...it seems that Michiru-san has gone to join Haruka-san. [Whatever that means. She can't be sure of it, herself.

She sighs softly. She was going to have to look outside her usual circle of friends to find someone to swim with, wasn't she?]

[Ami looks back out to the ocean, and sighs.] I don't have the power to do that. [There's a tinge to her voice that sounded foreign to her--but maybe you'd recognize it, Kanda. It's a tinge of bitterness.]

[Yes he does. You're so young and you have all those teenage problems Kanda doesn't know about.]

What do want. Why do you say you can't get it.

[Ami looks back to the feed, her soft blue eyes hard as she steels herself for the sake of her admittance.] I want to remember.

[Her voice catches in her throat as she strains to continue. Her voice maintains its usual politeness, but her words are barbed.] You think I frustrate you? Think of how I frustrate myself, Kanda-san. Someone whose entire self-worth is invested in her mind's capability--how do you think it must feel to have the one thing worth anything to you failing you just utterly?

And what the hell are you talking about, 'self worth invested in her mind'? What's that supposed to mean.

Without my mind, I am nothing. [Ami states it like it's as plain as day.] My friends rely on me for my ability to retain information. If I can't even remember things that happened to me, what does that mean for the friends who count on me?

If that's what your friends see you as, a brain on legs, they don't sound like they're very good friends.

[There's a sharp edge to her voice.] That is not what I said.

It's not very helpful if it's sprinkled with insults and used against you in the long run.

I'm sorry. [She looks back to the water and sighs.] I am inclined to agree with you.
