≋ They're Small and Fuzzy! [Video]

[The video comes on unexpectedly, from a rather awkward angle - down on the ground, facing up. Looks like someone dropped the communicator again; the darn things just love to turn themselves on, don't they? What it shows isn't too unusual: Ven's in the town around the Coliseum, fighting Heartless - a small group of Shadows at the moment that are pretty much on their last legs. A Firaga takes care of one of them, and after a quick dodge roll out of the way a Strike Raid with his Keyblade finishes the other two. He straightens up about ten feet away from the camera, breathing a touch more heavily, and the Keyblade vanishes from his hand as he looks around for more enemies. Heartless he doesn't spot, but his expression when he sees the communicator is surprised, then resigned, as he starts to move towards it.]

Again? I really need to get that fixed, this is getting- [He's interrupted in whatever he was going to say by a sound, quiet enough that at first the communicator doesn't pick it up. He's not even sure he heard something, until it comes again - a high-pitched whine, demanding and insistent. Something living, that's for sure.] What is that?

[He grabs the communicator off the ground but doesn't turn it off, moving into a slow jog after the noise, which gradually gets louder and... multiplies? Yeah, there's definitely more than one thing making the noise. And the closer he gets, the more it resolves into something familiar to most people - the crying of hungry felines. Probably very young felines as it sounds like a bunch of weird squeaky toys.]

[And indeed it is as Ven turns one last corner and finds half an old clay jar in the corner between two buildings, on its side and more or less serving as a "nest" for a pile of five or six patchy-colored kittens, who really aren't very old at all, still with short fuzz that sticks out all over their bodies instead of fur that lies down sleekly. They're very thin and clearly very hungry; when he appears they launch into another series of meows - loudly - and a couple start making their way cautiously over to him as if they think he has food. No sign of a mother anywhere, but maybe she'll come back later...? Or maybe not, if they're as hungry as they look.]

You guys alone? [He puts his hands on his knees, bending over to see them closer - one's retreated back to the meager shelter of the broken pot, but the other that had approached him takes that as a cue and starts to mewww at him while winding around his feet.] You kind of look it... What should I do with you?

[ Admittedly, Xion has been caught up doing her own things lately. By doing her own things, she's still been doing some constant recon. Even with the mist having dispersed as it has, it's done so without viable reason. It just seems... way too convenient, okay? She doesn't like it. Nothing's ever been simple during her existence, after all, and she'll be damned to start believing things are going to get easier from here on in.

So, at least after making sure that what few people she knows are all in one piece, she's taken to do what she's been intent on doing since her first day waking up in Traverse Town. Take matters into her own hands and do her best to do all she can to make sure she doesn't mess things up again. Worrying about what already happened won't get her anywhere, but like she's going to let it catch a second wind. Though once this is done and over with, she might have some questions to ask a particular not-so-newly made friend of hers (or is his appearance just influencing her connection to him?).

And speaking of said friend, there's no mistaking that voice that surfaces from her communicator. It takes a moment for her to dig it out of her pocket, but after she does, she can't help but watch curiously as something seems to grab his attention. Wait.. What's that weird sound? She listens just as curiously as he does until he finally turns the corner and

this? Are those what she thinks they are? ~~Well, duh, what else could they be, Xion.~~

For a moment, all she can do is just watch from the other side of the screen in surprise. ]

[ But that surprise quickly washes off her face. And why? Because it's shortly going to be replaced by a beaming smile unlike any anyone might have seen before. At least coming from her. In fact, she's so distracted, she doesn't even realize she turned on her video instead of her audio.

Her voice is actually relatively calm- okay, perhaps not really that calm - but in comparison to the excitement written on her face? Yeah. It's definitely pulling a higher octave than usual though as she speaks before she even realizes it. ] They're so cute!

[Well that takes him by surprise. He's never heard Xion be that high-pitched, nor smile like that. It's honestly really surprising, but if a pile of kittens makes her happy, who's he to argue?]

You really think so?

I.... yeah. [ Her outright reaction falls short lived, that open expression faltering when her attention draws to Ven himself. She glimpses a little to the side, feeling kind of awkward all of a sudden. But then she did just shout that all of a sudden. ]

If Aqua says it's okay, maybe you can keep one.

[ Oh, Ven, you read her mind. Only not really because it's written all over her face the moment he offers out the idea. Though it's more of awe than her previous ridiculous behavior. ]

Do you- do you think she'll really be okay with it? [ He has Daisy, yeah. But he's also basically Aqua's little brother. Xion, on the other hand, well... she's been with them for a few months now, but still. And maybe they don't want anything in the castle. Who knows? ]

[Tohru can't help but look at them with smile as big and bright as it could ever. These kittens are rather adorable.]

Ma-Maybe they need someone to help look after them. Unless of course there mother is close by.

I don't see any mother. [And really, he's pretty sure no mother would let their kids get that thin. Even he can tell they need food and he's never had a cat.] If she doesn't show up soon... I don't know, I may see about getting them off this world.

I'll be happy to help you move them if you can't on your own.

[She just loves cats. Doesn't help she's a year of the cat fan.]

[He gives a smile at that; someone's cheerful.] I think I can get them all off, but I don't think I can keep them. I've already got pets to take care of.

[And a fulltime job, but let's leave that out for now.]

I see. Maybe I could help you with that. They are so cute after all.

[She can't resist.]

[Winry was happily trying to get things together for working on the shop when she was taking a break for now.]

If my friend were here he would have been more than happy to take care of all of those cats. [She laughed slightly at the thought of all those cats , the image was priceless.] Though I'll be happy to help you if you want.

Your friend? I guess they really like cats, huh.

[More people needed to like animals, to his way of thinking.]

Uhh... help? I don't think I can keep these guys, I've already got my own pets to look after. I'm not really sure what to do with them though.

They did. [It's moments like these that she kind of misses him.] Maybe they'll be people who are willing to look after at least one of them.

Maybe. I can't just leave them here like this. [Though he's already planning to go get something to eat for them. They're starting to quiet down a little though.]

[She smiled, tilting her head slightly for a moment before slowly her smile turns into a frown.]

Allergic? [You caught him unawares, Elizabeth.] I'm not, no one else is around right now - are you?

I'm not. it's just there is someone I know who is. [Poor Ciel, can't go near cats. Otherwise Lizzie would have got one herself.]

If you spend a lot of time with them, then you probably shouldn't get one. But maybe you could get another pet if you really want one.

[After all, just because you're allergic to cats doesn't mean you're allergic to, say, bunnies.]

[She smiled.]

I already do, but at least you don't have anyone who is allergic. [Because you never know if the fur ends up on your clothes.]

[Is that...? It is, and Aqua's not quite sure to whether to remark on the biological adorableness of small kittens or the fact that seem remarkably neglected. Not that she's much of an expert on kittens, but still they ought to at least be better fed and surely it can't be too much trouble to at least help take care of that part.]

I... suppose it can't hurt to make sure they get fed?

Yeah, I'm gonna get them something, but... I can't just leave them here, Aqua.

[Damn his weakness for cats. Normally he'd just ignore what had looked like an accidental video but... The cats caught his attention.]

[At least, the response he's getting from others seems to indicate that. But there's a bunch of kittens in there, so at least most people should be able to get one if they want one.]

There is always someone who takes care of them. If not then me and Hermione are planning something for those strays we find.

[Oh no, and Hermione had just had a conversation about homeless cats not too long ago with Fai.]

I can get them food and stuff, but I can't really keep them. But I think other people maybe do? A couple of people have mentioned helping them or just liking them.
