I have begun my work on those potions you had asked me about, unfortunately I'm not sure how well they will work. Long story short, I would rather try them out but I'm not sure anyone would voluntarily agree to taking one of the potions. Perhaps you could help? I would really prefer having your opinion on the matter. After all, not everyone here seems to be 'normal'.

[PRIVATE TEXT TO SEBASTIAN]
I hope you found the letter I left for you in the shops kitchen. In case you didn't, I'm sending you this message to inform you that I had to take an emergency leave from the bakery. I was asked by someone, and if you must know who I suppose I could disclose the name. I know you can keep a secret. Either way, I was asked to track Maleficent and the ingredients were finally ready. I'm currently in Twilight Town, it's the closest I can safely be to the world she's on. I'll be home soon. I'm sorry for any inconvenience.

[PRIVATE TEXT TO HADES]
The tracking spell is ready. I'm about to try it if you wish to be present. I'm not exactly sure how successful this will be, Maleficent is unpredictable. I assumed you would want to know.

[Hermione had set up camp on a rooftop and some moogle's had helped her. She needed someplace high, easy to see the sky. She had a few things spread out before she brought out her small heartless kitten. The moogle's seemed concerned.]

No, she's fine. She won't hurt anyone, I actually need her for this to work. W-wait!

[But the moogle's weren't having a say in this, in stead they fled. She heaved a sigh and turned back to her work setting the cat down between the ingredients.]

Umbra, you'll have to stay put as I start the spell. [She extended out her wand and pointed it straight at the cat who in turn tilted its head in curiosity.] I promise it won't hurt.

You summoned, Hades appears in a 'poof' of black cloud. ]

Hey, I can't miss this. If we can find out where she is, the easier this will be on everyone.

[His appearance without a warning surprises Hermione but it also surprises the small kitten she was trying to use. It hopped out of the stand she had made and was trying to get to the edge. She heaved a sigh.]

Great, you scared her again. Do you know how difficult it is to control her?

She's a heartless, what is so difficult to... oh yeah, you are a 'goodie goodie' hero-type. No wonder you have trouble with her.

[Hades does keep his distance while Hermione goes after her cat. ]

Do you need another one? I could always call one.

[This was certainly some news for her. She stopped and thought about this, concerned at the fact he could before realizing that was a question for later. She caught her cat and kept it in her arms.]

In order for this spell to work, normally a witch or wizard uses an object or a thing that the person you were trying to track had cast a spell on. In this case, since I don't know what she can do, I assume by tracking the highest concentration of darkness we can find her location. I can't catch heartless, I only have my cat.

Yeah, darkness, heartless, no problem... How do you think that Olympus Coliseum always has so many heartless for you hero-types to face?

[Yeah, he is taking credit for that.]

Sounds like something to try. Just how will this spell of yours show us where she is though, is there going to be a map, fireworks, a giant flashing 'X' carved in the sky, what?

My wand. [She stick it upward.]

This tracking spell is to bind my wand to Maleficent, there is a charm you enunciate that will help you follow the track. The tip lights up in the direction you have to go.

A... stick...

[Wand, stick, same thing really. Hades shrugs. IF it works why mock it?]

Ok, a Maleficent divining rod, as long as it finds her, get with the magic circle deal... or the chanting... or whatever it is you witches do.

[Impatient God is impatient. ]

Give me the heartless I need. Make them stand there.

[How rude, don't rush her!]

[He's impatient! But for once he does do as he was asked and summon a few heartless who appear just where the girl wanted them to.]

Is four enough? If it would go faster I could summon a dozen or so...

I'm sure four will suffice. [And she's a little nervous about this.]

So only four heartless, fine...

[A wave ends the few extra heartless away until there are only four standing there for her to cast her spell on. ]

Now, Maleficent, spell... can we get on with this already?

[And she set her wand out and did a quick little flick. The circle glowed momentarily before her wands tip lit up. She started moving it in different directions.]

[Be careful what you wish for, my dears. For a moment, it will seem as if Hermione's spell is actually working! That is, until her movements are forced to an abrupt stop. A disembodied laughter pierces the air, followed by the unmistakable voice of Maleficent.]

What a charming little girl! Tell me, child, did you really expect to succeed? And Hades... [There's the sound of her clicking her tongue in disappointment.] I expected a more tactful plan from you.

