[Video/Action] x 010 || Traverse Town

[Feed showed the blond lying on his bed in his room. The window was open so that fresh air could enter, making curtains sway in small breeze. And while his room looked as usual, not the most clean part of the house, but more tidy than his room back on Earth, he never actually noticed a heartless floating in upper corners of the room.

With hand thrown over his face, Jounouchi felt sick. He sighed heavily turning to his side, facing the wall. Every night for past week, he had this heavy, gut clenching feeling. A low, muffled grumbles and mumblings came from him]

Heh... I knew I wasn't good at school... but to tell me to actually drop it... I knew I was useless...

[A pause]

I have no job... can't even protect myself less people I care about...

[...]

I couldn't save her... it should have been me, not her... not Shizuka...

[Well, now. This was strange.]

What are babbling on about, Jounouchi. Get up.

[He didn't even move a finger. And it seemed like the room got even more darker...]

Nothing important... Why should I get up?

There's a heartless in your room, get rid of it.

Stop talking nonsense Kaiba. There's nothing here...

I'm looking at it, idiot. Get up.

[Sits up and looks around.] Kaiba, you are seeing things. [The heartless is above his head. He doesn't looks like he has any will to continue looking, but stands up]

Good. Now get out of that room.

Why? [Glares at feed] There's nothing wrong with the room. [Walks around. Several other heartless peek from the window. He doesn't notices them since he is in other side of the room.]

Are you blind? You're being surrounded by heartless, idiot!

[He growls and turns on the light. Any heartless that was lurking disappeared from the sight... for now. He glared even more at the feed.] Listen Kaiba, thanks for caring, but there's nothing here. I'm tired and I'm going to bed. I'll see you in the morning. [He turns off the light again, and turns off the feed.]

[Well, god damned, Jounouchi. He is NOT losing you to heartless, he knows first hand how much that crap hurts so he's marching down the stairs to your bedroom and kicking that door open.]

I said get up!

[He jumps up in bed, startled, heart racing and almost going out through his ears, and several heartless that had swarmed up around the bed flew into the corners, under bed or through the window. Wheezing, he yelled back]

Man, what the hell is your problem!? [Nope, he didn't notice any of the heartless, and the room was still had heavy feeling to it.]

At the moment, your stubbornness is.

[And he grabs his arm and pulls him out of bed.]

I said get up.

Hey! What do you think you are doing!? [Yes, he was successfully dragged out of the bed and is now glaring at Seto.]

What has gotten into you tonight? [It's still dark in the room, so heartless near window are shuffling and trying to sneak in.]

You're sleeping in my room and I don't want to hear any complaints.

Huh? [Is totally confused] But why!?

You're slipping. I think the heartless want you and you can't even see them.

[Upon seeing the feed, Ishizu took a few moments to mentally prepare herself before heading downstairs to Jounouchi's room. After all, they were friends, right? ... Even if some part of her felt she was a bit undeserving.

Then again, she couldn't shake the feeling of there being something... off. She'd noticed it all over the network, but for it to hit her own household had her concerned.

She approached the door and knocked quietly, head lowered as she listened carefully for anything that might have given her a sign of 'come in' or 'get lost'.]

[The blond on the bed didn't move when he heard the knock on the door. And while part of his mind knew it was someone from the household, the other part wanted to shut everyone and everything away.]

What do you want? [The room seemed to darken even more after that, without Jounouchi even noticing it.]

[Now, she may not have known Jounouchi well, but she knew that wasn't quite like him. And since it wasn't a proper invitation, she didn't just barge on it in.]

It's Ishizu. I was just coming by to see if everything was all right.

[He sat up in the bed, looking at the door. Ishizu? Oh, she had come already to the house.
The heartless that was in upper corner of the room took a chance of Jou's carelessness, and glided down, nestling right behind his shoulder. Although, that wasn't the only one in the room... two others were underneath the bed, sneaking closer to Jou.]

Everything's fine. [He stood up, opening the door, with heartless following him right behind.]

[When he opened the door, she offered the younger a small, but kind smile as if it would help in some way. Though, when she takes in the surroundings, her expression falls and she narrows her eyes slightly at a spot just behind him. Her gaze doesn't linger for long, but she keeps watch from her peripheral vision, focusing on him so as not to worry him.]

Are you certain? You seem to have much weighing heavily on your mind.

[He barely smiles, turning around and walking back to the bed, sitting down. He looks at the floor for some time, and even though the window is open, the darkness from heartless seems really heavy. He rubs his eye.] Just wondering how could I be such useless brother...

[Well. Since he left the door open, she invites herself in, but doesn't dare close the door behind her.]

What makes you think you're useless?

[The room seemed to darken even more at the question. He cracked his knuckles, still not lifting his head to look at her]

What kind of brother leaves his sister behind to perish in the darkness? I should be the one still there, not her.

