[There's what looks like the aftermath of an earthquake, rocks and debris strewn around. Kain kneels on the ground, clutching his head.]

What- what is that? Who's there?

'You will obey my commands.'

[The voice of Zemus is deep and evil, but to Kain it's also compelling. The figure of Golbez comes striding into view, towering and tall as ever. Kain shakes his head repeatedly, but already he feels the darkness settling inside him, quiet and shadowy. Deceptively soothing.]

No! Leave me!

'You will obey my commands... through him. Golbez. Take him. We have a use for this pawn. He has untapped darkness, waiting to be used.'

...stop... stop this...

[It's inescapable, he knows. Soon he'll lose his very will, the worst thing that could happen. Kain falls upon the ground, struggling mentally to win a losing battle.]

[The Darkness and Golbez all seem very real to Kain and he struggles, loathing this feeling more than anything. He- he can't lose himself now! The Darkness sinks in just a bit further, invading his mind, tearing into his deepest, most hidden thoughts. It stirs up all the hatred and desire, all the things he wants to keep repressed...]

[...but something, for some reason he doesn't know, gives him a sudden burst of strength. He must fight this. He must.]

[He's not alone. Kain is so wrapped up in the struggle and the fear of what's inevitably coming. Darkness. Loss of control. He'd sooner die than face that fate. He groans under his breath, leaning into Dany as she pulls him close, and...]

[The imposing figure of Golbez begins to waver as Drogon starts attacking the duck, and with that, the darkness eases, already dissipating...]

[This is not what he needs to see so soon after coming out of his own nightmare. Yet another reminder of the things he's done, the way he was controlled... at least this time, Zemus's words don't truly control him.

And perhaps there is something he can do here, as much as he dislikes it.]

Fight, Kain. Resist this control.

[Gripping his head, crying out as the foreign presence sinks into his head, Kain barely notices the other person's voice at first. But when it finally comes through, he becomes... confused. This too is a voice he must obey. Which one should he listen to?]

[Kain is supposed to obey his voice- has been trained to obey his voice. He knows it's one of the reasons Kain avoids him if at all possible, but if he can use that and Kain's pride to make him work against this nightmare, then it doesn't matter.]

[Some part of Kain will always want to obey Golbez, a fact which disturbs him greatly. He cries out in pain as he's getting quite the headache between the two strong forces competing for control.]

[It's disturbing, that darkness flooding into his head, into places no outside forces should ever go. He struggles, but he doesn't think it's going to be enough. And... he can't tell if he's imagining another person or not. He continues to grip his head.]
