quigonjinn: (So give me reason)

[Video] Episode I

[The sight of a large man resting against a nondescript wall fills the sudden feed which has come to life, though the image is shaky and has a tendency to bob up and down without warning.]

Do you think we should wake him up, kupo?

We could just leave the communicator and the money here with him for when he wakes. The others can tell him what happened...

[A moogles flutters into the scene and hovers over the robed figure, and after a moment pokes a dark clad shoulder in an attempt at waking the stranger.]

I think they might get stolen if we did that...

Hey, what's that he's holding in his hand?

[The feed abruptly shifts ground-ward, showing the street, a robed arm and hand tightly wrapped around what looks like a silver and black tube. The moogle hovering over the man moves to settle down beside the hand and attempts to investigate it and after a moment attempts to grasp one end of it so as to get a better look. This ends up causing a sudden upset of the camera feed, the screen filled abruptly with dark fabric and the camera shaking erratically for a moment before things finally settle down to show the man from before on his feet now and holding the nosy moogle by the scruff of its neck. The man's blue eyes studied the creature with a mix of curiosity and wariness. After a moment though, the moogle is released from the hold.]

Just what are you and where am I?

We're moogles, kupo! This is Traverse town.

[The moogle with the communicator decides to come closer now and presents the man with both the device it holds and a small sack. The feed abruptly changes angles as this occurs, giving a closer view of the man's face and shoulders from a lower angle.

Qui-Gon gave the items a brief study, and he turned his attention to the area around him silently as he takes this information in. He's never heard of moogles nor a place called Traverse before but that didn't mean anything except that he somehow had ended up on a world he had obviously never been to before.

Regardless, he had a mission and a battle to be getting back to. He could only hope Obi-Wan and the others could hold out until he could return. He let his attention split between the creatures before him and the objects they had given him for some reason.]

What world is this Traverse town on?

Traverse town is both the name of this world and this place, kupo.

[Well that hadn't helped him any, from that he deduced from feeling the contents of the pouch, it held both round and pointed objects of some form of metal within it. Possibly currency. Though why these creatures would give him such a thing he wasn't certain as of yet. He didn't feel that they wanted anything from him in return for either thing. Perhaps he could use it to buy his way off the world.]

Do you know where I might arrange transport from this world to Naboo?

[The two moogles looked at each other briefly, and then one looked back at him almost sadly.]

Is that --

[Suddenly without warning the moogles words were drowned out and he staggered under the unexpected onslaught that he feels, one hand reaching out to brace himself against the wall beside him as his eyes close. The camera feed falling to give a view of the lower half of the Jedi tunic and robe as he leans against the wall.

It didn't last long, but it was painfully obvious what had happened, however.. it had also felt somehow...unnatural. It took him a moment to find his center again, the sense of loss still lingering despite his efforts due to the magnitude of it. He heard one of the creatures come close, a tiny hand lightly coming to rest over his shoulder as it inquired as to his health.]

I'm fine.

We're sorry about your world...

[The words despite not making much sense at first to him, ended up after a moments thought to make all too terrifying sense. Especially considering the state of things when he had departed. Whatever those creatures had been...living shadows somehow eerily void of life...it was all too possible they had somehow destroyed Naboo. The disturbance he had felt...he could only hope that it hadn't been that. Surely he would know if Obi-Wan had been among those whom had perished. No matter the amount of voices that had suddenly cried out and had been abruptly silenced.

He turned his attention back to where the moogles had been, only to see that while he had been coming to terms with their words and that unnatural and sudden loss of life, the creatures had left him alone. The camera feed once against shifts as he straightens up, rising up to once again frame the man's face and shoulders. He studies the device silently but intently for a minute and then despite himself, there's a small hint of rather brief amusement which goes through the blue eyes before being replaced with a calm reserved expression as he decides to see if there might be anyone on the receiving end of this device.]

To those which might receive this message, if you could provide me with answers as to what has happened to the worlds out there, I would greatly appreciate it.

[Once he had more information and had investigated this world's transportation capabilities, he would hopefully be able to affirm Naboo's continued existence or its destruction.]

Master-- you're here.

Two weeks or so. I've spent much of that time gathering as much information as I could. And... ...there are some things we need to discuss. Soon-- and preferably not over the network, Master.

Very.

--Ah.

You arrived in Traverse Town. The Second District, then? I can meet you outside of the hotel.

It's nothing, Master. A minor mishap shortly after I arrived.

Perhaps we should get the worst news out of the way, first?

...It's linked to what I have to tell you. Time and space... means nothing here, Master. People have accused me of being a work of fiction, somehow knowing my name and yet not being in the same galaxy. And... I've met someone from the future. Our future. Through him and others, I've learned the name Darth Vader, though no one seems capable of telling me much about him. I wasn't aware until it was too late that he is not from our current time... That man I spoke to was thirty-three years in the future.

Master, I... I have also learned of what will come to pass, because of him. That the Jedi Order is destroyed and the Sith rule the galaxy.

Yes, Master. Forgive me.

--It got the best of me when I found out. I couldn't sleep properly and I kept dreaming of the Jedi Temple, desolate and silent... Shortly after, there was... a being, angry at the residents here, I think. He sent out cursed toys that would force one to live out their worst nightmare to punish them and I got in the middle of it. One put me under its spell and it used my dreams against me. To... force me to watch as this Sith Lord murdered the Council, and that boy, and... you, before my eyes.

It was an illusion, but so vivid that it may as well have been real. I didn't know the difference, nor did I let the Force guide me to the truth... I just-- all I could think to do was attack and I let anger take hold of me. And I paid for it. The slash of his lightsaber did no different in that dream than if he had done it awake. I was reckless and he would have killed me if not for friends coming to my aid.

I did come to my senses, but I should have never lost them to begin with.
