[Whatever had been going on during these past couple of weeks, Qui-Gon was starting to be affected by it. There was a darkness growing somewhere that was leaving him sleepless, unsettled, and with periodic headaches. It was early in the morning as Qui-Gon prepared himself a morning cup of tea. His ferret of a pet was standing on the counter watching him.,b>]

I will have your breakfast soon. Perhaps you should go call on Obi-Wan. Tell him to come downstairs.

[The furret, understanding, started going towards the stairs just as Qui-Gon managed to reach for the glass. He stumbled as if the man were dizzy. Thankfully he caught a hold of the counter and leaned against it, his arm accidentally toppling over his cup. That was very clumsy for a Jedi. The furret scurried back as Qui-Gon settled into a chair.]

Perhaps I should wait on getting things together. This ill omen has been growing in my conscience. It makes it very difficult to concentrate and ignore.

[He gave his pet a a scratch behind the ear.]

Don't worry, furry friend. I'll be all right.

[Like any good padawan, Obi-Wan could sense the restlessness and unease from his master. He knew where it came from, for Qui-Gon was more in tune with the world around him than any Jedi he'd ever met. Darkness continued to loom over this kingdom-- he could feel that much. What the other man felt much have been tenfold.

He was already starting downstairs when the furret zoomed around his feet, then back downstairs with a sense of urgency; he quickly followed.]

Qui-Gon--? [He hurried over, catching sight of the spilled cup and Qui-Gon's weary demeanor. Obi-Wan was quick to wipe up the mess and refill the glass, nudging it back towards his master.] It's very worrying that the darkness is so strong to have this effect on you... [He hesitates, then adds:] Perhaps you should consider sitting out the attack on Maleficent's castle.

I will do no such thing. [He wasn't upset that Obi-Wan was offering this motion but he should know that Qui-Gon was stubborn. He wasn't about to let his apprentice fight alone, not when the darkness was growing stronger.] I fear these world's will need all the help they can get.

[Siiigh.] Of course you won't, Master. [But he had to try.] But what if that force is so strong that the closer we get, it becomes incapacitating? What if it prevents you from fighting?

Always be mindful of the present. Let me worry about what lies in store for us. The sooner we bring down Maleficent, I feel the sooner the darkness will diminish.

You can't honestly expect me not to worry about you. [It's just not humanly possible for Obi-Wan not to worry, especially over Qui-Gon.] Look, even your furret is worried sick over you!

These bouts of pain have been far more recurring recently. He's stressed.

I'm not sure. The darkness can be very deceiving.

I believe some would call it being 'psychic' but my connection is far more physical.

Physical? How so? I didn't think that was possible.

Where I come from, the living force is all around us. I can feel it due to my high sensitivity. Normally, this world doesn't work entirely the same way as mine so the fact that I can feel a disturbance worries me. The darkness has grown far beyond my own belief. It's close.
