[Ed would have been a fool if he hadn't been paying attention to what was going on around him. He'd seen the posts made to the network, and had observed the mist from inside the home he'd built for himself and for Winry. Unfortunately, despite knowing that it would be safest to stay inside, with any ways for the mist to get in sealed off, that's not what he was currently doing.

With a towel held against his mouth and nose, Edward is currently striding through the streets that make up the town on Destiny Islands, looking for victims of whatever this attack is. With his free hand he reaches into his pocket and pulls out his communicator, turning it on.

When he speaks his words are muffled.]

Who needs help? I'm on Destiny Islands but if anyone knows of someone in trouble, let me know. There's got to be something that we ca-- [Edwards eyes focus somewhere off screen, his golden eyes widening in shock.]

You've got to be kidding me. Al.. Is that really you? [The hand holding the communicator drops to his side, the camera swinging around in a loop as it catches glimpses of a shadowy, emaciated figure]

Why... Edward? Why would you abandon me in that place? It should have been you! WHY DID I HAVE TO LOSE EVERYTHING?!

A-alphonse... That's...

SHUT UP!

[A second figure steps out of the shadows, setting its hands on mist!Al's shoulders protectively.]

Mom... [Ed's voice cracks as he sinks to the ground, the figure of his deceased mother not even uttering a sound to cause the reaction. Cruel smiles flash over both of their faces as they begin to loom in closer to Edward.]

We can be together forever now, Edward...

[The feed cuts off, video lost in mist. Anyone to happen across Edward after this will only find his crumpled form prone on the street.]

[Had been out and about a few times previously in order to try and help. But even she herself had seen something she didn't want to and caused a bit of damage in the process. But for now she had another reason for being out. She had noticed the network and knew Edward was as usual in some kind of situation and she was going to help.]

Ed! Where are you!?

[There's no answer from Edward, but in the distance Winry might see two forms looming over a familiar collapsed figure.

Careful Winry, you should be able to recognize the figures as well.]

[Just as she was about to make her way closer, revealing through the mist finally where he was she froze on the spot. She recognized them all right and she didn't know what to make of it. Gripping her hands she started to continue making her way, eyes to the floor. It could just be her imagination again, for now what's important is making sure the idiot wasn't hurt.]

[The figures eventually notice Winry, the one that looks strikingly like Alphonse but emaciated near to the point of fragility turning to face her first. It smiles a broken and hollow expression before it takes a few steps forward, revealing Ed's figure laying on the ground, unmoving.]

Winry.... [not!Al hissed] You're just in time..

[She had started to make her way closer before stopping mid step. Only a few feet away.]

Ed! [And now she is going to run on over, worried about what will happen.] Edward! Wake up!

[The mist being hesitate at being ignored, backing away from Winry -- if they have no effect on her then...

Ed, however, groans something unintelligible as Winry makes her way over, his hands curling into tight fists.]

[Kneeling down beside him, Winry was going to attempt to lift him and carry him back to the house. But, this was a lot easier said than done when you have to lift the boys own weight mass and the automail.]

Come on, you can do this. [She slowly wrapped her arms around him to at least attempt to get him to sit up.]

Looks like that cloth wasn't too effective. I'll bring my fan.

[] and other gadgets that he thinks will help.]

[The only answer Billy gets in response is the sound of static and indistinct whispering that sounds similar to two of the voices from before.]

Damnation!

[ He's on his way. He thinks he has an idea of Ed's location.]

Don't listen to them!

[When and if Billy manages to find Ed's prone form, he will be alone, the mist beings long since gone after draining from him what they wanted.]

[ He does manage to find Ed, though not without going through the horrors of the mist. The images of his shipmates slain has him shaken, despite his best efforts of ignoring them. He needs the fan to see the fallen alchemist.]

I'm too late?

[ He kneels next to Ed and looks him over. He doesn't appear dead, at least.]

Hey! Snap out of it!

[Ed flinches slightly at the sound of the boy's voice, near immediately curling in on himself in reaction.]

Go away.....

Nuh uh!

[ He doesn't really understand what happened to Ed. He still thinks there's a chance.]

You need to get out of this mist.

[There wasn't much the man could do being stranded on another planet. He'd been fond of the boy the first time he'd spoken to him but he hadn't had the chance to speak to him since his return.. and now.. this happened.]

Mr. Elric! [He exclaimed trying to help him snap out of his delusions]

Things are not what they appear. [This brought back a few memories... like when his master had turned against him during his own nightmare a year ago. This time.. he'd felt more prepared but it was still difficult not to be led astray] You must snap out of it!

[Ed doesn't seem to respond to his name, but the figures do. Their heads turn unnaturally as if their necks are both broken, their faces fixing on the screen. Ed's form behind them trembles a little as white gloved fingers tightly grip his own sleeves in a self-hug.]

But they're right...
