≋ One - With Moogles

[The device switches on in mid-sentence, though the speaker is definitely a moogle. Two moogles, actually, one holding the device, the other standing next to a blond boy slumped up against a brick wall, fully dressed, head lolled down as if asleep.]

-even awake, kupo? His eyes are closed!

With as much noise as you're making, kupo, he shouldn't be. Hey, are you okay?

[The moogle pokes one fuzzy paw into the boy's cheek, pushing his head back far enough to show his face - a very familiar face to some, indeed. But his eyes still don't open, and once the moogle stops pushing his head falls back to his chest, the rest of his body not moving even a little.]

...I think something's really wrong with him! Anyone know who this is, kupo?

I don't know, but let's get him to the hotel.

((ooc: Ven's still in a coma, so replies will be coming from moogles. Decided to delay Flynn's intro until tomorrow.))

[Making his way to the hotel he lets a moogle lead him to the room.]

He's still not awake?

[The moogle shakes it's head and opens the door to Roxas' room. Sora walks over to him and takes a look at his nobody...but Something felt off. The state he was in looked familiar. Like Kairi when she lost her heart someone back in Hallow Bastion. The only problem was, Roxas is a nobody. He had no heart to lose. So what was going on?]

Does anyone know what happened to him? [He looks to the moogle in the room.]

Nobody does, kupo. Mogili found him in one of the alleys but he wouldn't wake up, so she came to get the rest of us.

[The boy hadn't moved from when they'd set him on the bed, looking for all the world like he was asleep.]

He was wearing this, kupo - we took it off to make him more comfortable.

[And the moogle hands Sora a complicated harness attached to a piece of armor - a shoulder piece, with a large circular area over the part where the shoulder would actually go. The clasp on the harness is silver and in the shape of a strange symbol (http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100809124858/kingdomhearts/images/a/a2/Symbol_-_Keyblade_Master2.png).]

[While the moogle goes to get the item they removed, Sora moves closer and decides to give waking the boy up a try of his own.]

Hey Roxas! ROXAAAS! ROXAS!

[Nope nothing...but, it was worth a shot! He frowns worriedly and takes the item the moogle hands over to him.]

This symbol... [It looked a little familiar actually. Who had he seen wearing this? He lifts his gaze off the armor and back to the sleeping boy. The clothing... it all looked familiar. Was this...]

...Ventus? Is that you?

[DESPITE THE SHOUTING, the boy still doesn't respond. The moogle winces and raises little furry paws to cover its ears - wherever they were.]

So this isn't your guy? We get people falling out of the sky all the time here, kupo, but they always come around sooner or later. He doesn't even move!

[...Except, now, he is. Minorly - very minorly at first - his fingers start to bend just a little, so little it was easy to miss. What's harder to miss is the way his arm seems to float up by itself, stretched out in front of/above him, fingers moving as if to grip something. He holds that pose for a few moments, then the arm falls back to the bed as though nothing happened.]

Well, he's not the guy I thought he was, but I do know him...

[Sora attention snaps back to to Ven when he lifts his arm up.]

So much for not movi- [And then just as suddenly as it happened it stops and Ven is lifeless again. He lightly shakes the boy's shoulders to try and get him back.] Wow, hey, no, no. Don't go back to sleep. Ventus? Ventus!

[Stop shaking him, Sora! It's doing absolutely no good. Except for his eyelids open at one point, a result of the shaking and not a conscious effort, and they are very clearly empty. Whatever else has gone on with Ven, if Sora remembers correctly, Kairi had the same empty eyes on his first journey.]

W-wow! [Sora lets go of Ventus in surprise when those lifeless eyes fall open. He'd never forget that look because of Kairi and even on a near stranger's face, the look was just as unsettling and heartbreaking.]

Oh no...

Oh no? What's wrong, kupo?

[The moogle can't see Ven's eyes from his height.]

[Sora looked down at the moogle worriedly.]

He's... lost his heart. I've seen this before, his heart is trapped somewhere so he's not a heartless, but he's not conscious either...

