07 ♚ Duex of Wands ♚ [Action/TLDR STUFF] White Rose Florist Shop

[With all the recent excitement.. Ciel hadn't had time to reflect on everything that had been happening. Well, today seemed as good a day as any. For once the shop was fairly quiet, and he didn't mind coming out from behind the counter to admire the white roses. As the stores namesake, it also happened to be one of Ciel's favorites. He walked over to the display and lightly cupped one of the blooms with one hand. The soft delicate petals were the epitome of floral perfection.

Closing his eyes briefly, he tried to pick a starting point. So far.. he'd managed to keep his contract with Sebastian a secret... for the most part. Dante was aware of it, possibly Billy Jukes also was.. depending on how closely he eavesdropped on that conversation or the impression he'd taken from it. Chloe- knew something was different about Sebastian.. that he wasn't human and that Ciel had a deal with him but..

He drew his hand away from the rose and pressed it to his eyepatch instead. No one had actually seen the contract inscribed on his eye. Still, he didn't enjoy the fact that three additional people might know his secret.

There seemed to be a sort of animosity growing between Chloe and Sebastian. Tch- Chloe had gone so far as to tell Ciel to rely on him instead of his butler. At least when part of the secret was revealed it hadn't completely shattered their partnership. Chloe was still of use to him.

Elizabeth on the other hand... he dropped his hand to his side. She'd seemed so disappointed in him after that whole aftermath no matter what the results had been or the intent. Beforehand.. he thought they'd been closer than they actually were, apparently. Her trust in him could be shaken so easily.. even though he'd also been trying to protect her.. she couldn't see that.

Thanks to Hades, he now held the knowledge of who burned down Phantomhive Manor and murdered his parents and he would stop at nothing to crush and humiliate them.

Now that he had the information he wanted... he needed to find his own world to finish the job. In the meantime.. it might be prudent to mend fences with the people here... as taxing as that could be. Ciel hadn't been the most diplomatic person.. at least.. not since Padme left.

As much as he did not want to participate in this "auction date" ... it would be an opportunity to possibly appease Elizabeth. With a sigh, he turned from the display. ]

... Best behavior..

[He spoke softly as if to keep the idea at the forefront of his mind.]

[After that he actually took the time to water some of the flowers.. which was a little odd since he usually left the menial tasks to Chloe]

Such a deep expression today... does the Earl have a lot on his mind~?

[The creepy face of Undertaker will just be appearing from the row of flowers beside you, right next to the roses. He giggles a bit when he too ends up being watered. What a pretty rose he is!]

[Consumed with his own thoughts, Ciel visibly jumped when one of the flowers turned out to be Undertaker]

!!!!!!

[He promptly dropped the watering can and exclaimed]

Must you sneak up like that?!

[With a sigh, he kneeled down to collect the watering can]

No more than usual.

[Undertaker laughed as he made his way through the roses to stand on the path between them with Ciel. Was there a better way to sneak up on some one? That had been a perfect reaction!]

The Earl always has so much to think about... even without a Queen around to give him orders~

[There was that sickening laugh of his again... Ciel wasn't here to amuse him.]

What would be the use in being completely idle or devoid of thought?

[Oh you sure told him! ]

I had thought you might branch out more... spend more time with other interests~?

What other interests could there be?

[Burying people alive, playing with heartless, chatting with demons over tea... ]

There are so many things~!

Maybe for you..

[It's as if he could read Undertaker's thoughts.. and he was not amused]

[Hello Ciel, guess whose actually paying you a visit this time.]

[There is nothing suspicious about this at all.]

[This is an unusual surprise. They usually kept their conversations to the communicators.. save for that one outing with Alice, Ritsuka, Yuiko, and Lizzie so long ago]

[The boy had unusual timing as well considering that Ciel just told himself to be on his best behavior with others for the time being. ~~It was as if he was being tested.~~]

Good morning, Oz. Was there something I could help you with? [Was he here to purchase flowers or a gift...? Or was this a social call]

[Oz walked around, looking at the various flowers.]

I've never actually been to your store, so I guess you can say curiosity is what brought me here.

[Ciel stayed in one position as Oz explored the shop]

[With a light nod] Feel free to peruse all you like.

[Oz soon turned around, his face giving off that serious look, his frown present before he moved in closer. The moment he took one step, he smiled.]

So what exactly do you do here?

I mostly handle the books, I work on inventory, order the necessary supplies, search for the highest quality for the lowest cost.. I'm also in part in charge of hiring new workers, training them [As he tried to train Terra] and advertising.

[He actually did quite a lot of work, but mostly more behind the scenes. Chloe was the flower expert]

[He nods slightly.]

That's quite a lot of work. I wonder if you have time to do anything else.

Rarely. [Save for when the shop is forcibly closed.... for unusual circumstances]

How do you manage to occupy your time?

I don't do a much and I read in what free time I have.

[He does have a lot of free time when not with friends or work.]

Reading is a worthwhile hobby, that can expand the vocabulary and the bound's of one's imagination.

