[It had been a long time since Kaname had addressed the populace as a whole.. at least intentionally. He'd managed to gather enough information from the communicator to understand more about what had transpired but even then he was still fuzzy on ... just about everything. He felt so drained, despite having slept for weeks. In that unconscious state it would have been easy for anyone to have destroyed him.. save for the lack of anti-vampiric weapons here but there were undoubtedly other ways to destroy a vampire here. That sort of vulnerability didn't appeal to him in the slightest. ]

I'd like to thank those who looked after me these last few weeks and apologize for my own negligence.

[Had he been more cautious, perhaps he would not have fallen into that trap at all. If he never saw another spinning wheel again it would be too soon]

We should view this last episode as a cautionary tale, so that history is unable to repeat itself.

[He unconsciously pressed a hand against his neck. Although the wound had already healed it was as if he could still feel the bite marks. Someone had partaken of his blood, hadn't they? Without his permission. The situation brought back to mind the unfortunate incident that had occurred between himself and that Hotaru girl. Perhaps the way he was feeling now was how she had felt when he'd done the same thing to her...

Oh.. but he did know who his attacker had been, and what her intention was as well courtesy of a couple of loose-lipped moogles...]

[This was perhaps the most awkward of all the private messages he intended to send. Aidou had been there.. allegedly to help him but there had been an unease between them since the moment the other had arrived in Traverse Town. Whatever had transpired during Aidou's time in their own world, he hadn't seen fit to mention. Kaname doubted that Aidou had answered the moogles call for his sake. Then why had he been there at all?]

[He had debated saying nothing at all...

What had Aidou, tried anyway? That part he was especially fuzzy on. All the moogles had told him was that three people had answered their call, one being Aidou, one was Rima, and the other Rumpelstiltskin. Naturally, they had warned him about Rima but that was about as detailed as they got.]

It wasn't necessary.. [Kaname tacked on as if he needed to absolve any sort of loyalty the other might have still held for him. This little game they'd been playing was getting tiresome.] Do you ever intend to tell me what's been troubling you?

[More than likely the question would be evaded but right now he didn't care. He was too tired, and run down to care.. his strength would return to him soon enough and then he'd gladly put up the usual pretenses.]

Are you disappointed that you couldn't finish what you started? [He narrowed his eyes briefly. Just long enough to make the other question whether she was going to be safe or if there would be some horrible punishment in store for her]

[What she said next gave him some pause, just what had his blood shown her? He tried to evade her direct question.]

You sound so confident.. [There wasn't much that could jar Kaname but this... this was certainly one of those instances] my objectives could always change.

[Upon looking through the network as usual, he was not expecting this message. Not. At. All. The message was rather...unexpected and something that he wasn't even sure himself he wanted to admit.

Sure, he wanted to know just why Kaname did what he did, but he knew the Kaname before him was from a completely different point in time, a time where he hadn't done what he did. Which, when he was thinking about it could be why Kaname wanted to say what he did, to understand why the relationship they had in the past was so different.

Sitting here, the feed not even switched on yet, he needed this moment to think logically about what to do. Sure, he could tell him what's been bothering him and that would get a load off his shoulders. But yet... while his brain is giving him the reasons, he was still uncertain of how to logically explain it.

After all from the beginning he had been loyal like a little puppy would his master, even if some of the time it seemed a little...over the top. But he had always believed in him, and now it was different. And once again his mind had gone back to that same thought... should he or shouldn't he tell him?

He knew Yuuki would at least want that in the open and he knew he wasn't going to let what happened get to him. After another moments of pausing and thinking, he felt as if he finally made his choice.]

[Finally switching on the feed, Aidou was clearly sitting in a darkened room. After all it was even slightly light out and Aidou didn't want to deal with that as well.]

It was necessary, after all if Yuuki were to come back, I doubt she would be happy to have known what would happen.

[Leaning back in his seat, he was thinking about how to talk about the next bit.]

Just like I know she would want me to get what is on my mind, out in the open.

[Kaname wasn't sure how long it would take Aidou to respond but he was certain that he would. Despite the animosity that had grown between them Aidou had never refused to answer his messages in the past.]

For Yuuki's sake then? [He stated, confirming his earlier suspicions. It was still difficult to think about her.. or a world without her. Aidou had mentioned her so casually, yet hearing her name was like driving a stake directly through what was left of his heart.] When she comes back.. [Not if. His voice had seemed strained when he corrected Aidou's phrasing as if he wasn't sure if he believed it.]

[Trying to regain his composure from his slip, Kaname straightened his own posture]

[He fought the urge to say something decidedly cruel to Aidou. He was using Yuuki as an excuse to continue their conversation.. was he completely incapable of deciding anything for himself? .. but he knew it was just his emotions talking... and he should be able to control those.] I'm listening.. [He tried to prompt Aidou to continue]

[The ultimate choice was his, he knew that after all, though he did appreciate the correction. He knew she would return, but his mind had been so focused on the other thing that he didn't notice his mistake.]

[Taking a deep breath, he knew that this was the time to say it now and hope to dear god he knows not to do this.]

It's... Well, honestly I know what you are like. You like to keep things to yourself and I know this and yet stayed by your side happily. Although... due to recent issues, as you can tell my attitude around you has changed.

There is nothing we could do to change what has already occurred, therefore to dwell on the past would only serve to sully our attitudes further.

Moving forward is more prudent.