[Well, whoever this guy was, he definitely wasn't a Nobody like Roxas. Which would perplex Sora more if he wasn't so worried... and sadder than he should have been. His heart even ached... which was really strange. He'd hadn't felt like that since he and Roxas left Twilight Town for the first time.]

Anyway... I think I can help him! [He offers the moogle a small but confident smile.]

[The moogle will... just let you contemplate that in silence for a minute, Sora.]

If you can, that's great, kupo! What're you going to do?

[That was a very good question Mr. Moogle.]

Well, ... I have to find where his trapped heart is and get it back to him.

But, I don't know how long it'll take and he's going to need watching after...

You guys think you can watch him? [He almost feels back asking this of the already over worked moogles.]

Uhmmm... [It might be the first time in the history of Traverse Town that a moogle was baffled, but honestly they're already doing a lot.]

We could try, kupo. There IS a lot going on, though.

[Sora nods and looks down at him with a frown... but then he smiles and gently starts to sit Ventus up.]

Then the first thing I'll do, is take him home! He can have my bed and mom will keep an eye on him while I'm gone. She's home a lot anyway.

[Most kids bring lost puppies home. Sora... wasn't most kids.]

Did he have any other belongings? [He starts to put the blanket around his shoulders.]

[Ventus' body goes along with whatever's done to it, flopping around like a ragdoll. There's possibly a little bit of conscious control, as Sora could have been smacked in the head a time or two but it just misses him. The moogle shakes its head.]

Nothing, kupo. If anything shows up, we'll let you know.

[Sora loads the guy up on his back and heads back to the gummi station.]

Don't worry, man. I'll get your heart back. Until then, I think you'll like the islands. It's a lot nicer than an empty hotel room.

[He smiles and buckles Ven into a seat for the ride home.]

[Ven doesn't make any response on the trip to the gummi ship, but his fingers twitch a couple of times - easy enough to miss in the movement of walking. However, once they're in the ship, and Sora mentions his heart and the Islands?]

[Slowly, but surely, his hand comes up once again - once more clenching his fingers as if he's grasping something. Only this time, it works - with a fwash, his Keyblade appears in his hand, aimed directly at Sora. He holds that position for a few seconds, then his hand twitches, enough to move the tip of the keyblade over a few inches, so the light that suddenly manifests from it misses hitting the other boy. The shape of a keyhole of light is traced in the air for a moment, then explodes outward into a bright, shining light, roughly oval-shaped and certainly big enough for a person to walk through.]

[Sora watches Ventus reach out for that invisible something again... though the movement looked a little familiar.]

What are you-

[When that familiar light collects around Ven's hand, Sora steps back and stares frozen to the spot.] Keyblade?! Whe- How-!

[His lose of words would have to wait because the guy was charging up an attack and Sora needed to get out of the way. Ducking to the ground he watches in horror and confusion as the light shoots out of the keyblade and opens a doorway before them.]

How'd you-? [He says shakily and looks between the portal and the unconscious new keybarer before getting back onto his feet. He circles the portal and looks back to Ven.]

Is this where you want to go? [Sora goes back over to him and unbuckles the seat-belt.]

Okay, but from now on you need to be more careful where you set up those portals, man.

[Picking Ven back up he walks them through the new doorway... because that's just what you do when people form strange new doorways for you!]

[He's not new! He's being doing this longer than you have :(]

[But that's a moot point for the moment, as Ven is hauled up and draped on Sora's back again. The Keyblade has disappeared and he's once again limp, but also slightly restless at the same time. His hands are the most obvious thing, as his fingers twitch sometimes, occasionally gripping something invisible.]

[The portal, though, puts the pair of them right in a place that would be frighteningly familiar to Sora - the market square of Radiant Garden's burrough.]

Radiant garden? Why'd you wanna come here?

[He looks behind them to see if the portal is still there... but like most of the portals he's encountered, this one disappears as well.]

...Oh man... looks like we'll have to use the public gummi station here. Gah, and you're getting pretty heavy to...

[He laughs a little and starts carrying Ventus to their new destination.]

[You're expecting him to say why? He doesn't even know what's going on himself! But he'll just go along with Sora - he doesn't have much of a choice, anyway.]