[Mmmnope. She eyes those Heartless as she approaches Jounouchi, as if staring them down would get them to back off. She settles herself down on the bed next to him, keeping a respectable distance between them of course.]

We all have people that we miss. My brothers are out there somewhere too, and we know full well what darkness can do to Malik. However... all we can do is hope that they will make it here safely.

[Reluctantly, simply because she's not quite a touchy person and unsure how he'd react, she reaches out to place a hand gently on his forearm.]

You mustn't let yourself think like this.

[All the darkness in room is luring few more of them to peek through the open window, but not approaching yet. Jou has his hands clenched into fists- Kaiba had told him that too... well something similar but with that meaning.]

They are guys. They can take care of themselves. What can Shizuka possibly do? She is defenseless...

[Gently, she squeezes his arm, her eyes shooting up to those Heartless in the window. Her eyes widen slightly, but she forces herself to remain calm.]

I don't know much of your sister, but I know that there is strength within her. She will be fine; she's stronger than you realize.

[She shifts uncomfortably on the bed, her hand still around his arm.]

Do you mind if we go elsewhere to speak? The air is heavy here and perhaps some fresh air will do the both of us some good.

[He shakes his head, gritting his teeth.] I shouldn't have let her leave after the tournament.

[He finally looks up at her and frowns a bit- heavy air? He doesn't feel anything. When he turns to look at it, the heartless hide by sneaking in the room in shadows.] The window is open, but I guess walk won't hurt.

[When he agrees, she flashes him one of those small smiles of hers and stands to lead him out of the room. She doesn't keep her eyes off of him for long, though - the Heartless are making her entirely too uneasy.]

Jounouchi... I am absolutely certain she will be fine. Please, you mustn't worry so much.

[As she leads him outside, she scans the area to attempt to find a populated place, though there's nothing quite in sight at the moment. Hm.]

Have you felt as if there is something watching you?

[He sighs heavily once he is on the street, as if some burden fell of his shoulders. There is still worry in him though. He'll never be calm until Shizuka is here.]

I can't help but worry. My family isn't the one that pays too much attention, or care about opinions. They find you only when they need you for something.

[He blinks at her question, looking around.] No, I haven't felt anything or saw anything. Did you?

[She notices, and she admittedly feels better as a result. And it's okay, because she'll never be truly calm until Malik and Rishid show up. She feels his pain.]

Admittedly, I worry as well. But I was told that the only thing we can do is hope.

[She frowns at the response to her question, though.]

I suppose I'm seeing things, then...

[She's keeping watch, though. Close watch.]

[The darkness seems to have lessened a lot now. He looks at the sky for a moment then back at her.] I know that's all we can do, but I hate feeling this useless. I don't like sitting around, knowing that people close to me are in danger and that I cannot help them.

[He shrugs, looking around again]It happens. Sometimes from a weird shadow shape I think it's someone.

[She lifts her hand to place it on his shoulder, offering him yet another smile.]

Believe me, I've had my fair share of that feeling already, and I haven't been here for very long. I feel restless, and I keep wondering if there really is something that can be done to try to find those we care about.

[He stops in his walk and looks at her. She has a point. Wait a minute...] Hey- when did you actually come here? [That sounded as if he just woke up and realized she's there.]

[She seems a bit confused when he stops, and she stops shortly after him and turns to look at him.]

A few days following my birthday. [Wait, he wouldn't know when that is. That's right.] Almost a week ago.

A week? For real? [What the hell was he doing when he didn't notice her presence at the house?] I'm sorry that I didn't welcome you properly. I didn't know you were here. [He had a feeling that her arrival wasn't the only thing that happened.]

[It's okay, she was usually either staying in the room she's sharing with Noel (probably when she wasn't even around or asleep) or out and about, mentally mapping the town. She offers him a smile to hopefully make him feel better about it.]

It's quite all right. I didn't exactly make the effort to make my presence known within the house. Kaiba retrieved me almost immediately upon arriving. I... I've heard that the Pharaoh is around as well, but I haven't even run into him just yet.

[He scratched back of the head] Yeah. He did the same with me. It was kind of... well, weird. Usually he gives me really hard time. [He twitches and laughs sheepishly] Okay, he still gives me a hard time, but he's somewhat... nicer now, dare I say it.

[She tilts her head slightly, then looks up at the sky.]

So I'm not the only one that's noticed. Might it have something to do with Noel?

[He blinks, shrugging] Who knows. It's Kaiba we are talking about. Sometimes, not knowing things about him is the best option.

[She shakes her head and looks back at Jou.]

Perhaps, but that isn't quite me. [After all, she had to do her research to play her game of chess to start up Battle City to begin with. Knowing people is what she does best.]
