[Ami woke up early on the morning of September 10th. The sun was creeping its way up into the Agrabah sky, keeping things cooler than the past few weeks. Ami wasn't one to complain. It was a good, refreshing start to one's birthday, even if she didn't have any particular plans, save one.

She makes her way to the school grounds. Luckily a good number of people she would recognize were still asleep, and she could make her way to the library with negligible interruption. She had it all planned out: she'd browse the bookshelves, see about locating the archives to this strange world, and start looking back.

Maybe she'd find something about herself. Even if she doesn't, she'd made a habit on her birthday to research what was happening on September 10th of every year preceding the one she was in today.

It was humbling, but at the same time, fascinating. It made for good conversation (should she ever be caught in one), it gave perspective.]

Let's see...[Flipping through the pages documenting various histories, she waited to spot something recognizable to her, in order to provide a perspective point.

She could probably spend her entire birthday in here and be none the happier.]

Ami-chan. Today is that special day in a girls life... and you choose to spend it with books?

[Ami looks up to Minako curiously.] Special day? [It's a birthday, not a wedding.] If I enjoy it, it's alright, isn't it?

[It's just as important as a wedding. You get presents and cake! Okay you get presents that aren't joint ones.]

Yes, but with books. Really?

[Ami giggles a bit. You should be used to this by now, Minako.] Yes. Really.

[She holds up the book to show her.] I think you'd find it interesting too. This is timeline. Don't you ever wonder what happened on the day of your birthday? Or what famous historical figures share the same birthday as you?

[She is, why do you think she still tries?]

I would be curious about pop idols with the same birth date. not sure about anything else.

[Winry was officially starting her first day of school. She had been to her classroom she'll be spending the next two years in and she had seen most of the school, but Winry knew that there were a few things she didn't have that and one of them were books for certain lessons. So with the library in mind she head on over, her mind focused on what titles she needed to find.]

I need to find at least two books, but I wonder if they have books that might be useful for me later.

[Going to the shelves she started to look, slowly walking as she did before she came across something reading themselves.]

[Ami looks up, her glasses balanced on the bridge of her nose. Slipping them off, she remembered this girl from when she was at the beach.]

Yes--[Ami blushes, bashfully smiling.] But I don't mind your interrupting.

[Winry made her way over, a couple of books needed for class in her arms.]

I'm guessing you're going to the school as well?

[Ami smiles and shakes her head.] Not yet, at least. Though thank you for reminding me. I do need to look into enrollment.

[She looks to the girl's books. What was she studying?] Would you know who I would need to speak to in order to do that?

[Oz had been quietly reading since early this morning. Not being able to sleep well due to the Eevee's pawing him awake at their missing sibling that Oz gave away only recently. Looking up he spots someone he recognizes at least.]

[Hotaru loved reading too but... if Ami wanted to read all day instead of going out she was going to get a rude surprise later. Hotaru was a little worried that surprise might not be welcome.]

Hotaru-chan! [Ami slipped her finger into the spine of the book and shut it momentarily so she could give the girl her attention.] Mmn. [She shook her head.] But I figured I would get up early to get some good time in the library down before the rest of you all woke up.

Oh good!

[Then she won't mind the surprise after all! Conspiratorial giggle...]

[As one of those few people who didn't mind getting up at the crack of dawn and did so quite often, Rei happened to see Ami pass by the shrine and watched her quietly. With a faint smile, she let her go for a moment -- long enough to change out of her robes and into civilian clothing -- and then headed out towards the library.

She didn't want to make a big deal out of it. After all, she could sympathize with birthdays not being too much of a big deal. But Rei got Ami a present nonetheless and wants to wish her well. With a present held carefully before her, she quietly makes her way into the library and to Ami when she spots her.]

Happy birthday, Ami-chan.

[Ami sees the stylish raven-tressed girl approach, and slips off her glasses.] Rei-chan? What are you doing here? [Weren't you tending to the shrine?

She quickly blushes, realizing that may have come off rude.] N-not that you're not welcome, I'm just surprised, being this early and--

[The girl was cut off when Rei presented her with a colorfully-decorated parcel.] ...for me?

[She hadn't--why did--] To be honest...[She chidingly smiles as she accepts the gift.] I had almost forgotten it, myself.

[Rei can follow her train of thought; normally she wouldn't disturbed Ami in the library.] The shrine can wait a little while. I wanted to come see you before the other girls started bombarding you. [This is said with a friendly, teasing tone.]

We're always busy. It's easy to forget. [She smiles quietly and takes a seat next to Ami.] It's not much, but I thought of you when I saw it.

[She gestures to the present once as she speaks. Inside there is a handmade charm specially made for Ami with her favorite colors-- but bhat's not the real gift, only part of it. Atlantica reminds Rei of Ami because of her affinity to water and her impeccable swimming abilities. It only seemed fitting to combine her love of water and books and get her a book full of Atlantica's history, wildlife, and culture.]

[Ami giggles slightly.] I cling to the hope that they've forgotten in the chaos of the date auction.

[She opens the gift, staring blankly at the book and the pendant, her breath stolen from her by the beautiful display of its cover.] This...[She touches the cover, tracing its edge before opening. It does so with a quiet lurching sound of a heavy, aged tome.] This is exquisite, Rei-chan...this is the Atlantica here, isn't it?
