[Kanda hadn't gotten out of bed, at least not since he had found his way on it. The feed was on, more than likely an accidental touch as Kanda went to slam whatever was making noise on his dresser. There wasn't much on the feed, Kanda's bedroom was dark and empty. The only actual furniture was the bed and the nightstand. The sheets were pulled over Kanda up to his waist, his back was exposed. It looked terrible. Bruises, scars, and a lot of raw flesh. He didn't enjoy laying on his side so he turned slowly onto his back. He grunted.]

I guess I'm not going to work.

[From somewhere out of the feed, Allen's golden gollum Timcampy came flying over the dozing exorcist. It had grown in size, probably ate another cat again, and flopped on Kanda's stomach. It didn't give the poor guy a warning, it just landed square on his stomach. Kanda winced and gasped for air before lifting himself up on his elbows and giving the thing a stern look.]

What the hell do you think you're doing! You don't just do things like that without a warning, idiot! Who told you to come in here in the first place! You're just as annoying as that stupid- [And Kanda froze. The poor Gollem was crying. That was a lot of tears for such a little guy. He hesitated. He made it cry. Again.]

H-Hey, knock it off. Why are you crying. You need to stop doing this, Tim.

[Oh, crap. Hotoaru had said she was coming and here he was unshowered and bed ridden. He groaned, pulling the sheets over him as he moved to sit up at the edge of the bed.]

I'm fine. It's not as bad as it looks. Where are you?

Just down the street.

[One could hear the bustling sounds of the market in the background. She did want to bring him something when she came so a tiny shopping trip was in order.]

I wanted to see how you were doing after all of that...

[It looks like it is a good thing she is coming over Kanda! ]

[Yep! But he's not presentable. He grunted and stood up, dragging the sheets. He disappears from the feed. Have Tim floating around about the device.]

I'll get dressed. Don't expect anything fancy. We've been busy.

You aren't feeling well, I wouldn't expect anything fancy.

[Purchase made! Hotaru then made her way down the winding road to Kanda's front door and polity knocked on the front door. ]

[He had gotten some pants on with some difficulty and hadn't bothered to put on a shirt. He couldn't really move his arms but he had wanted to see the brat. He wouldn't be limping towards the door if he didn't want to. He opened the door and instantly was attacked by Tori. The pokemon missed her master. He just stepped aside.]

Come in. Good to see you're in one peace.

Careful, Tori-chan. You wouldn't want to knock Onii-chan down.

[The pokemon was very gently reprimanded with a smile before Hotaru turned that smile toward Kanda and stepped into the house. Kanda might protest but he did look a bit fragile right now.]

Um, yes, I must have been lucky.

[Which was better than admitting to be a senshi. Hotaru slipped the basket she was carrying further up her arm used her now free hands to try and guide Kanda back to some place where he could at least sit down and rest. ]

I brought you a few things Onii-chan. You friend told me how much you liked soba so I bought some for you. I could cook them too if you would like.

[Once again she gave Kanda an appraising look. Yeah, he really shouldn't be up and moving around. Once she had him settled then she could reach into her basket and pull out his second gift, a 'Get Well' card. ]

And I brought you this.

[Kanda let himself be led by the kid dragging his pokemon along as it still clung to his leg. He managed to take a seat and he was grateful she wouldn't demand a tour of the house. Maybe in an hour or so. He rubbed at he temple before Hotaru said the magic word.]

Soba? Great, another person that's going to try to cook in this house. You're just a brat, you can't cook Soba.

[Sadly. He could so use a plate of Soba. Or two. Or three. He reached an arm out to take the get well card and he just sighed. Oh Hotaru.]

I can too. Since Michiru left I have been learning to cook for myself more. Soba was one of the first things I had to learn since it's my favorite.

[Once Kanda takes the card she began searching around for that kitchen... Ah! There it was!]

It shouldn't take too long, since I was only going to make a simple soba dish, a light broth with some chicken and scallion. Does that sound ok?

[The sound of doors opening and closing could be heard from the kitchen as Hotaru searched for a large enough pan to boil the noodles in and a second pan to pre-cook the chicken. ]

Your favorite, hu?

[Well, now. Something to bond with. He was a little curious now. Hopeful. He slipped into a chair in the kitchen, a sign he was going to give her a chance.]

How exactly did you get out of the Underworld in one piece?

[The pot she was filling with water nearly slipped and clattered down into the sink at the question but she was able to recover and catch the pot before that could happen.
He was still asking about that?! It wasn't like she could tell him the truth... at least not the whole truth. Her being a senshi was supposed to be a secret.]

I... found a few other people who were leaving and made my way out with them.

[Or rather she found Kanda and left when he did, but close enough. ]

Would you like to cut the scallion?

[She asked while holding up the bundle of scallions so he could see them. Maybe helping her get the soba ready would distract him from asking more questions. ]

I don't cook.

[And he most certainly doesn't help in the kitchen... only unless Lenalee kicks him to do so or he gets ordered to it. Such a boy.]

Not even just to cut things?

[Silly boy. :P That's not very involved cooking right there! ]

You can't do it yourself?

It's ok, you don't have to.

[She can take care of that too and at least it did get him off that other subject. After a while the smell and freshly cooked chicken and warm soba fills the room. Once combined and simmered together Hotaru proclaims. ]

All done! Um... where you you keep your bowls at?

Second drawer to your left. [Victory! Kanda feels like he won. But damn, this is actually smelling. Really good. It's good enough to make him stand up. He's been fooled before, Lenalee can make good-smelling soba but it tastes like crap. He moved over to the stove. TIME FOR A TASTE TEST.] Spoons are in the drawer. There.

[Hotaru moves where directed to collect the spoons and bowls. Then she is back to the pot to fill them with the warm noodles and set the bowls out on the table.

She kind of nervously watches to see if Kanda will like it... She does hope he will!]
