Aha! And what is this!?
[The video pans upward to see an oddly renaissance clad man halfway up on of the light pole in Traverse town as the poor moogle down below looks up at him with a very tired looking expression on its face. ]
Please, sir, come down... kupo. I have a lot to tel--
[But the man investigating the pole isn't paying the little creature any attention.]
Can you imagine?! It's casting light but there is no fire! Fascinating!
[Just when it looks like he might come down from there and pay attention something else catches his eye. ]
Oh... and this...!
[He rushes over to the source of his new fascination leaving the moogle to chase along behind him. ]
Mr. Da Vinci, please, kupo!
[Again, sadly the calls of the creature go unanswered because something far more interesting has presented itself. A large sign looms ahead boldly proclaiming this to be an 'Item Shop'. ]
It glows but... how can it?
[Leonardo places a hand on the sign only to quickly remove it again.]
Hot like fire but, without fire. What could cause it to cast light like this...?
[One Leonardo Da Vinci has just discovered electricity and he is utterly amazed by it. ]

I dig where you're coming from, babe. We don't exactly have lights like this where I come from either.
Action
[(What a show!)
Leonardo took a step away before searching the flying blue man for some sign of... ]
An ingegno?
[(complex theatrical machine)]
I'm sorry, Messer. Whoever designed your ingegno must be very accomplished. I can't see any sign of the wires at all!
[You sir, are flying without wires. There had to be a machine behind it? ]

It took her a moment or two to be able to process everything in her mind and to keep as calm and collected as possible. Who would have thought that she would ever see someone from history. It was really an amazing thing to behold.]
I... [Too late he touched the sign.] wouldn't of touched that. Lights when left on for too long can grow very hot.
video;
Ahi!
[(Hot!)
He retreated, while trying to shake the heat from his hand... ]
So I noticed... Just like the sun must be. Remarkable!

There are so many wondrous things here. Like this machine!
[He indicated the device he was speaking to her through. ]
I have no idea what this could be and yet it has allowed me to speak to so many people.

I never really thought about why it does the things it does. But it is very useful, isn't it?
video;
Si, I can see how it would be. You would be able to have light inside at night without worrying about the fumes or the possibility of fire.
[He could be a quick study. ]

Hello, you must be new. [She guesses by the fact that you are amazed by the lights and that you are in Traverse Town.]

The painter stopped his investigations long enough to reach again for the small near magical device that allowed him to speak to others as if they were standing right there next to him.]
Ah! Quite new to this dream world.
[Though he is not sure the action would be properly seen by the young girl he bowed quite politely. ]
Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci, at your service my lady.

[S-Sorry. She can't leave a question unanswered.]
What did you say your name was, again?
【 VIDEO 】
[Unfortunately she explained it with things he didn't understand. Electricity? What? Still it did sound impressive!]
Ah, forgive me! Where are my manners? I am Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci.
[This is said with a polite nod of his head though again... would she see that through this strange machine? ]
And yourself signorina?

I'm sorry, sir, I am afraid I have no idea who this Christopher Columbus might be. I am Leonardo da Vinci, currently residing in Venezia...
[Looking around at his surroundings.]
Or at least I was until a little while ago.

[He actually rubs his head as if checking for a sore spot. All of this was a lot to take in. ]
No, I don't think so. I did just 'wake up' here, so perhaps... If this is a dream there would be no other explanation necessary for it.
[Clearly all of this is too wondrous to be real!]

But perhaps... if it would not be too much to ask, you could tell me the name of this fantastical city?
