[The heartless have been getting to quite a few people lately. It's hard to tell at first whether Ami is one of them. She's inside, seated at a small table and playing chess against herself. Masters of the game would note the arrangement of the board as a very famous end game maneuver. She's testing it again, noting its weaknesses and the ways to defend against it.

It's keeping her mind off the shadows, and the things that always seem to not-quite-be-there when she looks. It's keeping her mind off the doubts, the worries, the insecurities. But there's very little of her usual gentle smile despite the seeming calm. She has a perhaps not-so-incongruous question.]

What are the things you do to relax and unwind your mind?

Radiant Garden might work, but with that mean old lady living around there, I don't know what could happen.

Just for now, then, we'll look for somewhere else instead.

I can help you as best as I can. Oh! What about Twilight Town, would that work?

It might. Does it have the right soil composition for growing strawberries? Appropriate sun and shade and water?

Of the soil. We could test soil samples for the ph content and composition.

[Annnd, Yuiko is giving you a blank look, she doesn't get it at all.]

All of those things contribute to a plant growing its best. Some of them are very delicate, but others are hardy and grow in almost any conditions.

O-Oh! I didn't know that. i don't think we've ever covered it in class.

[And now she has to confess.]

I looked up some information about it in the library back home to help out Mako-chan.

Ohhhh, I didn't know that.

You should study more carefully. [Normally, there wouldn't be that very slightly sharp tone; but Ami is not entirely herself today.]
