[Video] Puzzle 002

[There's a slight fizzle of static and then video feed abruptly comes in, though one corner of it is slightly obscured by something dark and with a triangular point to it. That would be the corner of a book which fell and hit the communicator lying next to a small sleeping boy. Anyone who has had the fortune to meet the bitty currently being shown sleeping against the wall on a bed, will recognize him as a certain young budding scientist in training by the name of Ienzo.

Feel free to wake him up to chat if you like.]

[Aqua hasn't quite noticed any strangeness on the network yet, as she hasn't seen any changes in anyone she knows and recognises. Still, she's worried. Something has been off ever since Setsuna's broadcast. So when she sees the little boy, she can't help but worry about him, too.]

Where are your parents...? You shouldn't be left on your own like this.

[She says it softly, merely thinking aloud. She doesn't intend to wake him...]

[He's a light sleeper, and upon hearing the voice rather close by wakes him up. Noticing the light coming from under the edge of the book he picks it up and deduces easily enough the device is where the voice came from.]

......

They're dead.

[He's looking around now and comes to the silent revelation that he's not in the castle currently, this looks nothing like any of the rooms there. This prompts him to return his attention to the lady.]

Where am I?

Oh! I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you.

[Her voice is not unkind as she studies him, checking he's okay. He seems to be in good health, at least, even if he's on his own.]

Traverse Town, I'd assume. Do you have anyone with you?

[The question provokes a bit of silent concern since he's not in Garden where he should be, Even could find him here still couldn't he?

There's a good lengthy silence as he slides off the bed to look around the room, and have a look out the hallway.]

There's no one here...[A lengthy pause and an idea comes to mind.]

How far is Traverse Town from Radiant Garden?

It's some distance, even via Gummi Ship. If you need to go home, I can take you.

[Not the answer he expected, how in the world did he get so far from home he doesn't know, but perhaps if he could get home before Even decided to form a search party for him...or worse tell Ansem he had gotten lost..]

Yes, please.

Right. I'm elsewhere right now, so just sit tight there until I come to you, okay? It's dangerous around town.

[He nods silently and retreats back to the room he woke up in, getting back into bed with the book and resuming his seat against the wall.]

There's unversed in the town?

[It's the most likely explanation he can think of, he recalls being surrounded by them before once in a place he thought safe...not exactly the most pleasant of memories despite a certain blond taking them out before they could hurt him.]

[Aqua's preparing to leave, so there's not a lot to see, since her palm has closed over the screen of the communicator. But when he mentions the Unversed, she almost drops the communicator in surprise.

Regaining her composure, she holds the communicator up so she can see him. She's shocked, but not suspicious... yet.]

You... know about Unversed? Who are you, really?

[There's a nod and then silence for a good several seconds before he finally speaks back up.]

Ienzo.

[More silence follows but just before she might think that's all he had to say, he speaks again, though more quietly than before.]

The unversed...killed my mother and father.

I see. I'm so sorry.

[But something here is off...]

Are you sure they weren't Heartless? Dark creatures, with yellow eyes? The Unversed disappeared a long time ago.

[A head shake in the negative.]

They were blue, with red eyes..

[Now she's really confused.] How long ago did this happen?

[There's silence for a minute or so before he finally speaks up to answer the question.]

I don't remember just how long ago it was... but a blond boy took them out and saved me from them once back home.

A blond boy... [She pauses, both hopeful yet afraid to get her hopes dashed.] You don't mean-- Did he tell you his name?

[A moment of thought and then a shake of his head in the negative.]

No..all he said was that he was looking for a friend. [There's another thoughtful pause and he continues on.]

Would it help if I described his outfit..it was different than what most people tended to wear.

[That sounds a lot like Ven, just from that description. But she's still trying to keep her hopes under wraps.]

Was he dressed anything like me?

[He studies her outfit and half nods.]

Somewhat, he had the straps like you have, but in black or gray? I think....

[A pause to think on the memory further.]

The rest of his outfit...was mostly gray and white, and I think he had something on his shoulder and a wristband on one wrist too..

[That's Ventus, for sure.] Do you remember how long ago that was? Was it recently?

[Pause, time is a slippery thing, especially if you don't pay attention to it in relation to other things.]

It wasn't all that long ago....but it wasn't really 'recent' either.

[He lapses into silence after that, quietly displeased at the vagueness of the answer and yet not sure why it really mattered, though Even had made noises about the boy being special he recalled. So perhaps that was why the meeting had stuck in his mind...]

Okay. [She nods, not really satisfied with that answer either, but he is just a child. She shouldn't have expected anything more.]

If you remember any other details, please tell me. In the meantime, I'd better leave and fetch you.

[There's a short nod in response to that.]

I'll be waiting here for you.

[So many children around! This one looks awfully uncomfortable sitting up like that.]

Hello?

[Hearing the voice rather close by wakes him up. And upon noticing the light coming from under the edge of his book, he moves the book and picks up the device, it's easy enough after that to figure out that the device is where the voice came from.

He studies the lady on the screen silently for a good several seconds before finally responding to the greeting.]

Hello.

Are you okay? You looked very uncomfortable.

I fell asleep reading...I'm fine. Thank you for your concern.

It must have been a very interesting book. What's it about?
