-luck, k-kupo! [The first thing that's visible is a moogle hightailing it away from whoever has the communicator. It's kind of easy to see why. When the video moves to actually show the person holding the device, it shows a man wearing a large, dark set of armor. In the slightly dim lighting of Traverse Town, it's just a bit intimidating. The way his voice echoes probably doesn't help either.]

This, after everything... how painfully ironic.

Tell me. What should be known of this darkness that is destroying worlds?

[Mjrn stares at the armored man, slightly less fascinated than by Kain's dragonish attire, but curious nonetheless. Intimidated, but curious. She can't help herself.]

[If his face were visible, Mjrn would see Golbez's raised eyebrow at the ears. But the helmet effectively masks it, and he's used to dealing with those with odd physical appearances enough that his surprise barely lasts a second. He's seen stranger.]

It is rather confusing, at first...and now. I am rather new, myself. All I am certain of is that this darkness has taken many worlds, and the survivors arrive here. Many seek a restoration, but I know not how that would take place or what it might require.

It is difficult, if the darkness continues to be an enemy without form. But it can be assumed that in order for the darkness to be beaten, those with the power of light would be needed.

[There's no hint of the anger that was usually present in Golbez's voice under Zemus's control, and there are no orders or demands that follow it.

That is a question Golbez is beginning to wonder himself. With both him and Kain appearing here, as tainted with darkness as they are... it brings up the question who else can appear.]

You need not worry. My only interest is in finding a way to return to my father's people.

[No commands. No evil, disturbing feelings of Darkness stirring to obey... but Kain still will forever have a secret aversion to the sound of Golbez's voice. He's determined not to let that show though.]

Unfortunately, not much is known of the Darkness yet, sir. But we do know it can be defeated, we just need to find out how. In the meantime, the Darkness manifests itself in beings the natives call "Heartless." They can only be defeated with special weapons... But we can at least keep them from harming others.



Can I help you find anyone? I'm acquainted with most of the refugees; I might be of some help.

[He notices that wary look. It isn't hard to see, and he expects something like this. Men who look like him rarely But she had been polite, at least.]

I've not seen one myself, so I'm uncertain what kind of weapons they are. I've only heard the word "keyblade" thrown about. What that might mean...



Heartless, though, can come in many forms. Those in Traverse Town travel as pools of shadow on the ground. When they find their targets, they spring into beings that are roughly the size of children, with black skin, claws, and antennae. I've seen similar ones that are taller than I as well... Heartless with wings, ones that are giant and round, small Heartless with magical powers, some that look like dogs, others that resemble monkeys.

In other words, they come in many forms.



The last time someone told me as much, his two good friends showed up in a panic. If you're trying to avoid someone, I can try to help. But if you don't tell me, there's nothing I can do.

[From Frog's experience, tall imposing men in capes who take an interest in darkness can only ever spell 'evil sorcerer'. Still, he knows better than anyone not to judge by appearance alone. The man will get the benefit of the doubt for now.]

[He was an evil sorcerer until only a little while ago, so Frog's experiences would have worked well in this situation.

Frog's appearance, like that of Mjrn, only gets slight surprise from Golbez. Having had the four archfiends to serve him, he's gotten used to many strange things.]

It does not matter. Whether or not he is here, I do not need to find him.

And yet despite that, she doesn't look at all afraid of him. If he were to name that look, it would seem almost welcoming. Accompanied with that statement, he has a lot to take in. And she looks much older, on top of everything else...]
