. she does jump.]

Ami?! When did that thing turn on? Uh... I'm alright. What about you?

[And it's Ami's turn to look flustered.]

I didn't mean to interrupt!

[She'd just wanted.. she hadn't realized turning the feed on was an accident.]

No, no it's alright!

[She tried to assure her friend]

I need to learn to be more careful with this thing.

I can show you how to use more of its functions later.

But, Mako-chan... You know, it's alright if you want to come here. We'd like to see you. And I'm sure King Mickey would assign you here like before.

I'd like that. I'm still not sure how you used that filter-thingy. [Mako is so technologically inclined]

[It's still weird thinking about another her running around] Er.. I'll have to think about it. [Sorry Ami, she's got a little problem she is trying to cope with on her onezies, it's not that she doesn't want to go :<]

[Ami, of course, assumes that it is Makoto not wanting to come, and can't help wondering why, or whether she should push the issue. She decides to probe, very gently.]

Mako-chan? Is something wrong?

Wrong? [Nervous laugh] Why would anything be wrong?

[Oh, dear. Getting more and worried.]

No, it's nothing. It just seemed like...

[Ack! I wasn't trying to worry you Ami!]

So, Ami, what have you been up to lately? Been reading any good books?

[That's a pretty blatant subject change, but...

Maybe she can't force them to want to trust her.]

Mm. A few, but I've mostly been studying things relevant to these worlds. I want to find a way to harness an energy that can truly defeat the heartless.

[She needed a subject change, badly.

Aw, it's not about that. It's about wanting to face something and conquer it through your own strength.]

That's just like you. [She smiled and closed her eyes] Always working to be one step ahead.

They're the immediate threat. Besides that, if we can follow them to their source, we may find the real enemy. [She's not even sure that's Maleficent.]

[The sound of fluid piano music accompanies him as always, as if he never rests from it. He very rarely does.

Zoisite's pale grey eyes flicker to the video, where he sees another person... he can't help but feel irritated by the existence of. Why should she - they - be saved, and his master not? He speaks only her name in greeting.]

Sailor Jupiter.

What the-? [She hears the piano music, and stands up. Looking from either side it soon becomes apparent that there isn't a piano in the vicinity.]

[Sailor Jupiter?!.. But no one but the other senshi should know her by that name. This immediately puts her on edge] Who is it? Show yourself!

One of the shitennou, Zoisite. [He states the name calmly, and lets her figure out for herself that he's broadcasting through the communicator. This place makes it even easier for him.]

Zoisite?

The others told me you were here. You better not try to start any trouble! [She looked around a little longer before she figured it out. There were no characteristic swirls of flower petals, no stark gray uniform.... just who was this guy... she blinked several times]

Okay- I don't know who you are, but you're definitely not the Zoisite I know.

That is correct. We are from very slightly diffrent worlds.

As things are now, I have no quarrel with the sailor senshi so long as they leave my master alone, if he should come here.

[That really didn't quell the bulk of her confusion..]

Your master? Don't you serve under Queen Beryl?

[He is, at least, painstakingly honest, and makes no attempt to hide the truth.]

I have been unable to separate from her completely. However, I have my true memories, and I wish to protect Master Endymion.

[Mako began to rub her temple. This was too weird. Other times made sense, but other dimensions entirely? Hoo boy, this would take some getting used to. This Zoisite was essentially a stranger and she wasn't sure how much she could believe him]

Oh, I see.

It would be better if you could get away from her completely.

I cannot.

[His voice is always smooth, unruffled. But something about it with those two simple words is flat.

If he were to try to escape, Beryl has made it more than clear that she would take away what he needs most: that very self-will that lets him be of use to the master. Besides that, it would mean abandoning the shitennou to her curse. He cannot.]

[He put it so plainly and with no explanation. The senshi was clearly still confused]

Why not? Is her power over you that strong?

[He thinks for a moment, before he decides to first put it in the terms he thinks she is mostly likely to understand.]

Sailor Jupiter. Could you abandon the sailor senshi to her curse?

