1st Wrench Thrown | Video
[The view of the moogle can be seen holding the device in it's little paws, before him at the Gummi station stood a young blond girl who appeared to be taking a closer look at the ships.]
Such engineering~ I wonder who could create such a thing or even more so, what exactly is it they have built here. It's nothing like I'm use to back at home.
[She paused, placing a finger upon her chin, tilting her head and focusing on it some more. The moogling holding the device, her munny and key just stood there trying to get her attetion.]
I wonder what it could be made from, maybe some kind of hard steel, or maybe something stronger.
E-Excuse me, kupo.
[This caused Winry to finally turn her head around and look down towards the little creature, her eyes unsure of what exactly you were seeing.]
What are you?
[She went and knelt down slightly, taking a closer look at the creature.]
I'm a moogle, kupo. I came to give you a few things since you arrived here not long ago.
[She turned her head. She remembers being on the train after seeing Edward and Al, and wound up here with so far no explanation, so the only thing she had to wonder...]
Hey, have you seen a guy with blond hair, wears a red coat and is pretty short? He's usually hanging around with his brother who wears a giant piece of amour and makes the other guy look shorter.
[The moogle just shook his head before finally getting it's change to explain what was going on and all Winry could do was sit there and listen, her eyes looking quietly towards the floor.]

I think he's no longer here.

[She pauses when he mentions he might not be around. She looks down quietly, mixture of worry and sadness.]
Oh, I see.
Video
There is always hope that he might return.
Video
I hope he does.

I'm not sure what to classify it as. It seems pretty tough, though.

Automail is a prosthetic limb, usually made out of metal which can be used for people who have lost limbs due to circumstances, like war. Though unlike other prosthetics, automail can be customised to suit you, rather than just giving you one and you eventually learning to deal with it.
The downside though is it is attached to your nerves and it takes some time to recover, usually more than a year at most, but it's more worth it in the end, especially when you can have variations of the same one. You can even get speciality made ones with weapons attached.

Something stranger than that. They're actually composed of a substance called gummi-blocks.

If he's not here now, maybe they'll turn up later.
