Are there any tap-dancing classes or studios around here? [There's a poorly disguised laugh in the background, to which Lassiter immediately turns and gives them a deathglare. Rapid footsteps can be heard shuffling away. Lassie looks back at the screen.]

What's tap-dancing?

...Seriously?

I know what dancing is! Just not this tap dancing. Is it like, some sort of erotic dance?

What?! No! You seriously need to stop juicing on magic. It's going to your head. It's a form of dance that requires special shoes. You tap your feet on the floor so it makes a... percussive instrument, sort of.

I use magic a lot less than some people here! And I'm not juiced on anything. [Frooown.] What kind of dancing is that?

Like hell you aren't! People don't just take on three-headed dogs like they're fighting a caterpillar!

I don't know about tap dancing, but what about ballroom dancing? That can be very relaxing.

That generally requires you to dance with another person. No thank you.

So if they do that, maybe they'll let you have a dance partner.

What makes you think I want a dance partner?

Well, it's just in case they don't have tap classes. I mean after all they have a ballroom in one of the worlds, so why not have ballroom classes.

You don't need a partner, no. It's a type of dance that requires you to tap your feet on the floor to a rhythm with special shoes.

Just my luck... The first person to take any interest in dancing is you. I didn't have you pegged as the coordinated type.

There's nothing on the covers of books. I don't know why you'd judge one by it.

In any case, I've been trained in some tap dancing. If you've the mind for it, I suppose I could make time for you.

That's a pretty big price tag. I'm doing this for therapy, not so you can try to kick my feet out from under me for giggly fun times.

If there's one thing I take seriously, even for those I'm not fond of, it's dancing. I'm offering to help. Get it through that thick skull of yours, you dolt.

I don't have any suggestions, sir, but I'm sure you'll find something if you keep looking. [The only world she could think of that showed any interest in dancing is long gone.]

And don't let what people say bother you. It's good to have a hobby you're passionate about.

Figured as much. I haven't been able to find anything, myself.

It's not so much about being passionate about it as it is keeping me sane.

I'll let you know if I hear anything... but I'm not exactly an expert on dancing. [She laughs, a little awkwardly.]

Either way, they shouldn't mock something like that. If it helps you, that's what matters.
