eleventh flame ☀ video / action on Destiny Islands

[Zuko is on the beach of Destiny Islands, punching a palm tree as if imagining he's striking Leon's face every time. Already he's blooded and bruised his knuckles, but he doesn't care. His girlfriend just broke up with him. For an older guy she barely even knows!]

Are you happy now, creep?! You got what you wanted, since Mai likes you so much more than me! I can picture your stupid smug face, with that stupid haircut, and your stupid fur jacket, with your stupid little scar! [He lands a punch for each one of them, and there's the sound of splintering wood on the last.] You're meant for each other, since you're both so boring and depressing and--

Maybe we should do something, kupo.

Are you kidding me? We have front row seats to the drama, kupo!

[The two moogles continue to record the scene as it unfolds. Zuko stops his rant to land a particularly forceful blow on the tree. To add insult to injury, a coconut drops down, bouncing comically off his head and into the sand. The teenager growls and kicks it in a random direction, forcing the moogles to drop the communicator and flee.

Half-buried in the sand, the camera provides one last view of Zuko as he turns and stalks away. He is furious.]

(ooc: Zuko won't be responding to any messages on the communicator. People are welcome to find him sulking around the Islands, though.)

[Yuuki isn't coming herself, but she felt bad for him, so she had the moogles wrap up a piece of her birthday cake and take it to him. It's really good because Aidou made it! She promises she didn't touch it for once.

Anyway, she kind of knows how he feels...so she wanted to do something nice for him. Sometime later she sends him a text:]

I hope everything ends up working out for you.

[Zuko is surprised to receive it; he's even more surprised when it turns out to be from someone he barely knows. Nonetheless, he's touched at the gesture, enough so that he sends a text back.]

Thank you.

Don't worry about it! It might not be my place to say so, but...I think something might be going around, so don't take it too hard, okay?

My girlfriend just broke up with me. How can I NOT take it hard?

Is she really the type of person who would do that?

She has before.

[O-oh. Way to be difficult, Zuko. 8|]

But then...she came back before?

[Ami's far away from the islands, and would find it hard to intrude anyway, but she wants to at least make an effort to talk.]

Zuko. If you'd like to talk...

[Zuko has purposefully been avoiding the network, but Ami, at least, deserves a response.]

No, I don't. There's nothing to talk about.

[She really, really hopes this doesn't have to do with encouraging Rei to talk to him...]

Will you be alright there?

I'm fine, okay?

I don't mean to say you can't. I just can't help being concerned for you.

I know. But there's nothing you can do, so forget about it.

Would you like to do something to take your mind off things? [She's not sure... breaking everything in sight is the most productive way, Zuko.]

Like what?

I don't know. Whatever you might enjoy. [She's just trying to be helpful, really!]

I don't want to do anything.

[He sounds every bit the petulant teenager right now, but he doesn't care. He'd rather be left on his own to sulk.]

That's alright, too. If you need anything later, just call; I'll do what I can.

[And if it's about Rei after all... she hopes it will resolve itself well.]

[If she had seen the video, she probably would have done a better job at avoiding where the young man might have been, in order to give him some privacy. But she hadn't been paying attention at the time it was transmitted, instead occupying herself sightseeing on the island. It's not often she gets to see something as tropical as this.

In her wandering she catches sight of the dark haired and apparently broody Zuko. Still a distance away, she stops to watch the figure for a moment to try and figure out exactly he was up to before stepping over to say hello.]

Are you alright? [An innocent enough question, right?]

[Zuko is less than happy to be disturbed. He'd tried to find a quiet part of the beach where he would be left alone, since he couldn't bring himself to go home just yet. Especially if Mai was still there -- she was probably taking the time to wreck his stuff even now.]

I'm great. [He doesn't look at the unfamiliar girl, just picks up a rock and hurls it angrily into the sea.]

[Oh, you're doing peachy alright. She can tell that much. Nice throw though Zuko]

I can tell. [She bends down and picks up a stone, holding it out to the boy. He might just remind her a little bit of Kanda.] I'm a stranger, so you don't have to tell me anything. But you're pretty bad at lying. [Or maybe it was sarcasm. That was unimportant.]

[Zuko looks at the stone offered and then at her, but he doesn't take it.]

I was being sarcastic. [He turns on his heel and walks off, hoping she won't follow. He doesn't want to be bothered, but likewise he doesn't want to take out his bad temper on people who don't deserve it.]

Hm. I figured that was possible. [But wait, hey. He's walking off. She frowns.] Turning your back on someone trying to be helpful is pretty rude!

