[Ven's on the comms, looking... "older" is the best word for it. It's been a very long couple of weeks, and while very, very good stuff happened, a lot of bad happened as well. And he's not where he was when he last broadcast - instead, he's sitting on a swath of green grass, a white cat with tufted ears snoozing next to him and a growing chocobo happily galloping around in the background. He's on a different world, one that they'd been looking for since Aqua came back.]

So now Mickey's talked about it a little. I wish we could tell you more - we don't know a lot about the history of the Keyblades, or how they work specifically. They've been around for so long that things have just been lost to time, even for us. We know they work, and we're going to use them to protect people. That's the point of them - we have a directive to keep the worlds safe, and all the people on them. We're not perfect at it, but we do the best we can, and we're going to keep doing everything possible until we find a way to get all of you home. We know what it's like to miss a place that's important to you.

[He looks around as he says that; they were without their home for too long. He absolutely can't blame others for wanting an easy solution, even if they have none to give.]

If anyone's got questions, I can try to answer them, but I can't guarantee I know the answers. I won't lie to you and tell you something false, though. And, uhh, Pluto? Can I talk to you?

[He doesn't know his not-mom had vanished since he was possessed when she did.]

I have a question! Why are they called Keyblades? Is there a reason?

Because they... look and sometimes act like a key, and they're also weapons. See? [He summons his own with a flash of light, turning it around out of his normal grip so it's easier to see it.] See, you've got the teeth up here, but they're really sharp.

[Okay, that does kind of make sense to the name of the weapon. They are pretty much killer keys.]

So they act like key's in what way?

Will you tell us what you do know about the Keyblade?

[He's just curious to know more about then and to understand the worlds in general.]

[Ven shrugs a little, a bit helplessly, but he doesn't not answer.] I don't know that much - they've been around for so long that we really don't know where they came from or anything like that. But Keyblades come from the Light. I think that's why they're so effective against the Heartless. To get one, a Master has to give you the ability to use it, and the Light has to agree with him and want to give you one. Then you have to wait for it to manifest because it doesn't happen right away. And they can't be taken from you.

[Fai sits there and listens quietly, this information was rather interesting. It was always something he would do when arriving in a new world, finding more about the place and now he just gotten a little bit more, even after being here a year.]

So it's a weapon that chooses the user, more so than the person being able to choose what weapon they can use, correct?

What exactly is a keyblade?

Light and Darkness, and the balance between them to keep the worlds safe.

[Ven takes a moment to think about that one, because... compressing an entire idea down into a few sentences. Tough assignment.]

A Keyblade is a weapon that some of us from these worlds can use to protect them. That's what we're supposed to do with them, anyway - we're supposed to be the worlds' guardians and maintain order around the universe, letting the worlds develop on their own in the direction they want to without interference from the Darkness. Keyblades are what we're given to do that.

[And here comes Aqua, having taken care of at least the most important spells that keep the world as safe as it is.]

I suppose there might be something in the library here? I'd have to check, though.

[He gives her a grin over his shoulder.] I'm not surprised that's one of the first things you say after getting back here.

Why? It's not like we could hide forever... Everything's gone so crazy since Sora's first time out, there's no keeping it quiet anymore.

[Having to rely on someone else goes against everything Haruka stands for. Having someone else be the only one who can save the day... sucks, quite frankly, especially when it's a stranger. So she's glaring at the transmission, and keeps to audio so her sour expression can't been seen.

Well, not like she doesn't keep to audio, anyhow, but still. Her voice is equal parts bored and annoyed as she speaks.]

So these are the only thing that do any good against the enemies here? How does one get one, or be "special" enough to weild one?

[Surely if anyone needs to be "special", Usagi would be it, even if Haruka herself or Michiru weren't. Which would also be pretty annoying, but she could at least live with that.]

[She can't see it, but Ven shakes his head.] It's not like that - Keyblades are the only weapons that can kill a Heartless permanently, yeah, but anything can send it back to the Darkness. Then it has to stay there for awhile before it can reform and come after people again, so it can't just stay in our worlds and keep attacking people over and over. I know it's... kind of frustrating to hear about something like this, but it's not like everyone else is helpless. I've fought with people from other worlds since this whole thing started and they've saved my life more than once.

And getting one, a Master has to perform a ceremony to pass on their ability to hold one, and then the Light has to give it to you. You can't just take it - they're tied to our hearts.

[And another one of these keyblade users. It's Sailor Neptune who appears on the screen this time. Ever since the announcement by the king, her suspicion has been rising steadily, to know that information had been held back.]

You've been entrusted with the weapons but not told anything about them? How did you come to wield one?

[A frown.]

Some people here are likely not used too having battles fought for them. [And she's one of them.]

[Another girl from Pluto and Mercury's group. Ven vaguely remembers that when he woke up, there were a lot of them around, then they seemed to disappear one by one - looks like they're coming back, now.]

It's not that we're not told about them - it's that we're told as much as is possible about them. We know they come from the Light, but we don't know when they first appeared on the worlds, or who had the first ones, or anything like that. We know we're supposed to use them to protect the worlds. And... I'm sorry, but I don't remember how I got mine. I can't remember anything from before I was eleven.

[Yes, he had his even that young. But Ven sees her expression, and he can understand her frustration completely.]

I know - we're not asking you to sit around doing nothing, I promise. We don't even know how this started ourselves or how we're going to fix it. And it won't be just us fixing it, it'll be everyone who wants to help and can help. Just because we were given a different kind of tool to do our jobs with doesn't mean that other tools aren't just as good.

I don't know - I've had mine for as long as I can remember, but I can't remember anything from before I was about eleven.
