❖ Video ❖ Mai + Radiant Gardens [008]
You can tell a boy has been living here alone.
[Mai was home alone, as usual, while Leon was out working. She had been waiting for Leon to clean up the mess he had left but it had been a few days now and Mai was starting to think he was ignoring it. She had grabbed a basket and walked over to the kitchen table where most of Leon's paperwork was.]
I think the proper thing in terms of organization is to put things in order, correct? [She lifted up a paper and eyed it for a moment.] I guess you'll have some work to do when you get home, Leon.
[She grabbed some more papers and dumped them in the basket, clearing out the place. Even griever seemed to be helping, dragging papers in her snout to the basket Mai kept dumping them in.]
Undertaker, I hope I still have a job in your shop. I don't think I can stand being inside all the time.
[Private to Leon]
Your fridge is empty. What do you want me to get.
[You know, that you can cook because she's not cooking.]

[She doubts people who find 'cleaning' and 'organizing' actually exist.]

I was gonna clean that... [--Eventually!] Thanks anyway.
You really think I'm gonna let you go out and get food for me? Not a chance. When I get home, we can at least go together and look around. I won't be gone that long.
[And she'll even admit it, she doesn't like feeling useless.]
If that's what you want, I'll wait.
I know. It's embarrassing that it got that bad. You shouldn't have to clean up my messes.
[Would taking her out on Heartless patrols help the not-feeling-useless thing?]
Good. I'll be back in about... ten, fifteen minutes.
I'm keeping your word.

You really picked this place up. Glad you and Griever didn't get lost. Kind of figured my messes were places of no return.
[He starts to dump the workload on his table, thinks better of it, then puts it in the basket Mai was already putting his work into. He could sort it out later.]
[action]
You owe me dinner. Don't forget.
[action]
Doubt you'd let me forget. [He's just teasing, Mai.] Would you rather head out for dinner or stay in?
