[The camera falls to the ground.] Shoot!

[Ritsuka mutters, not able to pick it up as he's currently sitting on top of a crate. He's clearly in Traverse town, making use of one of the large boxes that sometime litter the area around the moogle shop.]

No no no! [The boy hisses when the box starts to rattle and shake, a several distinct quacking sounds can be heard from inside.] You're not getting out of there so quit jumping arou-ah! [He yelps when the box hops with him still firmly on top of it. When it lands, he's still clinging to it and his tail is twitching in clear annoyance.]

Nice try! Can someone out there help me get rid of these things?!

...More ducks?

How many of these stupid things are there!?

About 5 or 6 in this box alone and it's getting really annoyi-i-i-ing! [The box bounces again and his ears perk up in alarm, but he manages to stay on.]

[Help you release the annoying things. She had a nightmare.. so should everybody else]

Great. I'm in Traverse town by the moogle shop.

[Lo' and behold Icy shows up in her civilian clothes no less. Looks harmless, right?]

Let's just say... I owe these ducks one.

Just step back and I'll take care of them.

Um, wait, what are you going to do? These are pretty dangerous, Miss...

[Letting them lose did not sound very smart...]

Simple. I'm going to put them on ice. permanently.

[Gives the boy a little demonstration, icing up a nearby crate]

I'll help! I want those things gone.

Great! [Yelps when the boxes bounces again.]

I-I'm in Traverse Town by the moogle shop!

Okay! I know how to get there on my own.

Okay, but be careful! There are still more ducks out there.

[He can't see the video too well since the camera was still on the floor, but she sounds very young. He hopes he isn't putting a child in danger.]

[She frowns, but nods.]

I'll run really fast.

Yea-ack! [Ritsuka lets out a small growl of frustration when the box hops again and holds as he waits.]

[Traverse Town, by the moogle shop. She repeats that to herself after snagging a ship there. Thankfully, she'd gained some sense of direction since her first visit, and so was able to make her way over without too much difficulty. The little girl glances around, then perks up as she spots him and runs over.]

Hi!

[He is in the very same spot, tail frizzed and swishing quickly.]

"Hi!"

Huh? [Ritsuka looks over and ...as he worried, she was very young looking. Still a lot of the kids here had powers, so maybe she was tougher than she looked.]

Hello. Thanks for c-coming... [The box gives another wiggle. The ducks do not seem to be tiring out.] You wouldn't happen to know how to get rid of these things, would you?

[Rydia scowls. She hates the ducks, now.]

I just know that we had to destroy the ducks to make the nightmares go away. But I can see if blasting them with ice will help.

[Sailor Mercury has had her own run-ins with the things. She faces the video head-on, seriously.]

I'll come at once; I'm in Traverse Town. Please tell me your exact location.

Thanks for the assist! I'm between the moogle shop and the gizmo sho-ah! I said quit it!

[Ritsuka hisses and gives the box a kick with the back of his heel, while still clinging to it.]

P-please hurry!

I'm on my way. [She keeps the communicator on, and the video feed shakes as she runs.]

[The boy sits tight, glaring down at the crate. Tail twitching back and forth like a cat holding down pray as he guarded that box.]

Tch, exposing people's fears like it's entertainment... Disgusting.

"Quack!"

[Ritsuka's eyes widen and he looks over to see a squeaky ducking bouncing down the steps.]

Oh, come on!

Mercury! Aqua Rhapsody!

[With a glissando from an ethereal harp, water imbued with her energy streams towards the escaping duck as Mercury arrives, already in action. She keeps her eyes focused on it to be sure it's finished while she calls out to Ritsuka.]

Do you have the others safe still?

[The burst of... actually he isn't sure what that is, but it's enough to put him on alert.]

W-what? [He stares at the spot the duck was just blasted from in slight shock, but then shakes his head to snap out of it.]

Yeah, they're still in here! [As if to prove he's right, the box gives another little jump under him.]

[She's sorry! She didn't have time to explain and warn him!

And now the question is how to get him a safe distance away from the box without the ducks climbing right out, too.

Or...]

Please hold still. I'm going to use ice again, to encase the box. Your hands may get cold, but they won't be injured.

[He is still staring, but now at the woman that came to help him. Sailor outfit? Magical girl powers? This seemed... really familiar.]

Huh? Oh! [Wait, she was going to shoot ice at him?!]

U-um, okay, you seem like a good shot... [And a box is a lot bigger than a little toy duck. Still his ears might be pressing against his head in a slightly nervous fashion and his tail stays up, trying to keep it clear of the box.]

[She can do this. She closes her eyes briefly to focus, then opens them again and crosses her hands in front her.

Ice forms from nothing, encasing the box. It's cold, as she warned, against the skin; but harmless and it doesn't cover his hands.]

[Ritsuka gives a small shiver at the sudden cold under him, but she was right, it didn't hurt him at all.]

Is it safe to get up? [His tail swishes curiously as he waits for the box jump or rattle. ...Nothing happens, so he starts to slowly get up.]

[She nods, and is about to say something when he stands anyway.]

Are you alright? You weren't hurt, were you?

No, I'm okay. I tricked them into the box before they could touch me.

[Now with out the panic, she seems even more familiar... but he's seen a lot of characters on these worlds that were fake in his own so this doesn't surprise him. He decides to stop trying to figure it out. Telling people they're fictional in his world just seemed cruel and unnecessary.]

Thanks a lot for the help... um, is that ice going to hold them for long?

No. This is our chance to finish them before they break through it. [It is, after all, only ice, in this case. A way to seal them in, not a way to destroy them.]
