[Rumplestiltskin is sitting at his wheel, spinning. Spinning and spinning and spinning. It's what he does when he broods. When he finds himself thoughtful about things he'd rather not be thinking about. So he's spinning. Bit by bit by bit. Straw into gold.

But the video is on. He glance to it before turning back to his work.]

I have two questions for you tonight, dearies. Two curiosities that have flittered through my mind.

First of all... [He glances up.] What sort of talents and hobbies do you all possess? Anything of particular uniqueness or interest?

[He's quiet for a moment. More spinning, the wheel moving steady, his hands feeding the roving to it evenly.]

And second, at the risk of stirring up homesickness, will any of you tell me about your family?

That depends on how you define unique. I can hold my breath for ten minutes, but I think I already told you that... I used to do some sketching and writing, but that never went anywhere.

That's an interesting talent of yours. [And he's going to avoid that second question.]

Well, unique enough that not everyone on the street can do the same. I think that qualifies.

[A bit of a grin here.] Do you sketch? That's certainly something, yes. Art has its place and use, certainly.

I don't think where I'm from my skills and hobbies would be considered unique. To be perfectly honest I guess I can say I'm like some people who do the same thing I do.

As for my family.... [She paused for a moment, talking about her parents still hurt sometimes, she missed them.] They really helped a lot of people, even though it was because of them helping people that they were killed.

[He raises an eyebrow at that.] That was quite a few words to say very little. You're like some people who do the same thing you do. You may as well say you're like people who breathe air as you do. But what are those things, deary? I'm terribly curious. Certainly you'll indulge me at least a little.

[He smiles a bit, softer than his usual grins.] Helped did they? Aaah, it can be a dangerous thing. But are you proud of them, for the things they did?

I'm more curious about what exactly it is you are doing?

[Or more so how exactly can you do that.]

Me? Just a bit of spinning. An old hobby. [A toothy little grin.] Surely you've seen it before.

Or are you referring to the transformation? That's a newer trick.

[Tohru heard a question about families, so here she is.]

My mom was the best a girl could have. She cared about me and always helped with great advice when I needed it. I still use what she taught me now, even though she is no longer here. ,small>[Give her a moment as she goes and digs out a picture.]

[Rumplestiltskin blinks at this. But despite himself he smiles a little. Well-answered little girl. It's actually dangerously close to encroaching on the tiny little soft spot in his shriveled little black heart.]

You do sound quite fortunate then, to have had a mother like that.

[He even pauses his spinning to peer closer to the communicator, gesturing a bit and the device floats its way to him, the video growing closer bit by bit.] She's lovely, deary. And you look quite a bit like her.

How nice that you remember her so well.

[Fai is just going to sit here and study what exactly you are doing.]

That certainly is an interesting thing you are doing. [He's going to avoid the family questions like a plague.]

[Rumplestiltskin continues spinning without interruption, even as he glances up at Fai with a bit of a curious tilt of his head.]

Is it? I enjoy spinning. It's comforting. In another life it was my profession. Though my final product wasn't quite so valuable, alas.

[Allen is sitting at work currently, but since he for once isn't gambling. He's going to be sitting in the office, going to answer this.]

It depends on what you class as a talent, I guess.

[Rumplestiltskin pauses and glances up.]

Oh many things, deary. Anything you're particularly good at, of course. I for example, spin. Magic too.

I love my family very much. Even though mother would be strict I understood why she did it.

[It's a fun pastime, isn't it? Oh no wait it is the saddest one. Rumplestiltskin is good at it too.]

Parents are often strict for the good of their children, deary. It's part of love in its way.

Well then do tell, hmm? [A smile, tilt of his head as though encouraging her to go on.]

[You are hitting this girl hard with the family question. The one question she isn't very open about.]

Why would you want to know about families?

As I said deary, curiosity. Plain and simple. It's something most of share, for better or for worse, isn't it?

[He only glances up from his spinning wheel briefly, never stopping the motion of it.]

[ and she is going to ignore the first question, but only because she's got nothing that she wants to disclose. but that second question strikes a nerve. family. riko. ] ...sure. I have a little girl back home and her name is Rihoko.

[ tilts her head aside as a sad sigh passes her lips. ] But I'm doing all I can to either get back to her. [ or bring her here. ...though she's not sure which is better. both places are incredibly dangerous, and all she wants to do is keep her daughter safe. ]

[Rumplestiltskin glances up from his work quite interested at that. For just a moment there's a flash of something a bit like understanding in his eyes at that. But there and then gone and he grins.]

As any good parent should.

[Should. Not would. He's been engaged in the same struggle for countless years now, before coming to this place.] You must muss her.

Is something the matter, my Friend?

[ sebastian is concealed in the darkness as he, himself, is musing over his thoughts. it's nothing all that depressing though. just a bit of this and a bit of that. his feline companion, lilith, opens her eyes of amber, effectively giving their location away not like it matters. he's tucked in the corner several feet from the communicator that's been left idle atop his dresser. ]

...if only all this were a dream or, perhaps, a nightmare. [ then we could all go home, these worlds be damned. ]

[His eyes lift immediately and he smiles slowly.] No, simply finding myself thinking of the world I'm from. I'm not one for homesickness, but there are things important back there.

And plans, of course, left incomplete.

[He watches the feed, the darkness, nodding.] If only. It's tedious enough to be a dream, lacks sense enough for one.

Do you share my frustration then?

( she's been being rather silent for the most part, watching him discreetly while he spins more and more straw into more and more gold. her hands are busy with a small vase of flowers she's gotten from somewhere to 'cheer up' the place.

for the longest of times the quiet is killing her. she jerks her head up to look at him through the corners of her eyes when he speaks at his little device and waiting for him to be finished, keeps her silence. lowering her gaze to the roses again, she smiles faintly )

It's funny how they always answer you whatever you ask of them, isn't it? Would you feed them their curiosity if they asked it of you?

[He knows she's there, but until she speaks up, he's not sure she wants to be noticed. So instead he spins on.

His eyes lift from feeding the roving to the wheel to glance to Belle with a bit of a grin.] I can't help it that I'm charismatic!

Ah... well. Now that is a good question. I suppose it depended on the curiosity, and who was doing the asking.

Talents...? This one does not have any.

And... [ she goes quiet at the mention of a family ]

Oh everyone has one talent or two deary. Don't you dance? Knit? Sing?

[He's quiet a moment to see if she goes on, but when she doesn't.] And..?

I'm a sailor.I mainly work as the ship's gunner. I have some skill with metalworking and building things, mostly modifications for weapons.

I don't have a family.

Useful trades, deary. What sort of sailor are you then? Merchant vessels?
