( Belle looks tired as she comes into view on the camera, despite the fatigue, she’s smiling rather proudly and proceeds to explain her elated feeling, fingertips pressing against one another in her giddy state. )

I’m finished!

( just two words, but that’s her proud announcement. finished what, you ask? )

I’m all finished! The whole place is completely dust free, pollen free, scum free, scuzz free, dirt free, web free, bug free — free, free free! It’s all gone! Rumpelstiltskin’s is immaculate!

Now that that’s finished and there’s no mess, I can finally take that trip I had been wanting to!
Oh, well, that is to say if I still have a charming guide who’ll assist me with the travelling?

Tidus, once you’re finished with that Cup, if you’re still up to it, that is.

she smiles at his giggling but finds herself frowning at his much softer words. she should be touched; and she is, but she can't help feeling something more. )

You know, Rumpelstiltskin, there are times you act as though I died in leaving your castle. I barely got away from it before I was brought here.

[BEING A SILLY GIRL. BREAKING SOMEONE'S CHINA. NOSE IN A BOOK.]

Yes well, it seems this world was kind enough to draw me from some time much later than you.

( she falls silent. he has that seriousness about him that he gets when he's talking about things he would otherwise prefer not to. it doesn't take a genius to know that he's hinting at something rather unpleasant and Belle being a bright girl can figure it out. it takes her some time, but she gathers some courage to speak again to ask: ) How far into my future are you from, exactly?

[A quiet little hum, a shade of his usual antics.] Not nearly far enough.

But being in this place, perhaps it's a chance to change that. You're alive here, Belle.

[Bit of a frown, though it twitches across his face, as though anything outside his usual mirth or outright anger is foreign enough that his muscles have nearly forgotten how to make them.] I don't plan to let you slip through my fingers again.

( she frowns at him. not nearly far enough? she gathers that to mean something grim awaits her somewhat shortly upon her return. pushing those thoughts aside now.

Belle watches as his frown tugs his features, she lifts a hand to touch; but realizes he's not there with her. curling her fingers into a fist, she clutches it instead to her chest just above her heart and gently; quietly, speaks to attempt coaxing him from the sorrow )

Rumpelstiltskin, I will never truly leave you, in death or any other manner because you and I have something special together. ( an unspoken love; because after the ordeal it brought on before, she dares not say the words to him outright ) I can never die, because I will always live on in your memories. Just like you will never die to me for the same reasons.

[He looks at her for a moment before he shakes his head.] Always such a foolish girl.

[But his smile is back now. He's not so good at speaking of serious things when they involve him, after all. So instead he waves a hand.] I'd much rather you live on in the world as well.

But that's a selfish thing. And I am a selfish man, after all. Surely you know that by now.

I do.

( she gives a soft nod to him ) And that is why I know it can't be true. ( she gives a shrug of her shoulders ) You would never let me die; within your castle or otherwise.

You are far too selfish to let me.

( and back to smiling now )

[And also a coward. At the very least, Rumpelstiltskin is very well acquainted with his worst qualities, in no denial of them.] So do keep that in mind here as well, Belle.

In fact, I won't put up with your dying at all. It will make me very unhappy, and you're well aware how unpleasant I am when that happens.

Oh dear. ( she gives a chuckle to him. ) I suppose then it is up to me to keep myself alive so that I can make sure that troublesome behavior of yours does not come about to take its toll on the town.