If there's something bothering you that badly, You can't just ignore it. It's probably best to do something about it. [And sorry, she's going to follow. For a bit anyway. Unless it's really apparent he wants time alone.]

[Zuko stops again, and rounds on her. He's really trying to keep his temper under check, but it's difficult when someone can't take a hint.]

There's nothing I can do about it, so why don't you mind your own business?

[She realizes she's probably barking up the wrong tree at this point. Oops, she'll stop walking, tossing the stone at him gently instead. That doesn't mean she's not going to fix Zuko with a cross little look.]

If you're that upset you should be able to find something you can do about it!

Ouch-- what was that for? [He rubs his arm where the stone hit him.] I just told you, there's nothing I can do. It's over.

[o-oops. She'd mean't for him to catch that.] You were supposed to catch it! I'm sorry! [She does frown though, shaking her head.]

Does it have to do with a girl then? [Just a hunch, considering the mess she's seen going around with everyone else.]

[Zuko's expression answers the question for her, and he turns and continues to stalk off. Sometimes he doesn't understand girls at all.]

[Yep, that's obvious. She's not going to follow, but she does lift her hands to her mouth to shout after him.]

Maybe when people stop acting strange things will sort out! Good luck! Don't give up!

[Girl troubles?]

Do you have to be so loud?

[This is helping right?]

[Yeeeahno. Ignoring the message.]

Oi. I am speaking to you.

Everything's fine.

[Slices flying coconut in half, then in fours, catching piece of it.] Want me to kill the guy for you?[She doesn't knows who's he talking about, but where's violence - there's she.] If that makes you stop throwing coconuts at me, I'll do it for free.

[Zuko tenses, watching her warily. He's dealt with her type before, and he doesn't doubt she'd follow up on a threat like that.]

No, don't kill anyone. It won't make a difference anyway.

[She makes her way over to a rock and sits down, crossing legs and taking a bite of coconut.]
Sure it will make difference. Person will be dead. Name is Katarina, in case you change your mind about it. Be free to call for me. I don't mind sharpening my blades.

But it'll make Mai hate me more, so it won't fix anything.

[He watches her carefully. As much as he hates Leon, even he wouldn't go that far.]

I'm Zuko.

I'm professional, so no one will know if that's what you're worried about. [She smirks] I assume she is your girlfriend. I see the problem now. [Oh she does. Only she isn't the type to offer help of consoling. She is woman of action. Thus the offer.]

[Zuko's message alarmed Tidus, so as soon as he saw him, he ran after him.]

How's your head?

[Ugh, Tidus saw that? Did the whole network see it?]

It's fine.

[Zuko kicks the sand in annoyance and walks on.]

[Tidus continues to follow him until he catches up, walking beside him.]

But you don't seem fine.

That's because I'm not! All of a sudden Mai acted like she didn't trust me, and then she admitted she'd spent time with some older guy! And when I got mad about it, she broke up with me! Girls don't make any sense!

[Zuko balls his hands into fists, and continues to storm ahead. It's mostly the truth, but he's been careful to avoid mentioning his feelings for Rei. He's so angry and confused and this is all happened so quickly. There's one all this has vindicated him of, though -- his jealousy of Leon wasn't just paranoia after all.]

He'd better not show his stupid face to me ever again, for his own good.

[Tidus pauses mid-step, his eyes widening in realization. That guy...]

You mean it was Leon and that girl he wanted to be classy to...that was Mai?!

[Too shocked to move, he waits until Zuko's several yards ahead before he catches up.]

That's so weird. But do you know what they were doing? Maybe they weren't on a date...

[Look who came to check on you because he was worried, Zuko. Your one and only BFF. Stitch also throws a stray coconut at him. Let him take his frustration out on something else, he figures.]

Grumpy is extra grumpy today. [He walks in a circle around Zuko, curiously watching him.] Pretty lady will come back. Stitch doesn't know why, though.

[Sorry, Zuko...]

[On reflex Zuko turns and shoots down the coconut in midair; it explodes in a burst of flame. He stares at Stitch.]

What would you know? She won't come back -- she likes someone else!

[Exploding coconuts looks like such a fun game, he eyes another one near the water. But now's probably not the best time, or so he tries to reason with himself.]

Should Stitch go spy? Make a mess? Stitch knows a lot of tricks.

Do you enjoy making a fool of yourself in public or is this just your way of crying for attention.

Kick that trees ass. Who's the guy runnin' around stealing people's girls? I actually thought you and the emo chick made a nice couple...
