Tide 001 ♆ [Video] (backdated to afternoon/early evening)

[Long, delicate fingers play over the edge of the little communicating device. Michiru tilts her head at it rather curiously. Interesting thing. So if what the little white... critters have told her is true, Michiru is more than a bit stuck here. This fact is a bit dismaying, but there's no sign of this on her face as she turns on her communicator. Instead, her expression is mostly serene, not quite a smile but pleasant enough.] I wonder if anyone could be kind enough to answer a few questions for me. It's very important that I find these things out.

[A pause, as she takes a moment to put her words together.] All this talk about darkness and worlds being lost is a lot to take in. But, if someone could tell me if they've seen a few people. I can offer names and descriptions, of course.

[And now she does smile, though it's a soft, almost sad sort of expression.] If anyone were to escape that darkness, I'm sure that it would be them.

[Really, Usagi was light in and of herself, wasn't she? And her friends had always been drawn along with that light. And Hotaru and Setsuna. Haruka... Well, was she being optimistic? For a moment at least, it couldn't hurt?]

I see. Well, that's good to know at least. There are people important to me in this place, after all. [So good to know these things are manageable.]

I'm sorry to hear that. [A hesitation, as though she's a little wary about asking the next question for fear of the answer.] Are they all right, this friend of yours?

[sanguineheels]

Mm! I'm sure your friends are safe.

[she waves off the apology with a smile and a subtle motion with her hand.]

Allen is Allen again. [she's not going to trouble Michiru with the other issues at hand. That's exorcist business at best, and not a problem Michiru needs to worry about.]

[with_elegance]

[A faint nod at that.] I'm glad to hear it then. It's a complicated, when someone you know is involved that way.

[sanguineheels]

Mm. It can be. But he's alright. [physically at least. She still worries about otherwise.]

I didn't mean to turn this conversation into my worries, especially with your just having arrived.

[with_elegance]

[She shakes her head.] No, no. Not at all.

I do appreciate your answering my questions. It's a lot to take in.

[sanguineheels]

It's the least I can do. [she smiles a little.] I was overwhelmed when I arrived here myself, so I want to return the favor others extended to me when I was new.

[with_elegance]

How very kind of you. [She smiles, genuinely. Though a pause here.] What's your name?

[sanguineheels]

[Oh! She totally forgot to introduce herself, didn't she?]

oh, I'm sorry. I forgot my manners. It's Lenalee. Yours?

[with_elegance]

There's been so much else to talk about, I think a little forgetfulness on both our parts is pretty excusable. [Another smile and she inclines her head, politely.] I'm Michiru.

It rally is nice to meet you, Lenalee. You've been very helpful.

[sanguineheels]

It's nice to meet you, Michiru. [Oh, the name... Hm.]

Are you from Japan? [perhaps it was a wild guess...]

Hmm? Yes, I am. From Tokyo to be precise. [A good guess. Not a wild one.]

[sanguineheels]

Ah! I thought so.. [the Japan part.]

What was it like? [considering the Japan from her world is nothing but a stronghold for the earl and akuma...]

[with_elegance]

Like? Well, somewhat more crowded than here. Full of people and life. More modern than this place too -- though that's not entirely fair. Some of the technology here is advanced enough, just... different.

[sanguineheels]

[So, different worlds after all. Even though the names of places were the same, circumstances could be completely different.]

It sounds amazing. I've only been to Japan once. [and her expression likely belies that it wasn't exactly a fun trip, either.]

[with_elegance]

[Michiru notices that expression and it has her rather curious.] But it was different than what I've described?

[sanguineheels]

Mm. Quite a bit. There isn't much left of Japan left in my world. [she shakes her head a bit.]

I'm glad it doesn't seem to be that way everywhere.

[with_elegance]

Not much left? [...that sounds terribly ominous.] What happened? May I ask?

[sanguineheels]

[Oh she probably shouldn't have mentioned that.]

It's difficult to explain. The things we fight have managed to make a stronghold there. It's enemy territory.

[with_elegance]

The things you fight? [Now Michiru is far too curious about this.] What sorts of things are those?

[sanguineheels]

Mm. [she hesitates at first, but well. This isn't their world, and the exorcists weren't exactly the subtle type on their world anyway.]

I'm an exorcist. We fought monsterous things born from sadness called akuma, and the family that could control them, the Noah.

[with_elegance]

[Michiru's brow furrows.] Akuma... [All right. None of that sounds particularly familiar, so...] Not the same enemies we've faced then.

[...she probably shouldn't have said that.]

[sanguineheels]

...You've faced something similar? [It might have been a bit of a logic leap, but the words at least implied that this woman has fought things before.]

[with_elegance]

...we've had enemies of our own. I'm not sure how similar they are. [It's a vauge answer, but she's a little defensive. It's kind of her nature. She can't help it.]

[sanguineheels]

[Lenalee isn't about to judge the young woman on being cautious, after all, in a place where you know next to nothing it's smart to err on the side of caution.]

Perhaps once you're settled in we could talk more about it. I would love to hear more about your world.

[with_elegance]

[Michiru nods a bit at that.] And I'm curious about yours as well. We'll have to speak again.
