◎ 004 ◎ Qui-Gon Jinn : Video / Jedi Temple

[It seemed that people still remembered him inside the Jedi temple and as he walked in with his very trusty furret, he seemed to be at ease. His furret, on the other hand, was very excited to be out and about. It was catching a lot of attention.]

Now, now, little friend. You promised to behave. I will remind you that the Jedi temple is a place of peace. Any disturbances from you and I will be forced to take you back home.

[The furret circled his feet a few times before returning to his side. Qui-Gon found this amusing and he continued to walk.]

To anyone brewing curiosity to explore this Jedi Temple, I only ask that you respect these grounds. We will not push anyone away, however, if we ask you to respect any restrictions, I advise that you heed their warnings. They are only for your protection.

Everyone is entitled to the pursuit of knowledge. From a fellow Jedi Master, I welcome you to our temple.

[And his furret seems to have found some younglings interesting. He stops to watch it chase after a group.]

Obi-Wan, when you have time, I wish to speak with you.

While I do have a curiosity about that place, I'm wondering of what people there would think of vampires? Or creatures like that? I'm just curious, that's all.

The Jedi order is comprised of personnel from all parts of the galaxy. We do not judge by what they are, I assure you.

[Well, that was a good thing and something he knew he had to check either way. Not that him being a vampire was obvious to people. For once he's hidden it well.]

If you do come to visit, tell them Qui-Gon Jinn invited you. You won't have any troubles then.

I've been there already when I went to visit Obi-Wan, and I must admit that place is huge. Don't people get lost there?

I suppose after living there for so long you simply become accustomed to it. You eventually learn your way around.

So, what would I need to do until then. Would I need to stick to someone?

Not entirely. There are many Jedi here in this temple and odds are, wherever you manage to lose yourself, there will be someone for you to ask for directions.

If you wish for an escort, I don't mind offering a tour.

[Because he is sure as hell knows he's going to get lost.]

Our temple is big but it has a lot of security measures. If someone were to lose their way there are many Jedi here who will be more than glad to lead you in the right direction.

[He sighs with relief. That was a load off his mind.]

Pretty much and pretty often.

[He laughs, lightly.]

We all have our talents.

I wouldn't call it a talent, more of a curse.

Correct. All Jedi live here at one point of their life if not a good long portion of it.

All, hmm? [A long thoughtful hum before he clucks his tongue lightly.] Pursuit of knowledge. Place of peace. All of you live there.

The Jedi Order does have some similarities with some cultures like those, yes.

I see. [He taps a finger against his chin slowly.]

What sort of restrictions and warnings are likely to be given at your... temple?

We prefer the peace to be kept and therefore any loud or obscene episodes are not tolerated. Several portions of the academy or off-limits to visitors but only for their protection. Other than that, we hope everyone enjoys their stay. It's a rare opportunity to have outsiders in our home.

[For their protection. Oh now that is fascinating, but he nods.] Well, it's very hospitable of you. I'm sure your guests will respect your rules, if they have manners.

Will you stop by? You had once asked about my world, I wouldn't mind giving you a tour myself. You'll find the archives hall fascinating.

I believe I will, yes.

[A grin here.] And I'd be quite happy to take you up on that offer, deary. A tour would be grand.

Then we shall make arrangements when you see fit! I would very much enjoy your company, friend.

Wonderful. Soon then. I am quite curious after all. [Enjoy his company, huh? This Qui-Gon is an odd duck. Rumpelstiltskin can't help but be intrigued.]

It's good that your world was restored, if even partially. A reminder of home can lend you strength.

Does your Jedi Temple have extensive history records?

It does, of many galaxy's and their history.

[There's a bit of a delay in his response, but once he answers, it's obvious why; he's been swimming in the Lake Level again. At least the ~~pest~~ furret isn't running amok-- and surely others would leap at the opportunity to ask about the Temple from one of the greatest masters around.]

Yes, Master. What about?

I wanted to know your opinion on our living arrangements. Now that our temple has returned, would you want to return or stay as we were?

[He pauses to consider that for a moment; he'd been thinking about it, too.]

It's nice to be able to come back here. But... we've already been in this kingdom for so long and we have the most experience and knowledge with how things function. Many of the Jedi are still missing, like the Council. Most who are still within the Temple have duties to attend to there... We can't currently continue the mission we were originally assigned to. I think it should be our responsibility to remain where we are and keep the Temple informed of the things going on outside, Master.

[But, of course, in the end it's Qui-Gon's decision.]

Well said. I too would prefer to stay in the realms of the kingdom.

[He flashes a smile.] I thought you might. Even if we did return to living in the Temple, I can't imagine you'd be content to stay indoors much, what with all the other worlds out there for you to get to know. ...And all the other worlds to befriend more creatures in.

I will do as I must. Funny you should bring that up. I found a very curious creature on my way here today .... [Totally teasing, just to make Obi-Wan mad.]

[Well, it works; an undisguised look of dread and exasperation crosses Obi-Wan's face. He can never tell when Qui-Gon is joking about that.] We may have a house of our own, but I don't approve of turning it into a habitat for the pathetic lifeforms you keep collecting.

[Not that he ever has any say in the matter. Which is why he's making another face that would almost look like pouting if Jedi pouted.]

[He laughs heartily for a moment.]

Rest assured, you're the only one capturing my attention for now. I was teasing.

[It's an uncommon thing to hear Qui-Gon laugh like that and it immediately sabotages the look of annoyance Obi-Wan is wearing. The statement that follows is an added relief; he's never outgrown wanting to monopolize on his Master's attention.]

Well, good. It was a mean joke. [A grin creeps back through while he says it, though.] While I have your attention then, I have something I'd like to talk to you about as well. It would be better to talk in person. Where can we meet?

If you do not wish to meet at the temple, I will meet somewhere else.
