I woke up here in one piece, so maybe Lady Luck hasn't turned her back on me yet.

I can't really explain that myself except that the Darkness somehow takes over worlds.

Suffice to say, it was a bit of a wild ride, that's for sure. Never heard of Darkness havin' that kind of power exactly, though. Especially workin' on its own.

The darkness is something that destroyed my home before, but it's come back since then, so it can be reversed. I just have no idea how.

Fightin'. War. We may not have those, but we have Sorceresses. Sometimes, they turn evil. People from my world, we can't use magic naturally, so we have to use a junction system. It basically allows us to emulate the Sorceress' magic. In order to use it, though, you have to be junctioned to a Guardian Force. Basically, it means: in exchange for their power, you let 'em live in your head. Just ended a war in my world.

( this look. it's aimed at you, zell ) If you want the short version, suffice to say that l'Cie aren't the most welcome of visitors most times.

War, huh? ( a pause, and a chortle ) Well. It's pretty much the same agenda back home for us. We call 'em Eidolons. Thing is, we only bond with one for our whole, uh -- career.

Heartless, most likely. Their bark is mostly worse than their bite.

Persistent though, that's for sure.

Get ready for a major case of culture shock. We're all pretty far from home, here. Those enemies you saw are called Heartless. They're manifestations of Darkness, from what I understand.

Really. So all'uv us... got sucked in by that wave'a darkness? Yeesh.
