002 ☆ audio - private to sora

[Following Lilisette's advice, Aqua had gone to Sora's room in Traverse Town to track down Ven. No one had responded when she knocked on the door, so she'd used her Master's Keyblade to unlock it (she's like to apologise later for intruding)... and it had been empty.

She couldn't imagine where Ven could have gotten to on his own, but if Sora had grown into anything like the young man she'd heard about, she knew he would do his best to keep Ven safe. Chances are they were together elsewhere right now.

So, please pick up, Sora! Big sis is worried about her bff.]

[One of the down sides to being a young hero? The home really piled up! Sora groan in frustration and face plants on top of his mountain of math home work.]

I wonder if Heartless eat math homework to...

[His plotting it cut off by the sound of his communicator ringing. Yes! A distraction.]

Hello?

Sora...

[Then there's a long pause on Aqua's end. She can't believe how grown-up he sounds to the little boy she remembers, and she wonders what else has changed as well. She takes a deep breath.]

I doubt you remember me, but my name is Aqua. I've been looking for my friend Ventus, and I heard you found him recently. Do you know where he is now? Is he safe?

Yeah, this is Sora.

[Sora says during her long pause. A newcomer maybe? Just when he was about to ask, she speaks again. He tries to remember that name, but unfortunately his memory wasn't his best tool.]

Sorry, I don't remember an Aqua. Oh, but you know Ventus?

[He glances over to the unconscious boy currently in his bed.]

Yeah, I know where he is and yes, he's very safe! ...B-but he's not well. When I found him he was in a coma...

Yes, I know Ven. He's my best friend.

[At hearing he's safe, relief spills through her. She knew she could depend on Sora.]

I'll go to him right away. If he's ready, he'll wake up. [She'd promised Terra would be there to wake him up as well, but so far... It doesn't seem like a promise she can keep.] Can you tell me which world you're on right now?

We're...

[She sounded very sincere but he just wanted to be sure. He did promise to keep Ven safe after all and Sora never liked to break a promise.]

Before I say, I just need a little proof you're really his friend. You see, I promised him I'd keep him safe until he's better. So, here we go. This question is very important!

[He looks at the star charm resting on that nightstand. It fell out of Ven's pocket awhile ago and Sora knew just how important such a thing was between friends.]

Something fell out of his pocket a few days ago. It's an important item that you share with a friend. It keeps a promise so long as it's always with you... What is it?

[She understands and respects Sora's desire for secrecy, so the question doesn't offend her. There's no hesitation in her voice when she responds.]

It's a Wayfinder -- a star-shaped good luck charm. I know, because I made it and gave it to him myself, and I have one just like it. Ven's is green, with a silver insignia in the middle.

Heh, good answer!

[Sora sounds excited when he answers. She got it right! He knew she'd get it!]

We're on the Destiny Islands. I can meet you at the gummi station and take you to him.

[Aqua laughs slightly. Sora's the same perky kid as ever.] All right, then I'll be there as soon as I can! I can't wait to see you.

[She means that pretty literally, too. There's rustling of her clothes and the start of footsteps as she gets up and heads straight to the gummi ship dock.]

[He still couldn't remember where he's met her before but hopes when he sees her in person it'll come back to him.]

See ya! [Sora cuts off the feed and heads out, asking his mom to keep an eye on their house guest while he's gone.]
