[The video feed comes on to reveal a pale-haired scarred man dressed rather fancily in black, gold and a small riot of other various colors. The most obvious thing though is the fact he's obviously soaked, the pale hair still clinging to the sides of the scarred face despite his attempts to shove it back into a semblance of order with one hand.

However despite his desire to not present himself in his current disheveled appearance, the need to find out if he's flying solo again or if his friends are here is more important. A few more answers wouldn't hurt to even the odds either, he rather regretted not paying more attention to the moogle than he had now.]

This is a rather lousy hand to be dealt, and just what sort of name is Darkness anyway. We just managed to deal with Kefka and now some other madman comes crawling out to try his hand at destruction?

Fate must be playing games with us.

Regardless, would anyone know if there is anyone hereabouts who answer to the names of Locke, Celes, Terra, Edgar or Sabin? They're friends of mine you see.

[He certainly hopes he's not the only one here, it had taken all of them nearly to properly deal with Kefka's actions. Who knew just how bad this Darkness would be..]

Yes, that is what he claims to be.

I don't know who or what it is myself.. I merely assumed it was another madman, since I can't see how mere darkness could destroy anything. It's merely the lack of lighting after all. Admittedly, it wouldn't be easy to live in...but surely it can't literally destroy in the way I've been told.

[Her brow furrows.]

The moogle described it as...'a force hungry for destruction', I believe. Yet, I am not certain how this can be so. I am new to this situation, as well.

Perhaps it's not actual 'Darkness' as we know it then, people can be rather unoriginal in naming things...though that doesn't help us much in figuring out just what sort of hand we've been dealt here.

I've seen Locke over the communicators. I don't really know where he is, though.

I don't really understand this Darkness thing, but it seems to have engulfed plenty of worlds.

It would seem the lad is popular here. [Or he's gotten himself a reputation via those thieving ways of his one.]

I don't understand it either...though the fact it's taken out more than one world does put bad odds on my original thought that it was another man like Kefka.

Probably, he seems friendly.

I never would have thought of something like that being possible for a man.

Deal a man too much power and let them think themselves a god...you'd be surprised what one man could do.

One such man, Kefka managed to put our world into ruins, which you might say is much the same hand as what seems to have been dealt here...except those that survived woke up in the wreckage of it and eventually managed to take him out. It wasn't easy but Fate favored us and with some help from Lady luck, we succeeded.

[ He's having trouble understanding this.]

A man can really have that much power?

[ He pictures someone from his world with that ability and shudders.]

That's ...horrifying!

[He understands the issue the other has with imagining it. After all, he doubted he'd have believed it either until he had personally experienced it.]

At least he's dead, so I doubt he'll show up here.

I'm not so sure about that. I've heard people can show up from different points in time.

[Just what he didn't want to hear. He had enough of Kefka on his world, he sure as hell didn't want to deal with him again here on this one.]

This place is just full of surprises it would seem. Hopefully for everyone's sake then, he doesn't show up.

I agree with that. These Heartless things are enough to deal with.

I think they're related to the Darkness in some way.

A type of monster is my guess from what I've heard, but how do you think they're related to this Darkness?

Yeah, some type of creature that steals hearts or something like that.
A lot of people seem to think that fighting them will help eventually restore our worlds, and they kinda look like they could be made of darkness if it had a solid form, which it seems to have.

Did the moogles tell you anything?

[There's something of a slight sheepish? perhaps look about the man at that last question.]

They tried I believe, but my mind was elsewhere at the time... and I'll have to admit I wasn't quite paying as much attention to them as I ought to have it seems.

How does one fight these Heartless, do you know?

[ He's looking a bit sheepish too.]

I thought the red things on their heads was fruit, so they didn't tell me very much.

I guess you could fight them the way you'd fight anything else. King Mickey said there was only a certain type of knight that could destroy them, but plenty of people could help by wounding them with weapons or magic or whatever.

Sorry, I don't really know that much.