[And now it's time to teach you a lesson. Maleficent begins chanting, putting a curse on Hermione that makes itself known with a bright green flash of light around the young woman. It begins with sharp spikes of pain in Hermione's mind, aiming to distract her from being able to retaliate and counter the curse. After a moment, Hermione will begin to notice her body becoming stiff and throbbing with pain.

By the time the pain subsides, however, Hermione will be paralyzed-- only able to think and nothing else. Unless, of course, Hades can help her.]

Hey, you know, times are tough and the villain quota here is way down... you take what you can get. But, whatever, at least we got your attention.

[The spell slowly taking over Hermione's body? Yeah, that isn't even given a second thought, at least not right away. ]

So, now that you are watching why not come on out? I know you have this whole hiding in the shadows and cackling like a madwoman shtick down but we have so much catching up to do, how are you, what have you been up to... why do you keep involving ME in your asinine schemes? Old comrades in arms outta be able to talk to each other, am I right? Heh, come on.

[Of course this conversation would involve a few fireballs being thrown, maybe a temper tantrum or two, but she has seriously annoyed him by now.
Hermione's condition was only assessed after he had addressed Maleficent. The girl looked entirely helpless. Ugh... mortals were such weak things really.]

What did you do to the girl? Paralysis? That's not very creative. Usually you come up with more interesting things than that, the whole spinning wheel thing, genius! This? A bit lackluster... Pain, Panic!

[The two minions appear as soon as Hades calls for them. ]

Take the stiff... I mean guest, to the Underworld and see about a paralysis reversal. Should be easy enough...

[Oz had spent his time for once to the one place that he believed could help him improve. But while waiting for a way he could train, the young boy had taken to the roofs. So have an Oz standing there with a cheesy grin.]

[She hadn't been expecting anyone up there so she jumped at the sound of a voice. She turned her attention on Oz while the cat decided the boy was a lot more interesting than listening to Hermione.]

You startled me.

[Oz had knelt down, he wasn't exactly afraid of the cat, even if it was a heartless one.]

I'm sorry, I guess I'm more quiet than I first thought.

[She was nervous he'd make a comment on the cat but when he didn't, she walked forward.]

Your fine. I've been concentrating on a tracking spell for Maleficent.

[He tilts his head some more before gesturing the cat back towards it's owner.]

That's right, I'm not sure how good that would help.

I didn't even know something like that existed, so would you be so kind as to enlighten me.

[Sorry, he'll be good and just sit by you and be a good learner.]

Witches and wizard's in my world are capable of tracking down a witch or wizard but the process of doing so is very intricate. Normally I would need something that person cursed since it would have the residue of their magic, but Maleficant is different. In this case, I'll be using a heartless since she is more than likely in the center of the highest concentration of heartless.

[Okay, so magic is very much like ones he read in books once upon a time. Except here it;s real.]

So basically you're saying that using this heartless cat, which I must say I didn't know heartless came as cats is going to help track down Maleficent?

I wasn't aware heartless cats existed either until I got it as a birthday gift recently. And you're correct.

That's a weird birthday present considering.

It's not that bad. It's a very kind feline. A bit mischevious but I can't complain.

No, it won't. It is only concentrating on the darkness the cat is made of in order to find a bigger mass of it.

I'm not really sure. Their insults never really gave reasons...

Then it's nothing to be worried about. It just means you're well learned and the others just need to catch up.

[ sebastian lets out a sigh as he reads over the note that she'd left. he'd not expected her to get tangled up in this mess, but, then again, ...she seemed to have a knack for it. he crumpled it up and tossed it into the trash as she shook his head. lilith leapt onto his shoulder and he gave her head a pat. ] ...what do you think we should, my Dear, ...?

[Hermione did have a knack for getting into unwanted situations, but she had agreed and given her word to do this. She wasn't going to back down. Not to mention, the 'hero's' needed this. Her only fault was to think Hades would actualy offer people that information.]

[ and sebastian had told her to time and time again be careful. but she doesn't appear to have listened as she agreed to help the god of the underworld. had she thought this a good idea ..? he strokes lilith's head and she lets out a muted purr. ] Let us wait and see my Dear. [ nuzzles her. ] I wonder what lesson, if any, she will take away from this. [ he's none too happy right now. ]
