[For the past few weeks, Obi-Wan has hardly come out of the Temple except to work for Fai. What has he been doing, you may ask? 30% meditation, 70% project. As a matter of fact, he's parked near that project right now. If the grease smudges all over his face and hands and the wide, pleased grin on his face are any indication, it's obvious he's been working with machines. He's nowhere near the genius Anakin is with them, but he knows his way around them well enough-- and he's had plenty of help.]
Hello there. It's been a while, hasn't it?
As you can see, I've been working on a bit of a project with some of the mechanics here in the Jedi Temple. [He turns the feed around, showing various scraps of metal on the ground, then a gummi ship that has obviously had some work done to it. Jedi work. It looks significantly buffed up and streamlined. Some fellow Jedi can still be seen, making minor adjustments and adding some finishing touches.] We have a great deal of technology available to us and with the problems we've been facing recently, it may become necessary to pilot these ships during a heartless attack. We have starfighters here, certainly, but gummi ships are better equipped to travel between worlds. We thought it would be in our best interest if we could learn how to modify your gummi ships with our technology.
It took quite a bit of elbow grease, but we managed to integrate a force field generator and more potent weapons systems into the ship. It has also been modified to fly faster for aerial combat. We've just taken it for a test drive and it works fantastically! There are still some things we need to perfect, but I wanted to gauge the interest of anyone who might want one of their own.
[Private to Qui-Gon]
Before you wonder what in the stars I did to our gummi ship, it works the same as it did before, I promise! There are just a few extra buttons, really. I'm headed home soon-- we can take it for a spin if you like.
[After a moment, Obi-Wan's expression simmers to one more serious and earnest.]
And Master-- I've... had time to reflect on some things. I would like to speak to you. It seems as if we haven't had much time to discuss things what with everything going on and now that I've had time to meditate... [He trails off, then adds:] I think it would be good to get it out of the way.
[Private to Tidus]
Tidus, how are you doing? Have things gotten any better?
[He's worried about you, bro.]

[Eagle is thrilled a world with advanced technology finally appeared. ^^ ]
I would love to see that modified ship of yours.
Would you rather come here or I visit you? [He would be more than happy to talk shop with you, Eagle!]
I have wanted to see that world of yours anyway. Is there a certain dock I should be looking for when I arrive?
Not particularly, but I'll wait outside and wave you down. There are several, so it'll save us the time of trying to find one another.
[Video --> Action]
[Travel time - Eventually a gummi ship pulls into one of the docks on the Jedi Temple world and Eagle steps out. He does look for Obi-wan but is quickly fascinated by the technology here so he doesn't spot him right away.]
[Action]
Already well on your way to getting lost, are we?
[Action]
It is difficult not to become fascinated when visiting a world you have never been too.
[It makes him want to scan all the things for data and find out how things work here. But, he came to visit Obi-wan and his modified gummi ship so exploring could wait for a while. ]
I want to hear all about the improvements you made to your gummi ship. What kind of more powerful weapons were you able to incorporate?
[Action]
[It's not as if he poked his nose into everything and asked a million questions when he visited other worlds or anything... Nope. Not Obi-Wan.]
Don't worry, I'll let you look around plenty.
[He shows him over to the modified gummi ship and gestures to the weaponry on the chin of the ship.]
These are point-defense laser cannons. In my world, they're used to fight off starfighters-- agile combat ships. However, they're also strong enough to fight back other starships. We don't know what we'll be up against if it comes to aerial combat, so we wanted to balance the speed and strength of the weaponry. An unprepared offense is a bad defense.
[Action]
Fascinating. I believe your world is the one closet in technological achievements to my world.
[Eagle's NSX, a massive space warship, was also equipped with laser cannons similar to these. ]
Are they capable of rapid fire? What is the recharge time? What kind of fuel do they run on?
[Peppering you with tech questions Obi-wan. :P]
[Action]
[He pivots to half-face the cannons so he can gesture and speak to Eagle at the same time.]