[And besides that...]

She would also take what is most precious to me: my memories of those times with the master. [Without those, he would not even have the will to protect him, or to care for the shitennou.]

Of course I couldn't!

[Though she thought there might be another way to fight it. Mamoru had been placed under Beryl's spell but they senshi hadn't. They fought from the outside]

[Now that was a little harder to get around. Without her memories, would she even know that she should be protecting the others?]

That sounds a bit complicated.

[Beryl has the power to force even Kunzite. All of their bodies are tied to her curse.

Ironically, he has cause to be grateful for that much: Beryl will not allow Chiba Mamoru to be harmed by Kunzite's sword. Still, it's a protection he knows better than to rely on.]

I must find a way to lift their curses also.

Yeah, totally. No one should be stuck under her power.

Here, at least, she cannot touch them. [One more reason to want to bring them all here.]

[Why thank you Zoisite. Ciel had been watching those that Ami seemed to know from home and this cinches it for Sailor Jupiter...]

[Touch the senshi, Ami will take you of herself, Ciel.]

[She would try, anyway. ~~Not afraid of you~~. Least he has no use for this knowledge.... yet.]

[Makoto can snap you like a twig, Ciel. Ami can freeze you til your face falls off. Rei can make you feel the fires of hell before you even get there. Saturn can flat out end you. Pluto can hurt. A lot. Do you have more questions?]

[Tch. Would you really attack a harmless child with such attacks? ~~Only considers himself a child when it's convenient~~. Plus.. how would you all withstand an assault from an actual demon from hell itself? The one responsible for the black death mind you....]

[They've taken out the origin of all evil, and plenty of other demons. They'll be fine. ~~Hide the fact that was really Usagi...~~]

[It will be vanquished. ~~Except for the part where doing that would mean destroying the world's future, and Usagi was forced to choose not to.~~]

It had been a while since a lady so turned Chloe's head as to make him stop dead in his tracks and entirely forget what he was doing. But, some how this lady had.
It felt like something struck him right in the heart. He had to know more about this woman.

His manner was casual when he approached Makoto and he quite easily started a conversation.]

Guten Nachmittag.

Why is a beautiful lady such as yourself looking so pensive today?

[She blinked and silently exclaimed.]

He's coming this way?!

[She clamped a hand over her mouth and tried to play it cool in the next instant]

[Guten.. what's it? Not wanting to appear too sheltered she didn't ask what that meant.]

You really think I'm- [Flustered, and noticeably so she tried to get herself under control] There's just something that's been troubling me.

What ever could be troubling a gentle flower like you? Perhaps a boyfriend?

[A leading question. He wants to find out if she has anyone. ]

A boyfriend!? [The subject matter wasn't helping her any. She clutched her skirt and looked shyly downward as she answered] N-no.. it's nothing like that.

I don't really have one of those...

[Then she looked back up, and remembered those flowers..]

Hey, shouldn't you b meeting your girlfriend? Those flowers will start to wilt if you leave them out of water too long. [She also tests the water..]

[No boyfriend? Not that her having a boyfriend would really have been the greatest obstacle, he would just have to get her to fall for him instead, but it was nice to know he wouldn't have to be careful of the boyfriend.
Chloe smiled and looked at the flowers he carried. ]

Perhaps the young lady who receives these will enjoy them.

[Why wouldn't she? So elegantly a crafted bouquet was sure to set any young lady's heart a flutter... maybe even this young lady. Chloe was tempted to see, so he didn't hesitate to place the bouquet lovingly into her arms.
The poor client for whom the flowers were really meant was totally forgotten. Ciel would have to refund her later.]

You will have to tell me if she does?

[He means you Makoto. These flowers are now for you. ]

Maybe these will at least be able to cheer you up a enough that you can forget your troubles.

[Oh no. She knows Makoto can be a little boy crazy sometimes, but...]

[And strangely enough, Makoto has NOT been struck by any arrows]

[PLOT TWIST. Rei will be mad when she finds out it's not the arrows fault.]
