002: ✩ Duel two [Video/Possible Action for Traverse Town]
Hrm. I can't really say it's particularly important but, in case you wished to know, I…am no longer staying in the hotel. I am, however, still residing in Traverse Town. It would seem I do know someone here, after all. I also wanted to thank those for their kindness, in receiving me here. I realize I am not the only person who has crossed such a difficult path but, nevertheless, I wish to thank you for helping me.
[A considerate pause, and Pegasus swirls a glass of wine in his hand. Clearly someone hasn't been sleeping at proper hours.]
How does one live in a place with eternal night? Well, I suppose it has its perks. I always did love starry nights. Constellations hold a special fascination for me, I guess you might say. They have so much meaning.
[He makes a gesture towards a particular portion of the sky out the window.]
If you look carefully you can see this square in the sky, in the north. It's my—er, well, the Constellation Pegasus. The Square of Pegasus…
[A small tic creases his mouth, as if he were amused by that idea.]
Legend holds that there was once a beautiful princess who was seduced by the God of the Sea, Poseidon. In turn, in her anger, because it was in the temple consecrated to her that this act happened, Athena turned her into a monster, who became known as Medusa. Pegasus sprang forth, supposedly, from her blood, when she was slain by the hero Perseus. How interesting isn't it, that a beautiful creature could be born of something that became ugly and evil?
[A wistful sigh as he settled his chin upon his hand and stared out the window, sitting on the sill beneath it. The stars cast a silvery sheen on his hair, making him look a bit inhuman.]
If you examine it closely, supposedly as it stretches across Pisces and Aquarius it feasibly represents the evolution between one mode of thinking to another. The meaning therein indicates a leap in consciousness or a shift in mindset. But to look at the individual stars that compose the constellation and its circumstances…The transition is uneasy. Misfortune seems evident. The constellation says, to me: "Ambition, vanity, intuition, enthusiasm, caprice, and bad judgment." In fact, it borrows a star in the head of Andromeda—the Chained Woman. A symbol of power…In a way. But also how many basic and fundamental forms are brought into the light of soul and mind, and how light can reach the very darkest of places and forms. Turning evil into good…In other words.
[His gaze drifts back to the screen.]
Perhaps there are poor choices to be made that are unforeseen, or are predestined. Who is to say? I can only move forward. If there is light at the end of this journey, I suppose we'll know by the end, won't we?
I suppose it makes sense, that I might see it now. I've heard it's growing to be autumn here, isn't it? Back home it was the high end of summer. I was an autumn child myself, so it's sort of nostalgic for me…
[A soft, lilting laugh permeates the air. It sounds kind of sorrowful and lonely, actually.]
Well, nevermind. I suppose that's enough rambling for one night.

[Sometime during your explanation, Dante caught sight of you from the street. He slipped underneath the window and sat there watching the sky listening to the nerd-talk.]
You learn somethin' new everyday.

D-dante?…You startled me. [You're going to give me a heart attack. Don't do that again, please.] Whatever are you doing here at this hour?
【 ACTION 】
I don't sleep much. Live nearby. Heard you talking, got interested. What's that constellation over there?
【 ACTION 】
....You do?
[He really had no idea he lived so close.]
Ah, well. I suppose that's fair enough. Hmmm.
[He glances towards the sky in the direction Dante pointed, peering for a moment with intensity.]
The Constellation Scorpio. It clearly indicates potential for great power, but without integrity or wisdom in wielding it...It can carry the threat of ruination. Depending on the influences present...It can indicate a rash, head-strong person who is destructive to himself by his own obstinacy. Though capable of great honour and power he can easily succumb to danger and violence.
Ah, and...Within the constellation the direction of the moon from it seems to portend the death of a mother, or a wife, or great sickness.
[He glances back to stare at him, now serious.]
The passions are strong and there is a tendency for trouble associated with the opposite sex, but it does indicate a shrewd and cunning mind with organizational abilities.

Ye~es, Though depending on how you read into it the stars that govern the constellation can be seen to be filled with malefics, or misfortune rather than simply a positive interpretation. It makes sense, really. If you look for that sort of thing without balance...[Like Trelawney, maybe?]
"Disgrace, ruin and often a violent death", and so on, so I hear.
[Looking grim but amused, at that. Altogether that wasn't too far off from what had transpired back home.]
Not bad for someone who isn't a witch, eh? I guess you could say it was part of my studies, given the influences from different cultures it holds. [Particularly Egypt.]
【 VIDEO 】
What cultures do you like? Any favorites?
【 VIDEO 】
Egyptian..!
[He said aloud without thinking. It's simply been a point of fascination since Cyndia's death. A bit morbid perhaps. But it was the basis for everything that had transpired in his life up to this point.]
But I like all sorts of cultures. The Greeks are pretty interesting too. And feudal Japan...~ ♥

I think it's all very interesting, too. That's why I've spent a long time studying them.

And you might be quite gifted in storytelling, too! But it's good to see you're adjusting well to being here. It takes a while, for some.
Hmm. Perhaps. Not as well-versed in it as others, I imagine. Though it tied in nicely for the example I used.
I don't believe we've spoken before...
[He would have recognized her.]
Is it easy as all that from a simple post to say whether or not a person is adjusting "well"?

[She dips her head slightly in a rather informal bow.]
I suppose I could be generalizing, but I doubt you would much feel like speaking to everyone about the stars if you hadn't yet gotten settled.

[He'll return the motion, if only just.]
Pegasus. A pleasure to make your acquaintance.
[Peers pretty close to the screen, offering a knowing smile.]
My dear girl, to be entirely honest with you I am not at all settled in the way that is quite to my liking. But, well enough, I suppose. It is simply a little hobby of mine, that's all.

action!
I've heard some if those stories.
[Those were...very old. By her time most of that part of history was lost due to the war and exodus to the mountains.]
action!
Really? I wouldn't have guessed!
[Don't mind him. He's just curious. And why shouldn't he be, given he doesn't know you that well!
ooc: Is she home or just outside?]
action!
[Speaking with strangers really wasn't her forte. She wished Seto spoke of him before, then again he doesn't really talk about anything but duel monsters.]
Do you know all about this subject?
(ooc: outside! But she can move in.)
action!
Mmmm. I do. At least, enough that I could answer questions, if you wished.
[About the stories, that is. If she wanted a reading, well...He might be able to do it, but don't count on accuracy. He might make something up for fun!
ooc: :D Either/or]
But, you mortals do come up with some crazy stories to explain these things.

Ooooh~? Doesn't sound like you're particularly fond of him at all....