These ones are capable of rapid fire, yes. We have generators built into the ship, which I can show you if you like, that take stored energy and distributes it to the cannons and the deflector shield. We didn't want to risk sending too much power through this ship and the cannons before we knew what they was capable of handling, so the cannons alternate firing shots to keep it from overheating. [He gestures to the individual barrels as he explains this.] Energy is able to get through the ship, into the cannons, and condense into lasers in approximately... one-third of a second.
[Bring it on, Eagle! ;D]
[Action]
[His world eventually being freed from the darkness was something Eagle had no doubts about. It was his main goal.
Learning more about the different worlds in order to take that knowledge back to Autozam was also something on his mind. Which is why Eagle paid especially close attention to the talk about power systems. Autozam's unique way of powering technology with mental energy had been a stable reliable source of power for many years but that system had recently begun to break down. ]
I would love to see the generators.
[The laser canons had been so well put together Eagle expected to be equally impressed with the generators that powered the craft.]
Did you end up integrating the gummi ship's systems with your own technology or does the gummi ship and these weapons run on two different power sources?
[Action]
[Obi-Wan motions for Eagle to follow once he opens up the gummi ship. Stored in the back and out of the way is the energy generator. It's made out of a lightweight metal, forming a half-circle shape and built into the ship. One can hear the quiet hum of power when he turns on the ship.]
Well, unfortunately, I was not able to make the ship run on our power source without completely taking away everything that makes a gummi ship what it is. So yes: it runs on two different power sources.
Would you like to test drive it? [He's offering the pilot's seat, after all.]
[Action]
[Oh Obi-wan. You can not ask a pilot a question like that and expect any other answer than...]
Absolutely! I would love to see how this modified craft of yours handles. It would really be alright with you?
[Action]
[He grins wide. As long as you don't drive like Anakin, he'll be just fine, Eagle.]
Of course! I wouldn't offer otherwise. [This is kind of his baby, after all. He takes a seat in the co-pilot spot.] You are the only other person here besides my Master that's familiar with this sort of technology. If there's anyone I can trust with my ship, it's you.
[Action]
[Afraid I don't remember how Anakin drives.
Eagle likes to fly fast and push his machines to the limit of their abilities and he can at times be reckless about it. But, since this machine doesn't belong to him and is basically a prototype of hybrid gummi ships he will try to take it a bit easier. Besides he does have a passenger to watch out for.
Even then the initial acceleration might push Obi-wan back into his seat as Eagle takes over the pilot's chair and directs the craft out into space. ]
How many test flights has this ship been on? I wouldn't want to push it too far.
[He tries a few very simple maneuvers, dodging to the left and then back to the right. ]
It does handle very well. You must have done something to the gummi ship controls to make it respond faster?
[Action]
About three. The mechanics were with me the first two times, but this last was by myself. We worked out the kinks in the system within the first couple of runs, but I'd still advise you to be cautious if you intend to test its limits.
[Mainly, Obi-Wan doesn't want you to hurt his baby.]
Ah-- that was my toying with it prior to any of this modification business. I was experimenting with different gummi blocks and I found some that allowed for better handling, actually.
[Action]
Eagle spares a glance over at his co-pilot with a wry smile.]
You read my mind. Testing the limits of your machine was just what I was wondering about.
[Pilots. They probably had both had the same thought while trying this modified gummi ship out for the first time. ]
I'll be gentle with it.
[As... gentles as a few barrel rolls and loops with ever increasing speed are. Eagle decides against pushing the machine into the red 'danger zone' however. There was no reason to burn the craft out on only it's 4th time out.
Instead with his curiosity now satisfied he turns the gummi ship to head back to the dock. ]
You and your engineers have done a really fine job with this. Now did you say something about 'gauging the interest'? I think many people would be very highly interested in this.
[And Eagle would be one of the first in line for one. ^^]
