I thought I was swallowed up in darkness, but I'm suddenly here.

[ The camera pans to the left smoothly--this young man isn't against a brick wall but sitting and leaning against a chimney. The starlit night carpets the background with the rooftops and buildings of the recognizable First District of Traverse Town poking into the dark canvas and the feed focuses on a moogle waddling away. It comes to the edge of the roof, turns and faces the camera, waves, then jumps off. Its little wings spread open as it descends but the camera pans back to the young man. ]

Is it true? My world is gone?

[ He winces a small smile and looks away. He sighs quietly. ]

[ He looks back into the camera. ]
