002: ✩ Duel two [Video/Possible Action for Traverse Town]

Hrm. I can't really say it's particularly important but, in case you wished to know, I…am no longer staying in the hotel. I am, however, still residing in Traverse Town. It would seem I do know someone here, after all. I also wanted to thank those for their kindness, in receiving me here. I realize I am not the only person who has crossed such a difficult path but, nevertheless, I wish to thank you for helping me.

[A considerate pause, and Pegasus swirls a glass of wine in his hand. Clearly someone hasn't been sleeping at proper hours.]

How does one live in a place with eternal night? Well, I suppose it has its perks. I always did love starry nights. Constellations hold a special fascination for me, I guess you might say. They have so much meaning.

[He makes a gesture towards a particular portion of the sky out the window.]

If you look carefully you can see this square in the sky, in the north. It's my—er, well, the Constellation Pegasus. The Square of Pegasus…

[A small tic creases his mouth, as if he were amused by that idea.]

Legend holds that there was once a beautiful princess who was seduced by the God of the Sea, Poseidon. In turn, in her anger, because it was in the temple consecrated to her that this act happened, Athena turned her into a monster, who became known as Medusa. Pegasus sprang forth, supposedly, from her blood, when she was slain by the hero Perseus. How interesting isn't it, that a beautiful creature could be born of something that became ugly and evil?

[A wistful sigh as he settled his chin upon his hand and stared out the window, sitting on the sill beneath it. The stars cast a silvery sheen on his hair, making him look a bit inhuman.]

If you examine it closely, supposedly as it stretches across Pisces and Aquarius it feasibly represents the evolution between one mode of thinking to another. The meaning therein indicates a leap in consciousness or a shift in mindset. But to look at the individual stars that compose the constellation and its circumstances…The transition is uneasy. Misfortune seems evident. The constellation says, to me: "Ambition, vanity, intuition, enthusiasm, caprice, and bad judgment." In fact, it borrows a star in the head of Andromeda—the Chained Woman. A symbol of power…In a way. But also how many basic and fundamental forms are brought into the light of soul and mind, and how light can reach the very darkest of places and forms. Turning evil into good…In other words.

[His gaze drifts back to the screen.]

Perhaps there are poor choices to be made that are unforeseen, or are predestined. Who is to say? I can only move forward. If there is light at the end of this journey, I suppose we'll know by the end, won't we?

I suppose it makes sense, that I might see it now. I've heard it's growing to be autumn here, isn't it? Back home it was the high end of summer. I was an autumn child myself, so it's sort of nostalgic for me…

[A soft, lilting laugh permeates the air. It sounds kind of sorrowful and lonely, actually.]

Well, nevermind. I suppose that's enough rambling for one night.