[It was one of Ciel's hobbies as well]

Plus there are some good stories out there.

[One of Oz's favorite things about a book when he wasn't studying.]

[Lizzie had made her way to the store to do what she usually did and helped out if it was needed. So, with a picnic lunch in her basket, she hadn't been sure if one or both ere working today, so it was better to have too much than too little, she made her way to the store. A smile on her face as she entered.]

Good morning~

[the cheerful greeting pulled Ciel back to reality.]

Elizabeth? [He quietly spoke her name as he glanced toward the door. Considering that he'd just been thinking about her, it was astonishing that she chosen that time to enter the establishment.]

[Putting the watering can aside he moved towards her to greet her properly.] Morning, [A brief pause as he prompted himself to call her by the casual name she preferred] Lizzie. Please, let me carry that for you. [he held out his hand for the basket]

[Once thing Lizzie hadn't been expecting was Ciel to actually be working today... she was so use to seeing Chloe in the mornings happily trimming away at the flowers, making sure they were as beautiful as they could be. But today she figured he must be busy right now.]

Ciel...

[Unsure of what else to say she looked at the basket, soon holding it out, after all it was for the both of them.]

It's your lunch. I thought I would make more than usual for the both of you.

[She never knew if they ate or not, so started to get into the habit of making snacks for lunch.]

[Ahem? Actually working? You mean actually working in the front of the store I hope? XD! Some of her enthusiasm seemed to deflate upon noticing him.]

I'll just place it in the back for now, so it'll stay fresh.

[Even with her move to Traverse Town, she still visited the shop]

Thank you, that was very considerate.

[With that, he excused himself from the room briefly as he took the basket into the back. When he reemerged, he had the basket in tow only it was empty now]

[She's not use to seeing you in front of the store. That is all, she knows you work hard, just not in the front.]

You're welcome. [She smiled, chipper as usual as she looked around, checking to see if everything looked okay and it was, when Ciel was serious about a job he does it well enough to get it done right.]

Do you have any flowers that I might not know about. I'm thinking of brightening up my place. Isabelle might enjoy them as well.

[There.... were probably flowers here that Ciel wasn't all too familiar with but looking around he tried to lead her toward more of the exotic varieties.]

There might be something that's to your liking over here.

[He stopped in front of an assortment of potted orchids. Orchids... could be particular about their environment but they came in such a wide variety of shapes and sizes.. it was possible that Lizzie hadn't seen all of them before.]

You'll want to be sure that Isabelle doesn't try to eat certain varieties of plants they might not be good for her.

[She leans over slightly, taking a good good at the variety. She had never sen so many flowers in her life and they were all so very beautiful.]

If I put them on a high enough place, she won't be able to reach.

[She soon pointed out a rather beautiful one.]

This one looks rather cute, don't you think Ciel.

[Orchids are considered safe for pets, since they aren't poisonous too :3]

That might be for the best.

[He agreed with her then looked at the flower she indicated]

Mm, I think it might be just the variety for your shop. [He'd have them delivered and set up for her if she liked.. and it wouldn't cost her anything]

Yes, it is a bit quieter than usual.

[But he didn't seem concerned by it. Every business had a few slow days]

It will probably pick up later in the day. Is Isabelle doing well?

[She nodded slightly.]

She's doing as well as she can.

[Just as Dante had promised, guess who decided to walk in through the front door.]

Nice shop. Anyone in here?

[Trying to use his shorter stature to his advantage............................... Ciel positioned himself behind a display and kept quiet.]

[He could smell the kid but he kept walking in pretending he didn't know any better. He made his way over to the register.]

Nobody in here? I'm sure the brat won't mind me stealing some of his lunch money.

[Lunch money? That garnered Dante an eye roll. Dante was obviously aware that he was here and trying to push his buttons. So he pretended like he hadn't been hiding at all when he came out from behind the thing.]

Chloe is out for the day and he took his "lunch money" with him. [Cuz... clearly.. Ciel was not the brat]

Well look who caught me red handed. [Boo, he would have taken all your munny.]

[Seriously? He thought you were kidding about that]

I do have a name, idiot. [Addressing Dante by his own proper title]

I'm as well as can be expected. Yourself?

I'm pretty good. Told you I was going to pay you a visit.

[Guess who's come shopping! She's surprised to see Ciel.]

Evening, mister Phantomhive. [She got it right now!]

[The surprise was mutual, but at least this time he managed not to drop his watering can]

Good Evening, Ms. Granger. [He returned the pleasantries, and placed the watering can aside] Was there anything specific I could help you find?

My bedroom is very dull, I'd like a bit of color. Do you have an indoor plants?

Quite a few in fact.

[With that in mind he asked a couple of follow-up questions]

Were you looking for something with a variety of color or something like a fern or an ornamental grass?

I would prefer color to begin with.

[She intends on finding some herbs and planting those up so she'll definitely have enough greens.]

Then right this way.

[He led her over to the side of the store with the highest concentration of indoor plants]

Will they be able to receive much sunlight?

Partial. I'm not very keen to living my bedroom window accessible.
